From experience in some big companies, they can rely on questionably scientific pop psychology tests like Myers-Briggs or Insight. If anyone in the place got brains, it's not taken seriously.
It's glorified horoscope and not considered serious by any scientists. -

but by and large I'd say only low level managers at gas stations believe in personality exams.

I got a 10 page pdf back showing my "results" and while some of it was accurate, most of it was completely off or very exaggerated.
