    To paraphrase Demolition Man:

    “all restaurants are Taco Bell”

    to:

    "all programming languages are JavaScript"

Eh. I prefer C. Less clutter and mess.

If I want something fancier and higher level, there’s always Ruby.

If I want something lower and faster, there’s Assembly.

The only reason I’d pick up C++ again is if I had a hankering for seeing all dem <T>’s. Or, you know, picking up game dev again. It’s worth the pain.

@Root Believe me, C++ is far better than Ruby. Try C++ 17

@Demolishun Actually, JS feels like C++ almost.

@unclesam No, no it doesn't. Not at all.

@unclesam While I haven’t used C++ seriously since my game dev days, I sincerely doubt C++17 is anywhere near as blissful as Ruby, let alone more so.

But I’ll give it another go later when I have the time.

@Root Everything has gotten better. I really like C++, but it doesn't feel anything like say Python. Python feels like playing with really cool legos. C++ is more like metal, files, bolts, nuts, hammers, and metal saws. Sure you can abstract up to the legos, but you still got to solder that pipe on the side.

@Demolishun It does share syntax similarity. Note that JS originally created with a goal to speed up transition from C++ to JS

@Root I used to hate C++. Was hooked by C long time and months ago, I tried C++ and it's amazing. I wanna to slap linus.

@unclesam He has good reasons to dictate C over C++. You absolutely need the increased control C gives you when you’re writing a kernel. Anything and everything the language/compiler does for you is another possible bug.

@Root Well, He's right for pre-11 C++ but modern C++ tend to be better. I know a RTOS that written Kernel in Modern C++.

@Root It is kinda funny though that the gcc C compiler is now written in C++.
