reading a book on emotional intelligence and it's quite dystopian that it's funny. I got the name of it from a highly sensitive person book praising it (so you'd think they would be sensitive and empathetic, and be able to perspective-take and all that jazz)... he also keeps talking about how cognitive capability doesn't mean better social skills but better social skills means better cognitive ability. lol

so you knew he was smart because he collaborated / taught you how he thought... and this isn't the only excerpt where the author praises overtime, commitment, etc. but then the guy gets fired for having no friends. lol

    I guess he considers himself to have better social skills? Weird how that works. Dunning Kruger anyone?

    I think I had that issue when I was younger. Now I realize I am a dumb fuck. I don't know jack about shit.

    he seems to advocate for social manipulation and tries to do quite a bit of it in his book imo

    The guy got fired because he had no friends... interesting.

    At previous company there was this lead. He once told me something along the line of "We can work together even though we don't hang out drinking beer after work.". Smart man.
