Being unemployed for the first time in 9 years is definitely more stressful than I thought. I have enough money to ride out a job search for about 8 months, but still. Not having recurring income for the first time is scary.

Welcome to the suck. 30 to 60 percent of all jobs on LinkedIn are fake. Especially in the software sector.

LinkedIn has people scamming companies to get jobs by making perfect resumes, having someone competent to get through the interviews, then someone gets the job (remote) and fakes it to get 2 months salary.

LinkedIn has fake job postings scamming people looking for jobs. Faking as being a recruiter, reviewing resume and saying its shit, pushing people to fiverr to pay to "fix" the resume.

LinkedIn has companies that post job with the intention of NEVER hiring to fake company growth.

LinkedIn has fake companies posting jobs to aggregate emails and resumes. To see how desperate job seekers are. Then selling this data to companies that actually hire people so they can low ball applicants.

Other jobs sites has job postings that haven't been legit for months/years.

The whole fucking job market is absolutely shit.

@YourMom I think I've gotten passed a lot of the LinkedIn riff-raff by filtering down to posts that were created within the last 1-4 hours.

@drewbie there have been jobs I was completely qualified for according to the requirements. Legit company and I had way more experience than required. Fucking crickets. I called them on the phone and the phone just rang forever with no answering service. Then they reposted the job. So I figured it was a company faking growth.

Another issue. If you don't get in the queue fast enough supposedly they never see your resume. But who knows, there is so much lies about ATS its insane.

Then recruiters use AI to check if resume matches job requirements. Then they complain about people using AI to match those requirements if they have them. People are using AI because they have to get into the queue faster. Its a giant cluster fuck on there.

The amount of cunts on linkedin that will say the most unprofessional shit and nobody calls them out. I did notice that nobody upvoted their vitriol. So I guess there is some hope.

I cannot imagine making a political statement demonizing political stances on a job site. I will do it here to fuck with ostream, but this isn't a typical site.
