F*cking Apple Maps Imagery Collection car just passed trought my street.

This camera is so high above the car that it actually took pictures of my house above the hedge. (image from the internet, but it was the same car)

What the f*ck is this ? Do I come to your f*cking campus to take pictures above the hedge. Yeeeeah, we all know what would happen if I do so.

F*ck you Apple ! F*ck you !

You could send them an email demanding that they blur what's there.

Check google street view, I'd say your hedge has already been violated 😅

Yeah that camera is definitely to high up, I would not expect any stranger to gain that perspective, so chances are you'd catch me wanking. Not cool.

Wth is that thing on rear left rim of a car?

@myss could be a rotary encoder to get exact distances

    @AleCx04
Someone was standing naked on the window and is now concerned. *Looks up apple maps car schedule*

    @AleCx04 Who gives a fuck ? Me !

How would you react if you find someone with a camera taking pictures of your garden above your hedge ? It is not a matter of having anything to hide.

It's the freedom they take to put a picture of your house on the Internet. I don't care of my house being visible on the street, I just don't want it on earth Apple Maps.

Now, anyone having my address (which I put on resumes for ex) can lookup what my house looks like, which dog I have, which car I drive.

This is a norm nowadays. Since social networks, the private stuff became more and more public and now, everything become public by default, unless you decide to ask for your privacy to be respected.

Does not seams right to me.

@lanfiro ever heard of google earth? Or worse, planet?
  • 1
Depending on the legislation where you live, it possibly was illegal. Whether they publish it blurred or not doesn't matter if taking the photo itself is already illegal.
  • 2
This type of thing legitimately drives me nuts. I think google street view and anything any company is doing like it should be illegal.

@FrodoSwaggins fr, fuck google maps. I like being lost in shitty neighborhoods on cities i have never been to before
  • 0
@lanfiro oh shit actually snooping into your zone does sound fucky tbh man
  • 1
@AleCx04 there are nothing but private properties there. If we had stores or POI around, why not, that would be benefit for people looking for them. But there are just houses.
  • 0
@lanfiro yeh I get you man, shit does sound intrusive af

@AleCx04 I don’t even have a phone and I don’t have this problem at all. I rode my bike across the country without a phone or a map 7 years ago.

Maps is useful, street view is not. It’s an excuse for them to take pictures of your house.
  • 5
@FrodoSwaggins aye! that should be the new norm! we should wll follow your steps and shit! because your way is the best y'know? its the most logical approach and shit!!

    * throws phone out the window
  • 6
Ouch! Some bastard hit me in the head with a phone.

... hmm screens still good, mine now, thanks 😊
  • 1
@AleCx04 I don’t think everyone needs to do things my way. But it’s at the least proof that we don’t need these things.

But whether or not you believe that has nothing to do with whether people taking pictures of your house is questionable. If I was taking pictures of someone’s house and they saw me do it, legal or not they’re calling the cops. You know that’s true, so then why are we ok with google doing it... and then posting those pictures publicly!!?
  • 2
@FrodoSwaggins could have said that before I slammed my phone against the wall and threw my pc out the window for having chrome installed. Thanks man.
  • 4
@AleCx04 what is this, target practise? That one nearly killed me.
  • 2
@C0D4 remember to burn both items since they both have Google stuff in them!
  • 1
@AleCx04 oh, but I've already jumped into the Google bed. Sadly it's a necessary evil in my semi autonomous world.

You're like ten years late with your complain
  • 2
@AleCx04 your rhetoric is fucking stupid. That’s sugar coating it. You’re not even defending people taking pictures of your house, just creating enough noise to prevent intelligent arguments from being heard.
  • 2
@FrodoSwaggins lmfao read again and tell me your autism is dense enough to not notice that we were just playing 🤣🤣🤣🤣 fucking hell man you really have 0 sense of humor. I wasn't trying to make fun of you or give you shit, or even give logical arguments, how you didn't notice shit was a joke is just beyond me.

