mom: so what are u doing in your new job? you code in java?
me: no, i code in javascript, html, css and php..
mom: so thats java. how nice.
me: no, its javaSCRIPT.
mom: theyre still the same.
me: java and javascript are not the same
mom: but most people use java so why dont u just do it in java?
me: thats what ive been asking myself too in the past few weeks, why did i even accept this job

    People used to do java on the web.
    Remember Java applets?
    Glad those are gone...

    Tho it was fun to write exploits with these since it was full of security holes 😄

    @Froot my government still uses java applets for taxes related portal and stuff.. they say it is more secure.... I should fin about these exploits.

    @mundo03 Really depends on the government I guess.
    There's also different styles of security. What's secure for the site owner might not be for you.
    What I did was use applets to attack whoever visits my site since applets don't have the same sandbox as JS for example has. So you can read files, install shit and do other fun stuff without the user knowing 😄
    Most of its probablly fixed or different now tho, I did that like 10y back.
