In contact with an skype agent to remove my account, but funny thing is, she/he/it says I need to have access to my account, which I don't. Like, why would I contact you if I could delete it myself?

Like, Microsoft is full of idiotic fucktards. Dude, I'm not gonna give you my phone number. Period. I have the username and the password and that should be enough for you to let me close the fucking account, which I haven't even used once.

On another note, German companies should smarten up tttand stop using skype! Like, ASAP!

@irene I had to use skype for an interview. Else, I really really wouldn't have.
  • 1
In the end, they did not help.

My account is left locked. When do they have to delete it due to inactivity anyways?
  • 1
    Exactly! Switch to Messenger instead!
  • 3
    @netikras Facebook messenger? Hell nah!
  • 4
@NoMad I guess my comment needed an explicit /s :D

I'm super anxious now due to this super frustrating and stupid multi-hour written conversation I've been having with skype agents.

I hope they all go to hell and die there.
  • 1
@netikras oops! 😬 The tone didn't come through.
  • 1
Switch to discord or slack they're better
  • 1
@ACreepyPony if only switching was a choice...

This literally is a team effort of a shitshows. I'm using it because other retards are using it.
  • 1
Won't they already have your phone number if they are asking for it to verify you. 😕.

If not, you could just give 'em a disposable number from mailinator.com. it can receive texts only.
  • 1
Actually, I wish slack or discord would make a skype Plugin. Like, to communicate between skype and discord or slack users. I'd totally not go anywhere near skype ever again.
  • 1
@kayb01000010 yes and no. They do link numbers with accounts.
And I opened the account with email.
  • 1
So you could give a temporary number cuz you are just deleting the account 😕
  • 1
@kayb01000010 yes. But then again the account is tied to my official email account.

You see, the issue is I'm not anonymous. If I were, I'd just abandon the account and not give a flying fuck.
  • 2
these people are efing crazy. If they can't verify you with the number, why the FUCK are they asking for it (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
  • 2
@kayb01000010 info hoarding. Microsoft never learned how to do it right.
  • 2
Well it would take about 2 years for an inactive account to be deleted. And that email info is permanently etched on the servers...
  • 3
@kayb01000010 I'd hope two years would be all it takes. Facebook still emails me about an account I closed nearly five years ago. Lol.
  • 1
You could tell him that you don't use a phone. Just slack and discord on the laptop 😆. If you had any you would have signed up with the phone number.

I've had no end of problems with MSFT support. I've had to throw my toys out of the cot to get it escalated. When they do they someone with the skills/tools/whatever gets assigned and it's sorted the next day.
  • 1
@NoMad yes, i still get 'people you may know' and 'this is what you're missing from friends' emails 😅
  • 1
@NoMad BTW, you sure it's not an Indian scammer 😂 ?
  • 1
@kayb01000010 did that. They even told me and I quote "you can use a friend or family member's phone number" which should be a crime to begin with. They said ask for anybody else's phone number and I said "I opened the account with an email address. Why can't I confirm it with the same email address?"
Their response: "because that's our procedure".
  • 3
@NoMad well, that IS a crime. Sorry dude; this sucks bad.
  • 1
@platypus I can't be bothered. From now on whoever says skype, I'll tell them my account was hacked and skype just locked me out of it. I guess this would start forcing these companies to use better services.
  • 2
@NoMad Or publish the password on Reddit and let every fuckwit on the planet screw with it until MSFT decide to get it sorted.
  • 2
@platypus using an official email address. Every fuckwit will fuck with that too. Can't do it
  • 3
@platypus would LOVE that if only my official email was not linked. Also, if I'm not mistaken I used a common pass that is the same as one I use for other services I don't really want to give a fuck about.

I had a few accounts on "dontbugme" when that was a thing.
  • 3
    This 😂
  • 1
    @kayb01000010 😂😂😂😂😂😂
    I so relate!

    Stop using Skype
    Use slack
  • 0
To use Skype it's not mandatory to register an account already for a while, they could sent you a link and you could join even from the browser
  • 0
@aggelalex it's funny how slack manage to consume more resources than Teams even providing less features
  • 0
I don't get it. Why don't you give them your phone number and verify yourself. You said german, so you can use dsgvo to get this information deleted from their servers anyway.
  • 0
@KDSBest can't give them my phone number because of one too many reasons. But you're missing the point. And I don't want to be the one pissing on your parade, but they don't delete shit.
Plus, the issue is not verification because I already did that through email.

And the point you're missing is: They said I could open this account just with email. Now they say email is not enough and they need more info.

On that absolutely stupid point you made: next time you want to send me a response, attach your dickpic as well because I say so. (you're good with made-up reasons to give personal info? Then you have no problem complying!)

@NoMad why do you think they don't delete it? Too much media? There are enough people giving info for free. Your number isn't worth the risk.
  • 1
I think Skype is the only app I've ever used in that it mimics human mood swings. If it's having a bad day it just fucks you over and the mic never works, or the call never comes through, despite you and the other person frantically messaging that you're updating drivers blah blah blah. Then, the next time you use it, everything's sweetness and light. For that shit I don't need a boyfriend, I have Skype to fuck up my life. ;`]
  • 0
@KDSBest what risk? I literally can abandon my account and they are legally binded to anything that happens from this point onwards because they're the ones who didn't delete my account per my request.

Why do I think? I'm not gonna sit you through a whole Security Basics 201 class. They don't. Microshit hoards info, and if they didn't they wouldn't have an issue let me verify with my email again.
  • 0
@NoMad I disagree and you shouldn't act like this (Looking down on me for example). They are legally bind to remove this data, if you identified yourself correctly an e-mail isn't safe to do that.
  • 0
@KDSBest I disagree with you and you probably make some of those user unfriendly shits that gives five crapchas a minute just to be "safe".
  • 0
@NoMad I really don't know what I've done to you to act like this.

    @KDSBest cool. Continue down voting.
