I fucking love my parents.
Came to visit them again and told them that I might buy an iPhone in the future (I fucking hate apple/i-devices and they know that).
Mom: "You are going to WHAT? Are you okay, son?"
Dad: *walks towards me and puts hand on forehead* "Hmmm, doesn't seem to be that warm. Maybe we should visit a psychiatrist soon."
Me: 😂. mom, dad, I fucking love you.52 -
You know why i hate lenovo with a burning passion? Not because they make industrial waste and sell it. Not because they trick non tech people into buying their garbage. No, i hate them because their shitass laptops dont even fit in my rubbish bin.28
-
I hate this attitude of my study (when i studied):
"it might be a good idea to teach the students how to program securely by default?"
"oh no but we just want to teach them the basics"
"so why not the secure basics by default?!"
"nah we just want them to get started and understand it, that's all. We'll get to the secure way later on"
Well, fuck you.16 -
I HATE when I type :) and it comes out 😀, y'all need to KNOCK THAT SHIT OFF. If I say :/ I mean :/ not 🤔 or 😒or whatever emotion you're forcing me into.
Also ++ to devRant for getting this RIGHT! To them I say 😀😁😃😄9 -
Employer: so why do you want to join this organization?
Engineer: well like i said in the first 4 interviews, I love desks. Sitting behind them. Standing behind them.
Employer: are you a standing or sitting man?
Engineer: i like to sit in the morning and then switch up to stand at lunch.
Employer: a man with a plan. Very good. Do you remember anything from school?
Engineer: not a goddamn thing.
Employer: perfect. You don't need math. Just emails. You like emails?
Engineer: love emails.
Employer: there's gonna be a lot of emails.
Engineer: can't get enough emails.
Employer: perfect. Do you like a clear separation between life and work?
Engineer: oh not at all. I like it to muddy together in a never ending hell.
Employer: alright and you're familiar with work culture?
Engineer: oh those hours i work for free?
Employer: yes.
Engineer: I love that bullshit.
Employer: alright terrific. And are you familiar with the hate hierarchy?
Engineer: yeah the tech's hate the engineers, the engineers hate the tech's and the managers hate everyb-
Employer: everybody. Perfect. Alright I- honestly I think we'd like to make an offer.
Engineer: well, first I gotta leverage that with my current employer for a raise. And if they don't budge, I'll jump shut.
Employer: no loyalty at all?
Engineer: not at all.
Employer: you're hired.5 -
Hate it when i spend hours upon hours implementing an algorithm/program (in C++ btw) and whenever I show it to someone... They r like
Them: Huh... Spent so much time to display JUST that?!
😭😭
Well... Only programmers understand the amount of time required to get things done...9 -
I frckin HATE people who say 'Ah, you can program now? So can you make a game for me? I even have some ideas!, bla bla blurb...'
It makes me wanna hurt them. And the really, really sad thing about it is: nearly no one understands why.4 -
I hate it when people say they want to "GET a new girlfriend"...
Shouldn't it be "FIND a new girlfriend"?
I mean you can't just go into the supermarket and get some butter, milk and a new girlfriend. You can't buy them. By saying that, you seem to me as if you're treating women as objects. I know it's technically possible to buy a girlfriend, but that's prostitution.
I think that "GET a new girlfriend" just doesn't sound right...
Your opinions?38 -
I fucking hate it when I'm working and people come and ask 'What are you doing ?' .. Even if they mean well ..
I'd be happy to show them and explain the hell out about finished product though .. !1 -
Services/apps and their automatic general sayings. I fucking hate that.
'apping' is an abbreviation for either whatsapping someone or messaging them in general (in the Netherlands at least).
Sorry but I fucking hate WhatsApp and I'm not going to say that fucking app/apping word. But then in general it's confusing imo.
IF YOU'RE GOING TO TEXT ME, DON'T SAY YOU'RE GOING TO APP ME.
IF YOU'RE GOING TO SIGNAL ME, DON'T SAY YOU'RE GOING TO APP ME.
"but I meant that" - THEN FUCKING SAY IT.
I DON'T 'GOOGLE SOMETHING'. I FUCKING DUCKDUCKGO IT. NO, THAT'S NOT THE FUCKING SAME.
FUCKING HELL.18 -
Being a college student and knowing that when someone ask for "help" they actually mean "Give me your code"
The other day someone asked me for a way to solve a homework and I instead gave them the links from MSDN of the libraries and method he needed and he was like "Okay but how do I use this, how did you do it?" I facepalmed and decided to delete them from facebook, I hate leeches who wants me to do their jobs.8 -
There are a lot of people hating on Microsoft (C#, .Net ...) in devRant. And there are a lot praising StackOverflow, linux and opensource.
