Google Pay is most disastrous crap ever. The worst of all.

The app is heavy as fuck with load time of 45 seconds or more.

Lag on every screen and system often fails to capture interactions in one go due to this.

Bank accounts automatically get unlinked for no fucking reason. And with every update, this surely happens.

Countless times the bank accounts are not even detected during payments.

90% time payment fails and one has to re-attempt.

Bloated with recommendations. Fuck that.

Annoying blue dot pointers in each profile that won't go away.

No point in hiding profiles or businesses as they tend to come back to main screen again.

Navigation is confusing as shit.

One could never win the scratch card prize. NEVER.

And when the notifs are turned off, POS will shit buzz with notification.

I could go on with list of bugs in this gutter. Even though product has reached maturity stage, it fails to fix those basic issues and absolutely no innovation.

Honestly, I am soooo pissed at Google that I literally want to punch each team member with dog shit.

    When you're to of the food chain and have no competition, why bother fixing your issues.

    @vomitmachine no one can rule forever, if you be arrogant, predators will leap on you and kill you sooner.

    @F1973 *cough* Intel *cough*
  • 2
    Man you've summarised my all my frustrations with app in words. Apart from payment stuff their messaging inside the app is shittiest

    Nothing beats just having cash on you instead of relying on electronic payment

    @AlmondSauce "What do you mean? Their 14nm+++++++++++++++ is wonderful"
  • 4
    @AlmondSauce intel?

    @LotsOfCaffeine only reason I use digital currency is for hygiene.

    I've switched to phonepay just last month due to these exact reasons..
    i have tried sending a large payment but it failed... money got refunded a week later.. but i was soooooo pissed that whole week

    @linus-torvald Phone Pe recently made a statement that first time any Google Product was outdone in any market.

    Phone Pe beat GPay last month.

    And I was the only one who thought I was facing issues with GPay.

    @F1973 yeah man, AMD has fucked entire Intel's i series, check it out. It's best example for what you said earlier.

    Hygiene? Seriously!!
  • 1
    @Aitkotw How's intel and AMD got to do with a software?

    Have you ever used cash in a third world country?
  • 3
    @F1973 come on man, your second comment, AMD took over intel. Don't you get it?
  • 2
    Write this rant on a review in the Play store
  • 3
    @Aitkotw lol didn't get that one. Thanks.

    @cafecortado character limit.

    Reminds me of the long standing issue with the Google Podcasts App where audio playback kept randomly stopping on the Pixel.

    That's right, they couldn't play audio reliably, on their flagship device, in an App that's only about audio, and didn't fix it for months.

    Slow clap.
  • 1
    @K-Hole hahaha that's Google.
  • 3
    Check if you are a beta version. They recently created a beta version that's entirely a flutter base app and been a total shitshow. Everyone was complaining how laggy and huge size the app was.

    Even more stupid would be to shift this app to main channel, and if google has already done it, then i don't know what to say to them.
  • 3
    @yowhatthefuck this has been my issue forever.

    And you cannot say anything to them because retards don't listen to their customers.
  • 1
    I've never had any of these issues and I use it for basically everything. It hasn't sent me a single notification.

    That said, I've never heard of half of these features either. Your Google pay seems significantly different from what I've experienced.

    @SortOfTested different geographies, different needs, different users so obviously different versions.

    @F1973
    It's a bit odd, Google doesn't usually vary apps significantly by market. The scratch off thing would be illegal here.

    It's also unsurprising given that softbank, walmart and Google are currently waging a war for control of the Indian payments market.
  • 2
    @F1973 So you're telling me that Google India had to build 1 product. Just a single product. And they fucked that up? Makes sense :)
  • 0
    @SortOfTested I don't see anything being odd in varying app features.

    @ayushjn lol yeah. They did.

    @F1973
    Has nothing to do with what I said.

    @F1973
    I make a statement indicating that it's odd because it's not a common practice at google (it erodes the brand, creates a managerial nightmare, this was a consistent message when I was there).

    You reply that the action of adding new features is not odd. That is non-sequitur.

    My point was, it's odd that *they* did it, and the question people should be asking is why they would deviate from their standard risk averse strategy at potentially the cost of the international brand.

    @SortOfTested Google's home page for UK has Store link right on top left. I haven't seen that on Indian or any other version.

    Not sure if that falls in your consistency criteria or not.

    And since we are talking about Google only, it's no point mentioning about other brands.
  • 1
    What are you talking about? O_o

    I've never seen anything besides "add a card" in Google Pay and payments always worked flawlessly.
  • 1
    >trusting Google with your sensitive data
  • 2
    GPay has sucked the patience out of me for the past two months. It ALWAYS gets stuck on the screen where the Payment Options are to be displayed. What's worse is, it actually shows them for a split second and then disables the button right after. And it never loads back no matter how long you patiently wait for. It is almost as if they want to play hide and seek. Numerous bug reports and feedbacks gone in vain. I lost the trust I had on this app. I hope they aren't working on a PlayMusic like replacement app

    Phone pe is much better and I've been so satisfied with it so far

    @SortOfTested Google has this Next Billion Users (NBU) project that's specifically targeted at South East Asian nations and Tez (now known as Google Pay) is one such outcome

    Bla bla Apple sucks and all...
    But for Apple Pay, I honestly cannot relate.

    I just hold my locked phone against the eftpos thing with my finger on TouchID, it vibrates to tell me I can put it back into my pocket, done!

    Well, It JuST WeRKz! Sorta kicks in again.

    Edit: werks perfectly when I’m drunk as well. Whether that’s a good thing is a different story though.

    @iiii we have a different version of GPay here in India.

    @F1973 Have you ever used MyJio app?

    apparently relying on hawala (because fuck paypal) makes you a terrorist in the eyes of u.s. alphabet agencies.

    really need to build an app or service that lets people build their own hawala networks, verify profiles, track trust and reliability, the full monty.

    fuck credit cards. fuck google. fuck paypal.

    @Wisecrack Hawala all the fucking way...
