Is it ethical to force engineers to take an ethics course focused solely on water pollution?

People in my year are working on self driving cars, automation and AI.

I guess if my employer ever decides to dump old computers in the river I'll be ready for it.

    Engineering? Yes.

    Water pollution is a valid issue that some students (<10%) may have to confront in their career.

    I'm just mad that the civil eng prof just made this all about her research despite it not being relevant to the vast majority of the class.