I wonder how it makes them feel that stackoverflow is built on .Net and C# and is not open source!
Btw, I love linux too, I just don't hate the other operating systems(companies).15 -
I FUCKING hate companies/startups/ANY WORK ENTITY that doesn't respond to job/internship applications , i don't care if it's a yes or a "your application is shitty and you are a shitty applier and there's thousands of appliers better than you" at least give me something to carry on with my internship search .
Even more hated are those who respond with a plethora of tests and don't answer back with results when you do them .7 -
I fucking hate websites that refuse to show their content unless you enable their JS clusterfuck. Yes I am blocking JavaScript because I'm sick of all those goddamn frameworks from God knows what domain. IS THAT FUCKING WRONG?!! I don't hate front-end devs, in fact I respect them for keeping up with design needs of shitty clients. But that fucking Web 2.0 with 50 frameworks per tab and no HTML or even PHP whatsoever for those who block your JS crap.. shove it right up your fucking ass!!!19
-
So yeah, I got fed up with assholes offering unpaid internships while demanding the work of a paid employee and I went around reporting all of them for violating the law.
Hope it does something. I hate these people taking advantage of vulnerable post secondary students for their crappy, worthless startups.1 -
I'm done with f/e. I so fucking hate it .
I fucking hate implementing weird highly animated websites designed by gurus
I fucking hate making them accessible.
I hate working on weird code generated by my coworkers and jump on projects with 0 specs.
I fucking hate this whole bloatware called javascript.
I fucking hate morons who think they know it all.
I'm fucking disgusted by the job market with their whole job specs ( Oh you don't have 5 year experience in some fucking stupid library I don't give a flying fuck. Too bad, we can't hire you )
And most importantly I fucking hate the day I chose f/e development instead of smth else.
Now at 29 I'm fucking stuck with this shit with no energy and patience to learn something else or at least jump on b/e or anything that is not related to web dev or js.
Sorry for so many fuckings but I had a breakdown.
Love ya.25 -
Unpopular dev opinion:
I like ending lines of code with semicolons. It helps add structure and organization. My code feels naked without them. After learning to code in JavaScript and Java, it's force of habit to put them, and python's lack of them is one of the reasons I hate it's syntax
Maybe I'm old fashioned. All the hipster languages either make semicolons optional or usually actively discourage them
Idk I like them though13 -
I really hate when I have to help a coworker and then when I need to use their keyboard. is dirty AF, really disgusting! like c'mon, how is that I need to tell them that their keyboard could use a bit of cleaning15
-
Am I the only one who hates in app browsers? I fucking hate them. If I want to look at something later, I like to click the link, then close chrome. I'll have the tab to return to it later. But these shitty in app browsers that you can't turn off makes that a pain in the ass.8
-
So we, new interns, are having breakfast together. One of the intern brought this nice milk and cornflakes. Another intern started to talk about how she's allergic to dairy products and her hands become itchy when she eats any dairy products.
Then I said: "Oh, your hands gets itchy? I shit myself whenever I have anything related to milk."
Both of them packed their food and left in the next minute.
I hate myself.10 -
I hate the fucking fakeness at my corporate workplace. Everybody's kissing everybody's ass. What' worse is that individually, they're nice people but the environment changed them and they don't even notice it.
Also they fucking congratulate themselves for their fucking great work but all they did is basically a big crud app. We're all just a bunch of code monkeys. I'm so getting out of there.13 -
if (questionAsked) {
retuen "It depends...";
}
I hate it I hate it I hate it
But it's true because there are a fuckton of factors that determine the answer to a question and nobody ever knows all of them.
I can rarely answer a question from classmates or non-techs without saying that it depends or that there are multiple options.
"Are statics ever good?" It depends
"Should I inject this dependency?" It depends
"Should I google every question first?" It depends
I fear giving a whole answer without knowing the details or at least seeing the code. I've come across multiple XY problems and I'm glad I took the time to look at some code first.12 -
I never made a friend due to code.
Either I fucking hate people if I see their code or I respect them.
But getting a friend because of code seems to me rather unrealistic.
Maybe I could get a female code groupie, if I write code little bit more lovely and sexy.
