Why is it that whenever I show someone the app I made that they always suggest a bunch of fucking idiotic features. What is bloody wrong with "Wow, cool app you made".

Why is it when you show someone something you've made that you get really, aggressively upset when they suggest improvements, enhancements or things you could have done differently? Are you that confident your work is flawless?

If you're just looking for positive reinforcement as feedback, perhaps creative development is not for you. Do you actually need that to feel you've achieved something?

Do you ever read devRant and wonder what the hell @dfox thinks when he reads some of the "improvements" suggested in this app? Can't say I've ever seen him respond with "Bloody whiny users! Can't they just tell me I'm great?". Although maybe he does that in private!!

@rookiemaverick Noticed that and let rip a bit more than I otherwise would have. Bit classless, IMO...

I've found that in general with apps people like to give feedback and suggestions. I think sometimes people also feel some sort of obligation to give feedback when you show them something because just saying "that's really cool" can seem sort of lazy.

My advice would be to take consider the feedback, but also take it with a grain of salt and realize that in the end you're the decision maker and what they say really can't impact that.

And if you use feedback effectively, it's tremendously valuable and has been for us (which is why we ask for it). But there is an art, I think, which we haven't mastered in every way yet, to separating really key feedback from that of vocal minorities.
