How about we stop hating on other languages? Let people do what they love and don't discourage them for it.

PHP 7 apparently works really better than the previous versions

@irene doesn't hatred originate from jealousy and/or ignorance?
  • 2
Without HTML we would be pretty fucked
  • 3
@irene that is true, but unnatural stuff eventually originated from natural stuff

I mean, most of us sit behind a screen to earn money in order to buy food/shelter to survive.

Survival is a human trait, sitting behind a screen isn't (right?)

That being said. All i want to say is Sure hate all you want... But please just don't bother other people with it...

For more elephant, combine php and hadoop!

@irene Which is why there are no "artificial" things for me.
Computers are natural because they were invented by humans. Humans are natural.

    Natural? Unnatural? Pfft

Just let people hate on eachother and be happy

I used to think this way just by the sheer amount of negativity towards php in the community. Recently I saw just how powerful php can be for small businesses especially in Asian regions. I’ve seen very good programmers write very good php. Fuck this tribalism.

@PaulTheSaltyDev yeah let the people who hate be happy by ripping on other people's career... I mean sure... Everyone has a language they love and hate, but the hatred towards Java and php is just a... Dare i say 'meme' it's 'cool' to hate php...

Not pointing fingers towards anyone, you know if you do.

@incognito even though it has become a meme now there are still a lot of people out there who have legitimate concerns about the languages.
  • 1
@PaulTheSaltyDev i know, and they have legitimate reasons to do so, or like i said 'everyone has a language they love and hate' the but part is important because I'm not addressing the legitimate hatred, I address the fact that hating on some languages is becoming cool

And people do it because it's cool / fun

Neglecting the fact it's completely ripping on people's career... Some even spent 10+ years perfecting... just to get a 'lol'
  • 1
@incognito alright, I'm starting to get what you mean, the only point that I don't understand is the "ripping on people's career"
If someone has worked with a language for 10+ years and like it a lot surely they have enough confidence to not let 12 year olds on the internet get to them?

This "hating PHP"-meme is completely harmless fun. Sure, it's pathetic and annoying, but still harmless.
