Mfw devs in my shitposting circles look down at the thought of grad school and are teasing me, a senior developer, for even considering grad school.

I'm not into it for the promotion, okay? I just love the idea of studying and stretching the limits of Computer Science.

It never hurts to study more, you can get published for your articles, your work recognised outside github and stack overflow AND the chance to network

I got my grad degree! I still ponder getting my PhD too!

Studying is fun what is wrong with some people?

Go for it, grad school gives you so many opportunities to do just that

When I was in school and applied for a Bachelor in CS, one of my smart ass class mates told me that it's literally something you can study at home on the internet. Even though I wouldn't dis-agree with him completely, you're not just going to University to accumulate information, but also to meet like-minded people and build connections.

Some people never learned in school, so they're afraid of those who keep pursuing knowledge.
Why should *we* limit ourselves just because *they* couldn't do it?

    Consider moving to research.

They dont stretch anything in most of grads. You probably wanna check ripe teen asses in university.

I'm considering doing that (studying applied informatics) as well in one or two years, provided my health situation allows it. Maybe part time studying, part time working. The campus is just 15 minutes away from my flat, fortuitously.

I have 2½ years of professional training and more than 4 years total professional experience. I don't really care about the paper, I just want to learn!
