IT student of last year here. I use all this bloody expensive software like R# ultimate, VS Proffesional, VMware, InteliJ even my Windows 10 and free services like Pluralsight, SendGrid, GitHub or DigitalOcean in special student plans(like unlimited private repos on GitHub) without paying a single cent. Scared now what will I do when I will need to buy ide plugin for 200$...

    if you got all those freely this means that there are ways to get plugins or fork of this plugin freely. By any way there are always free way alternative to paid solutions. That's the way #openSource world stack . Give more details perhaps I can help.

    intelliJ has a community edition, as does VS I beleive.

    Why do you think they offer us that for free ? they want you to become reliant on their stuff .

    Now that you it got the basics, free yourself by learning the free alternatives of all this paid tools. Do not let yourself get stuck knowing to use proprietary tools only. It will be by far too costly.

    R# isn't free and can't be replaced easly, at least not all of it's functions. Most of those stuff are replaceable that's sure thing but you know how is it going from luxury to normal life.

    @superi0r Yeah I use PHPStorm etc from JetBrains student. Not looking forward to losing them, but good whilst it lasts :)

    Why would you have to lose anything? If you make a living using these tools, they're all dirt cheap.

    @DevotedSniper you're forgetting the other key thing about Microsoft developers, they generally earn more!
