I give up. I can't play Metal Slug or any old school arcade games with a keyboard. I need a controller.

MKUltra, here I come.

    Why would you even try playing anything designed for a controller not using controller? 🤔

    @iiii I don't have a controller.
  • 2
    @rutee07 but there are a lot of pretty cheap decent controllers 😱
  • 1
    @iiii Yeah, I just ordered earlier. Haha. I didn't need it before since I only played Warhammer and Minecraft.

    @rutee07 fair enough. BTW, Metal Slug is arcade level hard. Not for easily frustrated

    @iiii I love this game. The games back then they just shower you with rockets and all sort of shit. It was awesome.

    The pixel art from that game belongs to museums. Probably the best pixel art I’ve seen on a video game.

    It blows my mind so many amazing animations can be produced for a game by humans.

    @jesustricks Oh yeah, they are definitely one of the best, lots of details. I see a few artists at PixelJoint try to re-create them. And the explosions! I guess that's one of the reasons why it's so satisfying to play. I also like their sketches especially the machines.

    One of the first dream things on list I want to buy is arcade machine.
  • 1
    @vane It would be cool to have a room like that. The one from Mr. Robot looks good with the popcorn machine and a gun in it.

    @rutee07 which control did you buy? I'm rocking with my xbox one controller but willing to try something new
  • 2
    @JhonDoe I got the Dualshock 4 controller.
  • 1
    @rutee07 first time with one of those? I mean, in general, even if you had any experience with a ps4, not in pc
  • 0
    @JhonDoe Yes, why? Is it bad?
  • 1
    @rutee07 yup. battery is a bitch. On the bright side the feeling of those are way better than dualshock 3, and even the setup for pc is waaay easier(you still needed to install a third party software last time I checked tough), but the battery last around 8 hours at most, but you can still play with an usb cable while charging btw

    On the other hand the xbox one controllers feel more comfortable than ps4 ones, I haven't had any xbox nor planning to have one either, I've been a sony fanboy from a long time, but once I laid my hands in this xbox controller... it was so much better. Batteries can last up to 2 to 3 weeks and no software needed to connect to pc, just pair it as a normal bluetooth device

    @JhonDoe Damn it. I saw the Xbox one! But this one has some good reviews. Well, we'll see what happens. I still have other games to play on PC (keyboards) and Nintendo Switch so hopefully, I wouldn't need more than 8 hours for one game sitting.

    @rutee07 that's good too. one of the cool things about the ds4 is that you can use the controller touchpad as your mouse(with that third party software), no real benefit for my use case, but hey it's a plus!

    @rutee07 nice controller. I've got one as well.
  • 1
    @JhonDoe xbox controller being more comfortable is a joke... those are very awkwardly shaped

    I heard the Xbox controllers are less durable ds4, but agree on the battery for ds4, I have to charge mine everyday, kind of annoying.

    @rutee07 if you like that sort of thing you'll probably really enjoy NieR Automata
    Aside from it being one of the best games ever made, narratively speaking.

    @RememberMe you forgot the music! There's the best music
  • 1
    @RememberMe BTW, heard about Project EVE?
  • 0
    @iiii nope, what is it?
  • 0
    @RememberMe some chinese AAA project which resembles Automata. It may be not as epic as Automata was, but the nice waifu and desire to go by Automata's steps are already intriguing.

    I got the controller, it was nice.
