I was looking for a newer and smaller laptop than the 17" I have laying around. New was too expensive, so I finally decided for a refurbished Lenovo ThinkPad T440p (14", i7 4700MQ, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD) for a fair price. I was looking for 15", but the price was too good and 14" seems handy enough to take it alone with me.

    How much did it cost?
    I own a T550 with a bigger screen, 16GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, i7-5600U (not the best processor in the world, I know) for around 750€. What made me get it is its outstanding battery life.

    @RantSomeWhere Yeah, my thoughts exactly. It should come in this afternoon *rubs hands in expectation*

    @redman nice!

    If you ever feel the need to replace your trackpad with a proper one, there are videos and tutorials on YouTube. The stock touchpad lacks physical buttons.

    @RantSomeWhere Thanks for the tip!

    @RantSomeWhere Okay. Laptop arrived but was far from refurbished aka as good as new 😒. Traces of stickers in plain sight, some keys damaged on the backside (behind them are the screws to remove the keyboard) and LOTS of scratches on/around the dvd tray. Bummer.

    So tomorrow I'm taking it to the postal office and it is going "return to sender" for a refund.

    Looked online again, found a nice looking site from a computershop 35 minutes driving away that had ex-lease notebooks from HP. Went there, shop closed. WTF ...

    @redman that hurts. Yeah, buying refurbished laptops is always a gamble. Was lucky to get mine with only a couple of small scratches on the lid

    Funny, the new laptop arrived and looks awesome. It has a black lid and I have some stickers to put on it. But for some reason, I am reluctant to do so ... *wonders why*
