Is programming actually electricity manipulation? 🤔

I'm still not over the fact that game/simulated lights use real electricty.

Is thinking about it actually electricity manipulation?

    @Pyjong does sneezing cause short-circuits?

I'd say the term electricity is more of a phenomenon than something you could manipulate. But in a sense we are actualy juggling electrical and magnetic fields around.

    Computer go bzzzzzzrrrrr

@Pyjong It turns out yes, we were manipulating electricity since our birth or even before that too.

If you want to port the term "programming" to other timelines where we program with say, water driven CPUs then no. But since all programs are compiled into electricity driven CPU languages then yes.

    English
Programing is the act of defining a set of steps that follow certain rules.
Example, The act of learning anything is programming!! It’s a superset

But Software Engineering, that is actually a subset of programming in which you program the hardware in that case you are manipulating electricity

    Also i am a virgin

@hardfault you are ignoring the fact your brain and muscles work on electricty.

@melezorus34 yeah but most of that is involuntary, you are not actively manipulating it , it happens even if you are not programming

That sentence is eqvivalent to PM saying that he is programming because he controls a dev team.

The closest I'm willing to go here is the CPU architect/builder. As @hardfault points out it's involuntarily. The machine manipulates electricity for you (still more like using it but hey) the program is too far removed in my opinion. It's like telling someone to drop a brick off the bridge. You did not manipulate gravity, you just told a tool what to do.

    Isn’t everything? 🤔

I secretly refer to it as datamancy, which makes me a datamancer. Google is my grimoire, SO is my necronomicon.

I'd rather say it's customer manipulation.

    It's actually fire bending
