When my poor spatial skills and extremely random associations meet.
Colleague: How big is the sensor?
Me: Well, it's...ugh..about this...hmmm, bigger than the other one, but like...I don't know, like a small bible?

I use a gesture with my palms facing each other for just about everything - including questions about difficulty, time, and cost.

    How difficult is that?
Mhh just about that. Palms 30cm apart - pretty easy.

How long will you need for that?
Phew, about that! Palms 80cm apart - that's a major request and will need a massive schedule accomodation.

Palms 120cm apart - it's impossible either from a technical or cost POV, forget about it.

If you seriously think that I can estimate correct measurements.... Did I tell you the story of me hanging up pictures and realizing after hanging up that 2.50 m is not 1.80m ? They looked the same till the pictures were hang up and it looked very weird....

@Fast-Nop chop off your palm and throw it across the street and then run away from it:

What you asked is not possible within the constraints of the current laws of physics.

@iiii It was fun when we got a new PM. Someone asked me such a question, and I answered with the small gesture.

The PM was visibly confused because that didn't make sense to her, but everyone else was already accustomed to that and reacted as if that were a perfectly normal way to answer, which confused her even more. ^^
