@dontbeevil i hope you saw the part where ms has 11201 vulnerabilities.
Also the only way ms is winning is because they are splitting the versions in different vulns. And not counting ie/edge vulns with their respective versions. Ms easily has more than debian.
Why do i get a feeling that you took the first stat you found and saw that windows isn't #1 and pasted it in?

@fuck2code it's not a ms site, why i gotta a feeling that you just saw the first things that you could use against ms and come back to comment

@oreru mmm oook... An alternative fact is the guy that sits between the pc and the desk

(I'm only talking at an organizational scale here)
Here's the reason why MS, including all it's components, has more vulns than any other: it's used the most than any other platform. If I had to work and find some kind of vuln or a 0 day why would go around looking that into Mac or Linux even? Windows makes the most sense

And even though there are such high amount of vulnerabilities present, the threat protection that it offers to its enterprise clients is huge! Even if the machines are unpatched or a 0 day exists, it wouldn't be able to work due to these protections that it offer

@fuck2code cvedetails is one of the most reliable sites when it comes down to seeing which platform, product, and version has which vulnerabilities.

Vulns are always supposed to be split according to the versions they affect, although here they decided to split windows into various versions and not the rest which is weird

@oreru so i bet that you didn't count also the duplicate vulnaribilities in different versions of windows, yes because there are many duplicates... Also did you consider that merging ie and edge makes no sense, they have a total differnt code base, the only thing that thay share is the base of html and js engine (of course on edge was devloped and improved), one more main fact is that ie support lower level access code with activex etc, edge no.

    P. S.
One more thing is to take in account is the market share, people is much more interested to find a vulnerability in a +90% os, than a 5% mac os... I really hope that mac os and linux will reach at least 20% each

@dontbeevil if you seriously are suggesting that 8000 vulnerabilities or more are duplicate you should think again. What about all the linux distros? Are you gonna argue that there are dupes and they shouldn't be counted?
Also debian has 10 versions so would that mean that debian it should only 200 vulnerabilities right?
@oreru don't bring trump into this, it makes you look like you are a sheep

@dontbeevil Why is it that basically every time I see you in a rant, you're poorly defending windows and/or microsoft again? And badly losing the argument? It really gets tiring.
  • 1
@Root how exactly I'm poorly defending Windows? Truth hurts? Why you all don't complain when people write things like: "windows sucks, switch to linux" without reasons, arguments and even when us proved that in that case was not even Windows fault? In tgat case is totally fine right? Because you agree with that
  • 1
@dontbeevil Right, willing obliviousness. I forgot that was a thing.
  • 0
@Root so you admit that says windows sucks even when it's proven that's not his fault is fine... Thanks to prove my point
