Summary

An Chrome/Mozilla extension to make browser disappear without loosing the session and bring it back on mouse control.

Making it safe to browse internet at workplace.

Description
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostzilla Most of you might know Ghostzilla browser which ran inside a window and disappeared based on mouse movement. When using the cursor, a line was drawn on entire screen border, the browser would appear again. All without loosing the session. A similar concept of extension for Chrome/Mozilla to make it safe to browse internet at workplace. This is a paper plan right now and I am seeking a dev who can help me build this. I will work on and help with design, logic and testing.

    I did make some Mozilla extensions(pretty basic ones - not complex), but I was just able to use the front end languages. We would need to extend the real browser application to do what you want. That means that we need to find out how we can interact with it from outside.

    @-ANGRY-CLIENT- are can we start this?

    Even tho we can manipulate each tabs with the add-on, we can't get into the real tab control mechanism and how the browser does the temporary saving is also unknown to us. That's what I learned though.
    I would like to know if I am wrong here.

    @Floydian I am not sure. I can't do that rn. I'm in the car haha.

    @-ANGRY-CLIENT- damn!!! I already created the git repository. 😂😂😂😂😂

    @Floydian HAHAHA!

    Actually, we could do that as a seperate program. Like one that just opens and minimizes the browser window by swiping to a specific direction. By swiping to the top, we let it reappear and by swiping to the bottom, we let it disappear.

    But wouldn't that affect other things as well?
    What if I need to select a text or something? The window would keep popping up all the time. We would also need to add something else to that.

    @-ANGRY-CLIENT- that's a nice workaround.

    I would encourage you to try and install Ghostzilla and see how it works.

    Let's brainstorm on how to do it.

    @-ANGRY-CLIENT- oh c'mon...

    I always agree with people who thought process syncs with mine 😅😅😅

    I don't think Chrome and Firefox Extensions API support that.

    Maybe making as a standalone app is the only option, but I doubt it.

    @CozyPlanes everything is achievable.

    @CozyPlanes I would encourage you as well to install Ghostzilla and try it once.

    It's a cool concept.
