Today I realiced, that @linuxxx probably doesn't see half of the websites as they are supposed to look like because he blocks everything from Google. Poor Google Fonts.

    HAHAHAHA...

    Digital font blindness.

    My cognitive load is precious, I don't want to filter through the junk data added by CSS. That's why my browser is configured to remove some formating. I don't know how to appreciate beauty anyway.

    realiced -> re-aliced -> re- @Alice -d 🤔
  • 7
    @RememberMe that means making something pink again
  • 6
    Ha! I add most of my fonts for real projects (not old ones) in a separate folder of my webserver.

    Also Ubuntu never looks bad as a fallback! Not like Arial.

    @Linuxxx is this true? xD
  • 1
    Can he see this?
  • 4
    @c3ypt1c Of course it is, and why wouldn't he? I do just the same
  • 4
    Today I realiced I haven't bathed for 2 days.

    Hahahahha, good one 😂😂
  • 1
    He could always just store them locally
  • 0
    @-vim- so he goes around and searches for every font that is used on a website to install it?
  • 0
    @Alice google fonts
  • 3
    @-vim- your comments make even less sense now.
  • 4
    There is an extension that grabs its own copy of Google fonts then replaced all requests to Google's servers with its own copy of the fonts. I would not be surprised if he did it that way.
  • 3
    @-vim- exactly. That's what I do
  • 1
    @Proximyst i block all Google stuff by default with pihole.
  • 0
    But.. why ?
  • 4
    @c3ypt1c Yup true! I wildcard block Google so yah haha 😊
  • 4
    @GTom Because Google is integrated within a mass surveillance program and thus disrespects every users privacy by default.

    And then I block it :)
  • 2
    @Proximyst Hold on, you do that too?!
  • 2
    @linuxxx Indeed. Google is pure evil, and shall not have anything on me nor my life. Ironically, they don't either, as I had my entire identity changed in the Norwegian registry :p
  • 2
    @Proximyst Damn! Just surprised because I hardly meet people who think alike on third one and even actually DO it!
  • 2
    @linuxxx I've felt so for quite a long while. My life is mine, and I choose what I wish to share, and that's how I've always been; I've therefore always sought alternatives to shit which goes all or nothing, and I've recently made two others IRL see the light of privacy
  • 2
    @Proximyst Awesomeness! What apps do you use for chatting and stuffs (stuffs meaning general other things) if I may ask?
  • 2
    @linuxxx I use IRC and Matrix for web chat, Signal for SMS and encrypted chat on phone, I use Gentoo Linux for my day to day OS, DuckDuckGo and Startpage for searches, and a 1TB external HDD for """cloud""" storage
  • 2
    @Proximyst Damn! Except for the gentoo part (KDE Neon right now) and except for the 1tb external drive (mine is 5tb haha) I about literally use the same! (I use Riot as a matrix client for the encryption)

    @Proximyst if you'd be interested (if not for whatever reason, no need to explain, that's perfectly fine), there is a signal group chat with a lot of like minded privacy/security devRanters!

    @linuxxx

    Can i have minor bit of favor for using Disconnect, Adblock and custom ROM on my android phone ?

    I am too in love with android apps( but I use custom rom!), also..I've got pretty satisfied with the whole Google ecosystem, even I am fully aware I am exchanging it for my presonal data.
  • 2
    @GTom Hmm, adblock runs their own ad network so I hardly consider it a fair ad blocker and except for the Google part (may Google die in a hole somewhere far far away from civilization all alone and in agonizing pain), you're not entirely doomed yet in my eyes ;)
  • 1
    @GTom I use a custom rom myself by the way but without Google apps 😊
  • 1
    @linuxxx how do you manage notifications with apps that depend on Googles notification service? Its something I cannot find my way around.
  • 2
    @linuxxx I'm up for a group, yeah. Haven't ever been in one before, tho, so I have no idea what to do
  • 2
    @Codex404 With Signal it appearantly maintains a background websocket-connection. Except for signal, I've learned to live without notifications :)
  • 2
    @Proximyst Awesome! And that's alright, you'll be able to join or initiate conversations fast I think! :D

    We'd have to exchange numbers for this, you could email me yours at linuxxx@tuta.io or if you'd like another way, let me know :)
  • 1
    @linuxxx ah thanks, same as me then.
  • 3
    @linuxxx I mean, you won't be able to call me at it through usual means if you're not nordic, so no problem in sharing it; +47 90866438
  • 3
    @Proximyst Awesome! I'll message you this evening :)
  • 2
    @Proximyst Messaged you!
  • 4
    @linuxxx too late. I came first. I already claimed her.
  • 5
    @Alice You claimed me far before Signal came into the picture
  • 2
    @Proximyst that sounds kinda kyute
  • 1
    Dry cough. :watching-u:
  • 2
    @Alice Of course, I'm part of the Pink cult after all
