Linux's differentiation between capital and lowercase letters upsets me and is one of my reasons for continuing to use MS-DOS or Microsoft Windows. “POOP.XXX” and “PooP.XxX” should be the same entity, damn it!

@FrodoSwaggins As someone with handwriting which is pretty shitty (it looks kind of nice but is nearly illegible), I frequently have to substitute lowercase letters for capitals and vice-versa. It's also just easier to work with; I don't have to remember “poop with a capital ‘p’”, because capitalisation doesn't matter, so I only need to remember “poop” to open the shortcut to part of my database or whatever it is. If I write a command on a sticky note, then I would like to be able to not have to piss around with exploring folders to figure out the capitalisation of the files. I want to be able to just type “START ..\..\SHIT\POOP.EXE” and not “DIR ..\..\SHIT”, then “START ..\..\SHIT\poop.exe”.

@FrodoSwaggins I didn't know that. Thanks for telling me something that I didn't know!
