When you believe in nothing and have nothing to lose you are actually free to do anything.

While this sounds silly, it is surprisingly true.

Freedom is taken for granted.

    I'm not sure the believe in nothing thing ... means much, that's a choice anyway.

    Hey Floyd 😊
    How is your mood?

    Something similar sounded in the movie "Fight club"

    But when you believe in nothing, what will motivate you to do anything?

    Guidance/motivation and freedom are like on an axis, you need to balance them.

    To follow guidance you necessarily have to give up freedom, and vice versa.

    Here's an example, if someone says you should become financially independent and you believe them, then you will be motivated in that direction, but you will give up a little freedom. Now that you believe that financial independence is important, it won't be realistic to go against your belief in any direction that leads to financial dependence on someone else. And your freedom to choose that path is lessened a bit.

    So far from believing in nothing, you actually believe you are free to do anything?

    That's kinda contradictory. Plus, I'm pretty sure a whole bunch of my beliefs aren't an impediment to my freedom either.

    @Dellexa my mood is neutral. What's Fight Club?

    @justamuslimguy @AlmondSauce looknat it this way, we try to think out of the box.

    Truth is, there is no box.

    believing in nothing is not freedom, that is emptiness , believing whatever you wanna believe that is freedom, ofcourse if this happens in an environment where there is only one choice, believing in sth, then you wanting to believe in nothing is a free choice

    @EpicofGilgamesh so believing in not believe anything is freedom?

    Perhaps you believe that you believe in nothing.

    In any case, you BELIEVE that freedom is not to believe in anything.

    The idea of freedom > believe > act/live according to faith.

    @Dellexa

    What's fight club? Are there any rules?
  • 1
    @Dellexa yes, Victoria.

    I believe in nothing and that gives me freedom to believe in whatever I want and I use that freedom to believe in nothing.

    @F1973
    The first rule of Fight Club is not to tell anyone about Fight Club.

    @Dellexa I still don't know what that club is and are you even talking about... 😉
