    "OMG WHY THERE'S TEXT DEFILING IN THE SCREEN"

    I really wish one of my teachers would have said that.

    Omg not text. We should have buttons and dials! Not text that is dangerous...

    I was on a plane using my tiny netbook computer running bohdi linux. I decided to write some scripts out of boredom. Apparently one of the other passengers was so uncomfortable with my "hacking" that they called the flight attendant which came and asked what I was doing.

    "Writing a script to clean duplicates out of my contact lists."

    "Oh."

    @enigmamachine That's exactly what a terrorist would say! 😆

    @enigmamachine If you were an artist that paints something, no one would do something like that but when it comes to computers everyone loses their shit. People tend to scare the things they dont know but cmon its 2019 you moron. Do you think every single electronic device works with magic?

    Not stupid, they lack technical knowledge. That doesn't make you better than them. You'd be completely ignorant in a different class like say medicine.

    Idk why devs are so arrogant. Horrible culture. Computers are just tools we use. Smh.

    @larrynikx There is a difference between stupid and ignorant. If a person can't understand that computers don't run on magic or refuses to learn what computers do when every part of life saturated with them... I would argue that in 2019 "computers are magic boxes" and "plaintext/terminal is for hacking only" is more stupid than ignorant.

    @enigmamachine Yes and not understanding Linux boot messages is not stupid. That is my point.

    Devs have an elitist culture. The average person doesn't care if you can boot Ubuntu on your machine. Or you can do everything in emacs.

    They probably know how to write an email and edit a document which is expected. Even if they lacked that skill they wouldn't be stupid. You need to get that.

    @larrynikx I think there is a threshold for stupid.

    Don’t understand Linux boot message? Normal.

    If you see someone typing in mono space and think they are a terrorist? Hmm...

    If the computer has performed an “illegal operation” and you start watching the windows for cops coming to arrest you? Stupid.
