Coming from console gaming, is it possible for me to get a decent gaming laptop for under a grand. I've been looking at Lenovas legion but I honestly know hardly anything about shopping computers despite being a programmer. Its specs are here https://lenovo.com/us/en/...

Why laptop? Get a decent pc. You'll get twice the specs for lower prices, not to mention more effective cooling.

Its going to be used for my our videography/photography business as well which will be on the go half the time or else I would be all about a desktop

I would recommend a Dell G3 or something if you can get it under a grand
Would recommend staying away from Lenovo for anything except for their business laptops (ThinkPad etc.). Their regular laptops are flimsy crap with terrible support. I speak from personal experience.

@RememberMe follow up question: the lenovas coming with an i7 chip while the dell comes with an i5. How big a difference will that make with a gaming experience

Laptop's gonna run like $4000 for specs you can get in a desktop for $1200.
