Do you think getting a QA position would hurt my future as a developer?

Right now I can say that I write software for a living even though I almost never do.

At these other jobs I applied for I would definitely be writing a lot more code but none of it for the end product.

I don't see how it would hurt, as long as you keep learning/practicing on your own time.
If a new recruiter were to ask you why you took this job for X months/years, just tell them the truth, i.e. you couldn't find an interesting position at the time and thought it would still allow you to learn a lot and improve your skills as developers.

PS: Why are you looking for that kind of job when you're a rocket surgeon?

It's a dead end here. It's pretty much the banishment room for failed devs they can't fire for whatever reason.

If you are getting into QA, go for automation.

    Manual will be dead soon.
