what do you recommend me as a pentest distro?

    Kali linux is anything but greedy on resources. If you think it's bloated/too resource heavy then use a minimal, headless Debian box with no GUI and just add the Kali repos then install what you need.

    You don't need a pentest distro probably. Just use the tools

    You don't need a specific distro. Literally almost any will work. The reason so many people use kali, is because it's optimised for pentesting, and have many tools pre installed

    Parrot. Especially if you're looking for something lighter than Kali.

    If you need pentesting distro from the start you haven't learnt how to use the tools yet.

    Start small and learn basics. Oh yeah and you have to know networking to its bone. How packets work etc. If you think you can do it without that then think again.

    I like docker containers for pentesting. There are some usefull ones oute there but I create one for my personal needs.