Ask me again in a year.15 -
My co-workers hate it when I ask this question on a technical interview, but my common one is "what is the difference between a varchar(max) and varchar(8000) when they are both storing 8000 characters"
Answer, you cannot index a varchar(max). A varchar(max) and varchar(8000) both store the data in the table but a max will go to blob storage if it is greater than 8000.
No one ever knows the answer but I like to ask it to see how people think. Then I tell them that no one ever gets that right and it isn't a big deal that they don't know it, as I give them the answer.8 -
Web products that disable text selection. I hate them, there are 0 reasons to do that, and still it's done.16
-
I hate Google for invading the world's privacy and try to avoid or block their services wherever possible.
Still, I'd love to work for them.
Am I nuts? That's f-ing irrational...3 -
Why are there a million websites that scrap and republish stack overflow content? SEO induced page hits for fraudulent publicity?
Whatever the reason I hate them so much.7 -
Windows servers are a joke. A bad joke.
I feel sorry for people who have to work on them and have that as their profession you never used Linux
If someone came up to me and said we should use a windows server for this I'd laugh in his face and fire him. Seriously. I would.
That's how much I hate them. Got it? Ok good ... I'm calm now 😎65 -
On hold to the jobcentre, coming up to 1.5 hours now...
FUCK YOU WITH A CACTUS WRAPPED IN BARBED WIRE YOU USELESS CUMSTAIN OF A GOVERNMENT. I HAVE NO FOOD, NO HOME, AND 20% BATTERY.
SORT YOUR SHIT BEFORE I FIND EVERY SINGLE FUCKING CALL CENTRE AND FIREBOMB THEM.
fucking hell. I fucking hate this shit.8 -
The more I visit a wide range of sites, the more I hate obnoxious cookie policy pop ups. The ones that take 2/3 are UN-FUCKING-NECESSARY.
Web devs that make them like this can you please tell me why?12 -
Regex.
I HATE YOU.
There. I've said it.
I spent the better part of the last hour trying to wrangle together, not one, but TWO regexes and getting them to work with Python's "re" module.
The worst part about these little shits? It's how well they work once you figure out how to get them to work. For example, pulling a phone number out of a paragraph is difficult with string methods, but cake with regex . . . if you can figure out the pattern.
But I think I'll always have hate in my heart for Regex just for how obtuse and frustrating they can be.
F**k you regex.19 -
I fucking hate all these JavaScript frameworks. You try to learn one and then there is another one that's rising up. While you wonder why a framework exists and what's the best use case there is a fresh off college grad who built a fucking app on it. How the fuck is it even possible? Did you study the framework? Did you understand how it works? Or did you just put together a bunch of tutorials and built the app. I feel people just want to churn apps out without bothering about understanding the framework. Ask them about design patterns... They know nothing about it. Ask them vanilla JavaScript questions.... They fumble easily. Ask them OOPs..... They look dumbfounded. WTF!!!
Or maybe I am just getting old. It's possible.9 -
I hate recruitment agencies. Had a conversation, i said no thanks. They phone back they next day and tell me i need to let them know if i want to go forward with the job then get angry with me as i tell them no again. WTF?!?!!5
-
I fucking hate people who mock me for not drinking and being vegetarian. Why everyone tries to get on my nerves when I do no wrong to them. I fucking hate my life. I want to go to lone island with my laptop.15
-
I hate cliched lines in office.
When someone I respect leaves the company I don't say "Good luck for your future. Keep in touch". I shake hands, look them in the eye and say "It's been an honor"
On a birthday I don't say "Happy Birthday". I say "May you grace the cover of Time magazine" or something else related to their aspirations.3 -
A client literally just told us "I don't wanna be telling you what I want / require / need. I just want you to give me the best you got."
Like wtf.
The worst thing is they've got but loads of money so we really have to take them serious. They were born rich and probably had a servant as a child who did everything for them without them asking to, and they'll continue to get away with it because they'll continue to be rich and there'll be people like us trying to kiss their ass for some of that money. I hate myself for doing it. They want a system to basically spy on their customers, and I'm a huge advocate of privacy, but I'll still do it for the money. Fuck this world.6 -
You know those youtube channels that just read r/askreddit threads word by word? Yeah i fucking hate them so im automating that shit.
This is how far im right now, the images and voices are generated, now just have to somehow grab some vlog music randomly and automate video creation.
https://youtube.com/watch/...9 -
I really hate fucking Wordpress!
I hate it's stupid API, with it's stupid hooks and actions and all those stupid functions and no fucking logic to any of it!
I hate it's stupid plugin system, with all that fucking overhead that brings no real value and adds all that complexity for nothing!
