Every time I say anything during standup that I find funny. We have a zoom meeting with our team in Ukraine, India, Nashville, all over and apparently I’m profane 😶. Real questions when did developers become such a breed of gutless, tea carefully sipping, soft handed, politically correct pussies.

    @irene aye wats up though lol. They shook their heads at me the other day when I made a joke about expecting Russian troops to storm their office. Is that in bad taste ?

    @irene I’m sorry to hear that! That really sucks. See no one likes me 😂😢

    @irene
    @Mousey

    "At least I don't have to jump around in the shower to get some water!"

    Or

    "Whoa, careful matchstick!"

    This is great 😂😂. Unfortunately In my corporate setting “fat shaming” would land me quickly in HR. I’d be called a bigot or some shit

    @irene
    Exactly.
    Didn't know it was so obscure.
    In Germany, its a pretty common comeback, if someone calls you fat.

    @M1sf3t thank you for your service. My wife’s in currently and she had trouble switching settings as well. I tel her to snap out of lieutenant mode before I drop and give her 50 lol

    I just sometimes forget that just because something’s tangentially related doesn’t mean it should be said. Like, when a schoolmate talks about how they want to own a goat, perhaps you shouldn’t respond with “Oh man, goats are awesome. I think it’d be a really good way to cover up that you’re a serial killer, since goats yelling sounds a lot like a human screaming.”

    @M1sf3t She's in the guard. Yeah she actually really surprises me cause you would expect her to wanna bounce a penny off the bed folding every morning but in her civilian life shes really layed back and lets me handle alot of things once she's readjusted. But man when shes in uniform, she becomes a very intimidating person lol.

    @AmyShackles well said haha

    @AmyShackles Ha! I like this one! But you are right, it's the same with existential despair. You can't say certain things in real life without ending in a bad place :D

    @irene that joke about gravity is hilarious, got any to roast skinny people like me? 😂 (no boundaries, I got skin thiccer than a programming book)

    Spicy jokes are best jokes 😊

    I really should snap back into it and treat people like lazy privates again. They might actually fucking listen.

    @Root in our country military service is mandatory for all healthy men and duty must be accomplished from age 18 earliest until age 30 latest (we also have that active/passive duty thing where you just go back for a month every year). So when someone comes back to the job after yearly duty all military youngsters start acting like that as a joke 😂

    @M1sf3t Just because I’ve *thought* about it being an acceptable means of disposal doesn’t mean I’d actually do it. (Aside: When one of your parents’ means of bonding while you were growing up was watching true crime shows and documentaries, you end up with a lot of random factoids that are uncomfortable for other humans to hear)

    @M1sf3t you are required to pay more taxes if you didn't serve. I think serving for your country is a great honor and a good thing to do, also teaches you a lot of things from making your bed to cleaning your shoes to camaraderie and using a rifle in the worst case of war. My country doesn't participate in wars, as we are known to be neutral. I am proud to serve my country especially with the mindset to protect civilians first. Many military branches help in natural disasters or are even ready to engage in case of pandemic diseases or oversaturation of hospitals. That readiness to protect my country at all cost makes me very proud and I am happy to earn a specialist rank next year!

    @irene we do have a mountain brigade yes, tough guys on skis (not kidding, actually an excellent war tactic)

    @M1sf3t wow that is really interesting to hear and it all makes a lot of sense. Thanks for teaching me more about how you guys handle it, appreciated.
