When your IDE is annoying the hell out of you when refactoring code, reconfigure or change your IDE.
Most IDEs, wich can be configured to annoy you, can also be configured to not do that.

@Oktokolo Do many IDEs allow for "i'm gonna fuck some stuff up here for a minute, don't freak out while i'm typing" ?

It's not a big deal so I haven't ever really checked, but it would be nice I guess.

There are lots of different "assistive" features in IDEs out there. Not all of them are annoying while you refactor stuff.

Most annoying are automatic code formatters - not only when refactoring, but in general. They can be disabled in almost all IDEs wich have them. Just turn automatic reformatting off and assign a shortcut so you can reformat on demand.

Some linters are also extremely in-your-face when they find something. But they, in general do not alter the code or make your view or cursor jump around.
Almost all IDEs allow for altering the styling of detected errors. Style them so that they keep being visible but are not too attention-grabbing.
Some IDEs also allow to set the linter to only get executed on-demand. Bind it to a key near the save shortcut, so you can do "save and check" easily.