I hate stupid fucking multiple calls for the same fucking assets, loading them over and over again because every stupid plugin calls them again and again!
I hate motherfucking SHORTTAGS, or whatever the fuck they are called!
I hate that every stupid fucking plugin and shortcode and fucking every little fucking piece of HTML comes from a different fucking place, with different fucking structure and different fucking classes and stupid fucking loading seaquences that make no fucking sense!
And I hate fucking page builders !!!!!
Fuck!!!!
I should be fucking coding on this fucking peace of shit, but I just cannot fucking take it any more!!!
IT NEEDS TO FUCKING DIE!
It should be relegated to the darkest corners of the internet and all the servers that have it's fucking code anyware on their systems should be disconnected and buried in the deepest pits of hell, just to be sure it never, EVER, surfaces again!!!
AAARRRRGGGHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!5 -
Story time on my job hunt: Currently interviewing with Google during my notice period.
I always had a love hate relationship with Google. Unlike my hate towards Meta or Amazon, where I had a reason to hate them for how ill intended they are, I never had a valid reason to dislike or hate Google apart from the fact that they steal my data.
That's it. That's my only reason why I hate Google. But I fell in love with their products during my trip to Istanbul and how throughout my journey, Google products were there for me to solve all my needs.
As y'all know, I was treated badly during my Meta interview, last October. With Google, the experience is on another level.
People are fucking smart and ingenious, but at the same time very polite, humble, and respectful.
During my 3 interviews so far (2 more remaining), each one of them made me so comfortable that I was more anxious before the interview than during or after.
They supported me during each question they asked. They made me felt heard and focused on my strength, instead of the weaknesses (or trying to break me down unnecessarily).
The interview syllabus is so fucking vast, and recruiters know so much that they helped me not only with preparation material, but also guided me personally. Haven't seen such knowledgeable recruiters.
The questions were dynamic in nature and thankfully because of my preparation, I was able to answer them most.
Overall, the culture at Google seems brilliant and an environment where one can flourish. No wonder companies are trying to copy every aspect of how Google operates and no surprise that Google is doing well at scale.
I feel so high on emotions (positively), after these interviews that I wonder how would it be to work at Google with such phenomenal people and exceptional environment.7 -
Completely 100% not dev related.
But really I need the opinion of smarter people. Tell me how I don't make fun of the way people look, talk down on others regardless of <whatever>. Try to be as nice as possible to everyone, but the moment I say that I am not attracted to overweight people (women in my case since I am a heterosexual male) am I suddenly fatphobic and hate fat people. First of, phobia means fear, and I can assure people that fat people don't trigger any fear response from my end.
Nor do I disregard them as humans just cuz of them extra kilos. But suddenly because I explain how I can't be sexually attracted to someone that is overweight am I fatphobic?
This shit baffles me.48 -
YouTube just deleted my favorites playlist for supposed hate speech. My playlist had like 4k vids in it (none of them uploaded by me) and most of them were just stupid music videos or whatever, nothing even comes to mind that would qualify as hate speech, so because of this alleged needle in a 4k video haystack my playlist got deleted, YouTube did not even show any evidence of the supposed hate speech content within, my appeal was denied instantly. This is why I hate big tech- it is tyrannical and bullshit. It serves as an extra government nanny rather than appealing to its user base. This is because once a social platform grows so large that it has the monopoly on users, it no longer has to appeal to its users, it can then just focus on politics or other agendas. They can do this with confidence that they will not lose their users because they know that the modern internet narcissist will flock to any app that gives them the biggest audience, and since they have the monopoly on users they can rest assured the common narcissist will flock to their app (no matter how shitty or tyrannical) because they’ll get the most exposure there. This is the pattern every big social media platform falls into. At one point YouTube was cool….14
-
Just wrote a examn about IPs an totally fucked it up. I hate subnet masks. SERIOUSLY, FUCK THEM
AAAHHHH fuuuuuu
💔5 -
I hate it whenever I'm joining a new company/client. It takes them days to provide me access card so I need to f*ckin knock on the door everytime I come back from pooping.3
-
I work mainly with Java AND JavaScript (separately).
I hate it when people think I mistake them in a conversation.
Makes me think they are treating me like a fool or a noob.
I really hate it.13 -
I hate vodafone with all my heart..
