I want to touch microcontrollers again. I feel like there is always something missing when I'm coding, like I need to touch an "actual thing" or make/see things move if that makes any sense at all.

    Microcontrollers: YES TOUCH ME DADDY

    (Seriously though, pick up an Arduino and some components and have at it!)

    @RememberMe Looking at RS Components right now. Looks like they already resumed deliveries. Good to know.

    @rutee07 got any particular project in mind?

    @RememberMe I want to automate the changing of water in the hydroponics box I ordered and then some monitoring. Also found that Pip Boy project online which looks pretty cool but I guess I'll start with something small.

    The last thing I did back in College was a remote-controlled Tamiya tank with a tiny camera. :D

    @rutee07 something small sounds good yeah (for once :p)

    Holy shit, RC tanks, how did I not know about these
    Brb, ordering

    Oh also, could you link which hydroponics box you're getting and what's it like once you set up? I'm interested in trying it out too.

    @RememberMe Something like this: https://shopee.ph/product/63839296/...

    It hasn't arrived yet.

    @rutee07 the same thing is $110 here
    Fuck it I'm making my own kit.

    Edit: nvm, found one for $33
    Still making my own.

    You can touch my macrocontroller ^^

    Grab an Arduino mega or something, enough ports to do a lot of crap.
    Hell you can toss it into water.
  • 1
    Do they brown out when you touch them?
  • 1
    @molaram Sometimes the tissue paper only has 2-ply and I forget to wash my hands after shitting, okay?

    If you want to see something, just grab one arduino. Really easy to get into. *if you know what I mean*

    If you want to do something more softwarish, you can always get a raspberry pi.

    Teensy 4, 600MHz, $20

    Uses Arduino dev environment and has a nice support forum. Teensy micros are some of the best ones out there. The creator of Teensy also has huge contributions to the Arduino project itself.

    @rutee07 For the last time, just because that whore house had that old sign saying "college" doesn't mean you went to one...

    Also, I request, no, I demand pictures of your farm once everything is set.
  • 1
    @Jilano But it was blinking "COLLEAGUE", it must be legit and there are sexy professors and College girls.

    Boy, do you miss the farm I sent you to when you were a kid? I will definitely show you this one. Hopefully, the plants don't die upon seeing me.

    @rutee07 Still doesn't count!

    And yes, it was great! I loved playing with it, that is until the police came and took everything away...

    @rutee07 I got a pretty complex side project based on a microcontroller - no libraries, really bare metal as per the manual. Quite refreshing. ^^

    @Fast-Nop Is it part of your sex dungeon, something more elaborate than this? https://aliexpress.com/item/...
  • 1
    @rutee07 Haha, nah it's actually unrelated to sex. Though I got a sex machine of course - "embedded" so to say. :P
