The newest addition to our lab - Pikachu!
We managed to overcome the weirdest pinout configuration ever on the MCU and power up the Nvidia Jetson.
Next week I'm going to make a clean install of the Jetson because there is some funky garbage there, and then I'll try to drive the little beast :)

    So hardcore :)

All this shit you do is so damn cool. I'm usually quite proud when I build x y robots and program raspberries, but this is on another level 😅

What will the robot fellow be doing in the lab?

@ScriptCoded Another level of pain :(

After I install the robot drivers and find the correct mapping between the wheel motors and that stupid Logitech controller, I need to install a pair of 2D lidars - mechanical design and assembling of the mounts, then doing all the drivers and networking (which I know shit about).

After that I need to get started on the cameras...

@NickyBones sounds like the fun kind of pain, the one with tears of frustration and accomplishment.

Will it have eyes as cameras, a zigzag tail as an antenna, and ears as zappers?

Jetson - I'm assuming some kind of ML driven lidar based navigation is involved? :-)

@bioDan We will consider this option in the design discussions :)

@AlmondSauce The Jetson probably will not run anything but the actually robot drivers. We currently have no use for the Jetson, and the official installation guide recommends it, so we'll follow that.

My algorithm runs on Intel NUC, and has no need for GPU :)

    @NickyBones Sounds incredibly fun tbh

Some packages for ARM environment need to be compiled by yourself three years ago, what about now?

Now that's a weird dual monitor setup

@Reese The ROS drivers for the Kinect Azure still need to be compiled from source, with OpenCV4 and its own vision_opencv. The standard ROS stuff worked out of the box for me.

My ones are a bit bigger :)

@blindXfish Good for you, but the dick-measuring contest is in the other room.
