    That’s why I learned it (and still use VIM.) I got tired of trying to install an editor on every system I sat down at. The irritating thing is how that nano trash seems to be installed on all the minimal distro now and you have to install vim... wtaf it was ALWAYS the editor that was there by default. I blame systemd since that’s what everyone else likes to blame for the state of *nix. (Even though it has zero to do with this)

    @ddickenson You seem to imply Vi and Vim are the same but there's a world of difference between being able to navigate text with the arrow keys and doing it the vi way.

    You are correct of course. While I do use vim, and occasionally vi, I do not even come close to using it to it’s full capability. Walk before you run I suppose...
