This is how garbage software gets built. Eventually it'll go on to become a legacy code mess that keeps some poor dev up late at night worrying about maintaining it.

Don't get me wrong. I love clean code and would love to have more people like you on my teams.

Still you have to understand boyscouting usually doesn't generate money for the company. Yes easier maintainable code is great and has a ROI, but the ROI (if the code is not fully garbage) is barely measurable.
First goal of a business is increase the businesses income and this should be your main goal. So maybe less boyscouting (less means you still do it but it's not your main focus) and more $$$ generating features/bugfixes whatever.

Just realized you talk about lines of code. Leave the company that is bullshit.
