Oh gosh, if you like building stuff, how do you find a job that is actually building stuff instead of dealing with software complexity bs, bureaucracy, red tape, processes to justify other people’s jobs… 🤦‍♂️

@iiii how does one even makes a living out of it? But on the other hand, the next thing I’m going to learn is OpenGL just for the fun of it :)

@benj I haven't said you'll make a living out of that. It's usually a side project in parallel to some other job

@AndroidJester a parasite is just a lifeform trying to feed itself, regardless of our moral judgement of the way it does it. and it's usually quite good at it.

cancer is just cells completely and utterly failing at "celling"

i think that better represents the incompetence that's usually found in certain managerial positions.

Alas OP, I fear this is a pipedream 🥲. If it's not: PLEASE SHARE 👀👀👀👀

One upside of working with shitty code so long is you have the perfect playground to become a legacy specialist.

Every company/repo has code rot within a week or two of starting from a fresh slate (or so it seems).

Sounds like a (hopefully high paying) skillset that will always be around while humans write software.
Why not have fun with it and make it thing to MS Excel in? 😁

Red tape fucks me off to no end though. Am still learning to deal with that

@tosensei cancer usually dies with the patient. And I don't think it's common for cancer to transmit from an organism to another.
