I still have 8gb in my desktop, never thought I'd need more but as of December I found this is no longer the case :'(

It might be that the games I play don't really take that much, but I'm doing just fine over here with a FX-4130, GTX 660, and 8gb of DDR3-1333 RAM on my "gaming" system. So far I just haven't needed to upgrade.
Also Metro actually runs just fine on my system? It's been a bit since I've played so I could be remembering it wrong, but I remember it running pretty well. -
Haxk20449322y@infernalempress I forgot to turn on mesa cache so that might have been the issue. Havent tried palying it yet with it turned on.

Haxk20449322yCompiling latest kernel right now so cant play and its 00:30 already so no point in gaming anyways.

Haxk20449322yIssue was shaders being put to RAM instead of mesa cache.
*/RAM usage goes to 80% now only.
How can metro 2033 eat 8gb of ram just on loading ? This is fucking crazy. I mean really fucking crazy. I really have to do ram upgrade. 32gb is max for my lappy so I will do that. Not only will I get 30% more performance due to dual channel but also I will not be running out of ram ffs.