Somehow our internet connection is being "disrupted" every night at 2:30 for one hour. Also occasionally during the day. They seem to be having "technical difficulties" with their cable connection, WHICH IS LITERALLY THE ONLY JOB THAT WE PAY THEM FOR...11 -
I can't tell you how much I hate people who make articles doing relatively simple things, in node, and instead of showing how to do it, they proceed tell you to install a fucking package (usually made by them)
Yeah no thanks, it's great that you figured this out and took the time to "enlighten" other devs but I'll just look at your repo and use the native JavaScript functions you wrapped on myEgoInflatingPagacke.justAWrapperHuehue(). Bye.1 -
I never thought I'd say this but I fucking hate my cousins and relatives.
Money and fame hungry people, constantly judging and excluding if you are not 'cool' enough. Give them attention, obey their orders, spend your money on them if you want to be considered human by them.
They spend 24x7 of their on Instagram with all their activities and gatherings revolving around the core idea of taking pictures and showcasing on Instagram.
All of them have inherited a fuck ton of fortune from their parents and live to spend. Nothing else in their life.
Their ideology is everyone should spend all their money and even if you have $5 in your savings, you are miser.
Cousins and relatives have bullied so much in my childhood that I had to go for therapy before I stabilised a little. They still fuck around and use me.
Now that I am living a better life than what I used to, they have started mocking my parents for it by shaming and excluding them from the family.
Not only I never wished ill but I prayed for their good health and success all my life. But all they did was neglect and ignore me.
Fucking blood sucking bastards. I still don't wish bad but I never thought I'd see this day where I'd hate them so much.
As I have worked really hard for my current life, because unlike them I had no fortune to be inherited, they pick some weak aspect of my life and poke it continuously to the point that it hurts me.
I never felt so alone. If not for my parents, I'd cut off all the times with such scums and move out for a better life with new people in life.8 -
I hate npm now I hate yarn too.
Leave them for a day, this depreciated that depreciated..
Now my patience depreciated!7 -
How can some developers send emails like "I did <x> and <y> right, but I still have an error!" with NO copy/paste of the error? Come on, you hate user emails that just say "Your site doesn't work." You should know better.
I'm going to just start answering with "Wow, that sucks, and you did everything right, huh? It must just hate you." I shouldn't have to go force you to tell me what the problem actually is at that basic level.
I used to think this was a user thing. We wouldn't do that... hah, lost user, oh well, that's why we're helping them. Apparently it's not.6 -
Fuck safari literally nothing does what it's supposed to do, I have a `document.getElementById('x').innerText = "hello there"` but it sets a totally different element to that text, this is apparently because of display: none although JS should NOT look at css wtf.
There's a whole bunch of these issues but I won't rant about them until I've solved them so I can fully explore the depth of stupidity in safari. If you work for apple and developed WebCore or WebKit, I'm sorry but I hate you and you would be better off shipping with lynx.3 -
I hate it when non-devs (HR, Customer Services,..) treat developers as if they're some type of 'weird non-humans'.
Whatever gives them that pretentious right to just label people like that? There are developers with emotions and humanity too!13 -
I hate it when people put time into making their docs look nice but none into making them actually helpful!3
-
I just read a rant about Java by a guy who moved from JS/python.
FFS, until now you were using some aberration of OOP by creating "objects" and making them however you want instead of sticking to concept of blueprinting and managing your classes in a way shit happens properly.
Yes, I do hate js/python-like langs if I would have to do something big in them, because I need to constraint my program so it works predictably every time. I don't feel like I'm doing that by putting some arbitrary key-value pairs into some random object :v
Java and her sexier sister Kotlin ftw and nothing gonna change my mind <315 -
Ordered $12 worth of electronic bits and bobs. They came a day ago and tonight I hooked them up to my raspberry pi. Made some lights blink, pressed some buttons. A solid re-introduction to electronics. This time on my own time and not in school, so I don't automatically hate it. I only got a cheap kit so I don't have many toys to play with but I'm excited to get more. Maybe even buy an Arduino. Maybe even make them talk to each other idk. I'm happy.8
-
Dynamically typed languages suck. God I hate them
It's like one big clunky free for all. I don't understand how people can work in Python or even JavaScript and tell me that they're good languages with a straight face
Not having proper autocomplete or documentation (a somewhat seperate issue of Python) is a kick in the stomach for productivity.
I've seen people advocate for using EXTERNAL DOCUMENTATION VIEWERS. WHAT
I hate not being able to enforce types so I can reason about little parts of my program. I hate not having an IDE that can actually help me. I hate having to see stupid grep'ed code snippets instead of nicely formatted javadocs. I hate having to double and triple check everything when trying to code. I hate handling effectively opaque values where I don't know anything about the type without looking it up. And I especially hate not knowing what types function parameters need to be.
