Woot, encore performance!
Are the kids still saying "Woot?" *gets out young person -> olds dictionary" -
Congratulations!
I think a lot of folks would rather work with people who they can easily communicate with and get along with and HEAVILY lean towards such indicators even subconsciously.
That's not to say all interviews turn out that way, but people are inclined to give the benefit of the doubt to such folks.
Granted, I'm not a big believer in hyper technical interviews either, I just don't buy into the idea that those can accurately measure technical things that are hard to measure. -
@N00bPancakes What I believe is a decent measure is giving a small assignment and letting the person do it without interview pressure, and then discussing it with him.
But it requires some extra time from the interviewee and from the interviewers, so it really doesn't scale. -
@NickyBones Agreed, if only because I've found that works for me.
Technical wordsmithing is not my skills, but let me show them some code and maybe I was doing the <those strange words> they were talking about in the interview all along ;) -
I knew it. You really did break out into a musical number for 90 minutes 😂
Congratulations, and good luck! -
Jilano273044y@SortOfTested I know it's not "yeet" but besides that I use my trusty @Stuxnet whenever I need to find a word like that
@OP Go you! Champagne's on you whenever you'll get the job -
@AlmondSauce I guess it paid off, all those years I've been practicing "I just can't wait to be king" in the shower.
-
Jilano273044y@NickyBones Might be right around the next corner ;)
Good luck!
Edit: @iiii She's twelve and a half, which makes her PhD all the more impressive -
@Jilano I should have an interview with a possible advisor on Monday, but until I don't see him in our Zoom call, I won't believe it's happening. Professors are fickle.

Jilano273044y@NickyBones Want us to break his knees just in case? He won't be able to run that way
-
@-red Nope. I've seen BHV in the context of collision detection, but none of the CG projects I worked on implemented ray tracing.
-
@-red FullMetalEngine was just to get a feel of OpenGL, because at work I was developing over Cinder.
