To those people who want to post a meme... Just don't. Most likely it's already been posted... And if it hasn't it's not contributing anything anyways. We all know how to find funny memes on the internet. Maybe just post something original instead of fucking up the content.

Ok so everyone insisted we start tagging shitpost so it seems only fair to tag these devRant Service Announcements. Maybe drsa for short?

It would probably help to just run a weekly "favorite meme" thread, so they can scroll through real quick before posting the one they intended to add to it.

@M1sf3t I can definitely get behind a drsa tag...but is that enough?

@tnuhb who knows these things? People do weird shit 🤷🏻‍♂️

@M1sf3t weird shit is welcomed. This isn't weird shit...it's garbage reposts.
  • 1
@tnuhb maybe gamify it, whoever gets the most upvotes that week gets their meme posted with the new thread and tag the next. Might could even mark anything posted outside the weekly as spam by default and let the joke/meme tag be for just jokes and the competition 🤔

@M1sf3t not a bad idea...I would argue for monthly though instead of weekly.

Memes bad reeee (@Jilano does this count?)

    Content nazis these days 🙄🙄

@tnuhb nah there wouldn't nearly be enough winners in a monthly for the younger generations, you'll end up having to hand out participation trophies to prevent a riot

@Stuxnet you are a part of the problem

@M1sf3t how else will they mature?
  • 2
    @tnuhb Sweet deal man.

I'll make sure to post more just for you :)
  • 1
@Stuxnet of course you will... And I'll die happily supporting my cause of trying to keep this community from becoming Twitter.
  • 3
@tnuhb you could also die happily not giving a fuck what people post and using the filters and algo. (BuT pEoPlE pOsT tHeM uNdEr RaNtS. We all hate that part so 🤷🏻‍♂️)

But hey man, you do you. I'm sure you'll enjoy when the block feature is actually working, I know I will!

@Stuxnet eh die happily giving a fuck or not giving a fuck. For now I am happy with giving a fuck. It changes all the time.

@Stuxnet i would actually like to see less duplicates as well, simply because memes in general take forever to load and I like to see the originals and off-site copies.

If nothing else split the meme and joke tag so you can load them all at one time or skip them in a bad area and still see the jokes.

I really think a weekly thread would be a simpler solution tho.

A it doesn't require changing the interface

B those eager beavers that are most guilty of quickly posting something they found then taking off for another few days will probably get into the fact that they can easily stroke their vanity be checking out the ++'s as they scroll down the thread and thus let them know whether what they're about to or just posted has already be put on there.

@M1sf3t ahhhhhh! Here, have a gold star AND a smiley! ⭐️🙂

@M1sf3t I mean yeah the shitty ones that get posted a lot are annoying af.

But saying don't post them at all is fucking stupid imo lol

@Stuxnet it's called compromise my friend. What do you expect to work better, simply running up a flag announcing you want to parley or immediately returning shots back across their bow?

I know these terms seem ancient and old fashioned but some of y'all had better start picking them up lest they fall by the wayside when I'm gone.

After all, it's probably only a matter of time before they decide Im too much of a nuisance and send someone out here to shut me up.

@Stuxnet (I guess it does, yes)

People can post wherever they want as long as I don't have to see it.

Is there a meme search engine available or people just randomly post memes as they find them? It is annoying as well as stimulating.
