Why does Visual Studio feel so special that if I add a file using File Explorer instead of through Visual Studio, it doesn't detect the file? Why does Visual Studio feel it's more important than the operating system itself?

There is a little refresh button at the top of the file tree panel :)

Because the file is not part of your project/solution. There is a "show all files" button in the solution explorer, toggle the button, right click the file and select "add file to solution".

@codenameszjames In this case, it's actually @thoxx who's right. But I knew all about this, it's just funny Visual Studio thinks it's more important.

@thoxx Yup! I knew that, I just think it's really funny how Visual Studio thinks it's more important then Windows and you have to manually add files to the Solution and not just the file structure.

@irene I was mostly trying to go along with the site and be funny.. I started coding C# in High School, I enjoy the language, and Visual Studio's a great IDE. It's totally fine and fun to poke fun at the things you like/love.