@AleCx04 see I love this. There’s a difference between taking serious issues seriously and not having a sense of humor. I get tired of people saying caring about privacy and security is stupid. Sorry but if that passes for funny in 2020 it’s fucking stupid. Jokes are funny.

    @FrodoSwaggins lmfao that's fine

    @AleCx04
Here's my Montana summer home/rich bastard fallout shelter

@SortOfTested that looks delicious, got room for more?
  • 0
@AleCx04 don’t worry other people thought it was funny. You can’t please everyone, but you can definitely accuse them of not having a sense of humor if they think your jokes aren’t funny~~

@FrodoSwaggins its ok bruh 🤣 as long as you're fine then I am fine. Peace ✌️

Thank you guys for clearing things up. TBH I was not sure about the jokes and I was quite sad to see this come to a bit of trash talk.

    Peace.
  • 0
@lanfiro pretty much the reason I didn’t think the jokes were funny is I don’t have a sense of humor. I mean what other reason could there be for someone not laughing at something?
  • 0
@lanfiro its really easy to fuck with that dude. Mfker gets heated af on the internet. Still with the "iT wAs NoT fuNNy" bs lmao. I sometimes just tell him whatever just to see if he will quit crying and shit.
  • 0
@lanfiro yeah the thing is I cry and get upset all the time and it’s because mean people say mean things about me boo boo :”) oh I’m just so sad.

Don’t listen to this guy. If you try to have an insightful discussion he just says you’re stupid and crazy and that you cry about everything. It’s easier to do that than engage about serious issues, so I get it.
  • 0
@FrodoSwaggins yup, you are right man. You win lmao 🤣🤣
  • 0
@AleCx04 no you win! Your jokes are super funny and they made me cry! I’m really stupid and you can tell by how I try to make an intelligent argument and then get made fun of for it! Thank YOU for showing us the way :)

@FrodoSwaggins homie, to begin with and I will be real with you, my original comments were not even meant as an insult or anything of the sort when we started with all this shit, you tried calling out the rhetoric being "fucking stupid" and saying you sugar coated it. You this uptight in real life? All users that have been here for a while fuck with each other in similar ways. Just clarifying because you really do seem heated.
  • 1
@AleCx04 I would like to clarify where I’m coming from here. So I understood immediately from your first post that your are joking, but the subject matter of the joke is critical to how I’m going to process it. It’s a ridicule on internet users obsessing over privacy issues. But when I see this kind of thing (and there’s context here, we have both been on devrant for a long time) I understand that these jokes are made because you legitimately don’t think that being obsessed with internet privacy is reasonable. But that’s me, I do that.

So I’m addressing that attitude not your comments directly. When you dismiss everything serious with more jokes, it’s like having your shields up. That’s a rhetorical tactic to avoid facing issues. This issue is something that I just happen to take really seriously because I have SEEN what happens when it’s taken to the logical conclusion. No I’m not upset and I don’t cry about this stuff but I try to get through to people and it’s pretty frustrating when they (you) have shields up.

Bottom line I just want people to care or even notice that this is happening because insisting that these aren’t real issues is why companies and governments get away with this.

The frustration comes from “I don’t want to joke about this.” The subject matter of your jokes has heavy implications and joke or not it does take a side rhetorically.
  • 2
@FrodoSwaggins I get your point man, I do, jokes aside and with no intention of snark or anything of the sort. I do appreciate and respect your stand and didn't mean to ridicule your position in terms of internet privacy, or any other topic for that matter. Seriously man I really meant no harm. Peace?
  • 2
@AleCx04 of course. That’s all I wanted to hear from you, and I feel the same way for you too.

This is some serious issue! I mean people who find this normal is serious issue. There should be complaint lodged against this incident.

We are already fucked up with privacy, that doesn't mean randomly capturing photos at this height which not just captures photo of house but also the moment of what's happening inside house.

This data is humongous and dangerous to feed any NN.

Don’t you have a baseball bat or axe laying around, both will work

For a minute I was thinking about showing my ass when they pass by the house so they have to blur it.
