My new job (first dev job) issued me with a Macbook Pro and a 'Magic' mouse.
I don't know how the most profitable company in the world can make something so unerognomic. Billions of dollars invested in UX just to give me sore wrists. Then Apple makes their separate keyboard to the same exact dimensions as the Macbook's keyboard.

I don't get why these are so popular with devs. To customize anything to my liking I have to use applications not made by Apple.

And your Finder is unintuitive and useless.

    I've been in my current job for just under two years, and prior to this job, I had never used osx for more than a couple frustrated minutes. But I gave it a chance, and now I love it. The real pointer power, in my opinion, is with a track pad.

    I completely agree with you about the external keyboard having the same dimensions as the built in keyboard. Useless. I have a mechanical hooked to mine.

    @bahua I agree with you on the track pad. It's the best thing about Macbook's, and far better than any other laptop track pad.
    Having said that, the track pad is no match for a proper mouse and keyboard. I attached my own Kinesis Advantage keyboard to the Macbook. Keyboard shortcuts make me happy.

    Yeah, the magic mouse sucks. But if there's one thing I'd like to use on other OS, that would be the finder, I've always used the column view and I don't understand why getting it into other OS is such a pain

    Totally agree, i had to use a macbook for 2 days and they were the worst days of my life... Yeah the trackpad is the best part, but now in some pcs we have the ms precision touchpad that's pretty good too (on top dell, lenovo, surface... Devices)

    Macs used to be good 10 years ago but sadly poor decision on Apple's part changed then for the worse.

    @arcadesdude yeah when they use powerpc cpu, they were really worth it, i was planing to buy one, but too expensive for me.. Than they switched to intel and their quality hw/sw decreased, on the otherhand windows improved a lot, so with same performance no point to buy it anymore

    @arcadesdude

    Yeah, I was really disappointed the price didn't drop considerably when they dropped their excellent hardware and switched to Intel.

    apple mouses were always like a empty plastic yoghurt cup hold sideways.

    to bad logitech doesnt make mx518 / G400 anymore, they were my favorites.
