Neighbour sold his house. New people started renovating. They don't live here yet. The noise is unbearable. I left them a neighbourhood Karen note asking them to please tone the construction noise down since I work from home and literally can't hear or talk during some meetings. I'm extremely sensitive to some sounds, especially power tools and high pitching noises they make and it hurts my head. Fuck, I am so angry, this noise makes me want to bash their faces D:<

It causes great anxiety.

I hate these people. Fuck you and your renovations.

To be fair, as long as they are doing it during day hours and especially working hours, there is not much you can (or should be able) to do. Renovation simply makes noise and you can't really "tone down" the sound of a drill, that's a pretty unreasonable ask.

I feel your pain, I'm also working from home and neighbors constantly do something. We live in a flat/panel building, so there's several people on different levels always doing something and it's annoying and loud. But ultimately I understand it and I don't believe it's in my right to demand someone to not renovate their own homes just because I'm distracted at work. My solution is that I either use noise canceling headphones if it's bearable or I just go our and work from a café, which I prefer anyway. You have to suck it up and deal with it somehow, because it really is not within your rights to limit what someone else does during daytime, especially during work week

Work from somewhere else. They have a right to do that work to their property. The entire world won't change to meet your needs, but you do have control over what environment you're in, thanks to legs.

It’s a pain we all have to go through at some point, if you can, remove the note, you might regret it later. A few days of noise is worth being in good terms with your neighbours.

Maybe i don't have sensitivity to those sounds like you have so construction sounds for me are just like background noise
