Do you code with the lights on or off?

Personally, I code with them off, it helps me focus on just what I'm working on and nothing else.

on, it prevents headaches for me.
but i agree that it helps to focus with the lights off.

    Either.
While I'm working I don't notice anything else exists unless it interrupts me. In which case I turn merderous.

@Root lol merder should totally be the correct spelling instead of murder

@erandria How the hell did that happen? I don't think I've ever spelled anything that poorly before. 😖

@Root it's fine, like if I think about every horror movie where murder is enounced, in my mind it always sounds like merder.

i've got black lights and neon strobes going... I thought that's what everyone did 🤷🏻‍♂️

Off if I can help it, but there's always that one colleague who insists on turning them on.

@Root I am so sorry to be the one telling you that, Root, but you are French.

Main lights off but some smaller lamps behind the screen and around the room on

I prefer the lights on. For me putting on the right music is more important 😉

If I code at night I turn the room's lights off and turn on a small desk lamp behind my monitor to make the contrast between the monitor and the background less eye straining. Helps to avoid headaches while still maintaining focus.

I like to do it at night in the dark. Using f.lux or some other light filter really helps with headaches too. Dark theme all the way.

On. Used to do off, but switched after my eyes started burning every night.