Dynamic typing doesn't remove types. That, although completely unfeasible, I could respect.
Oh no, the types are still there. Just not for you
It's like solving a jigsaw puzzle with a blindfold on56 -
Fuck group projects/labs. I hate them. I typically find myself explaining basic shit that was covered in previous lectures, or just doing all the work myself because they could care less.4
-
I absolutely hate it when people doesn't care about the ratio of a picture. It's worse when you try to explain them why ratio is important and they look at you like you're an alien.1
-
This was a straight-to-devrant moment...
Referred a work colleague to a man page for a command they were having trouble with.
Their reply: "I really hate man pages. They are not useful to me. They are full of blah blah blah blah blah. I just want 'run this' or 'run that'."
Then my eyes exploded right out my head, making room for my brain exploding right behind them.2 -
If you think learning a language / working with a language you don't like is offensive to you and your morals .. Then don't do it.
Money is important to you ? Then you're just prostituting yourself to some higher authority. So DONT COMPLAIN!
You have the right to hate stuff while being paid for it. Understandable.
But don't shit on the shit you think is shit just cause you put yourself in the situation of not having an option !!
You're a worthless. Money hungry whore.
Yes, you hate Java/ x language but have to work on it ?
You're either a whore or have serious problems with standing up for yourself, but on the internet you become this amazing troll saying the language has problems.
Half the people who hate languages hate them cause it's common to hate them. Like being racist in the early American ages cause it was "normal".
Brain deficient motherfucking whores. Manipulated cocksuckers.
Sidenote : if you've honestly gotten shit on by a new version of the language you were using .It's understandable and I'm on your side. Using it without thorough research on the other hand is your mistake. Languages aren't ideal. Just Like most women don't like your dick cause, well it doesn't fit their use case. Deal with it not, troll about it.
I'm not like you. I experiment with whatever I like before using it. I work on my own stuff. I suck my own fucking dick and I get paid.
If you honestly disagree with me, put a couple points down on the language you hate and why you hate it ( considering the fact that you have actually used it and are not just trying to disagree with me )21 -
I fucking hate people that talk bad about things they know nothing about.
The best thing that I have learned is to always keep my mind open.
From "Linux sucks because there is no software" to "MacBooks are just for rich morons" to "All Microsoft tech is shit" to "CS degrees are just a bunch of useless math" to "Bing sucks".
Fuck, what do you know?? You never spent 5 minutes to try them or get informed about them. You have your shitty ideas and will keep having them because you don't care about the truth... You only care about your comfort zone.
Yes, Bing sucks. I tried it. Google shows me better results.
iPhone might suck. I don't know. Never had the opportunity to try one for long enough.
Whenever you're throwing shit at something, stop and ask yourself: do I know the whole story?11 -
"Don't waste your time reinventing the wheel, just use *random CMS or framework*"
I understand that I will never have all the time to do every projets from scratch, because of deadlines, clients, employers... But I was still a student when I've been told that.
And I never felt that I was wasting my time because I wanted to better understand what I was doing.
And I hate CMS. All of them.1 -
I hate sales people. I get physical urges of puking when i see or talk to them. Because no matter what you say all i hear is "give me your money"3
-
I'll rant on this one. I have two colleagues in a relationship in my office, the *worst* distraction ever is having them sit across of me constantly chuckling, bickering and poking each other while doing *no work at all*. I fucking hate this shit, drives me nuts -_-2
-
I freaking hate school curriculums, I have only 5 classes this semester, only two of them are career related and one is about QA, I want to focus on my code, projects, things that really matter but instead I have to do Socials homework, learn how to do research papers, learn about marketing. I really hate this. Besides the classes I have on development are extremely light. And I have to pay for this crap12
-
[dec. 21]
lead: thanks for completing all the docs, i'll review them so you can do the revisions next week
[dec. 22]
me: sir, any feedback on the first few? so i can work on them while you review the others
lead: i'll send them EOD
[dec. 26]
was notified by our manager that our lead is on leave til 27. didn't get any email or anything for review points
[dec. 28]
lead: so how's the revisions doing?
me: done. if you can review them again...
almost end of day, haven't heard anything from him yet. -
Warning: I code just for fun.
Today I finished a website and I asked to my friends to tell me what they think about it saying that it wasn't yet properly responsive and that could be some error, so I asked if they could use the computer to view it and all of them sent to me screenshots of the website on mobile.
I hate them.
P.S. Sorry for my english...8 -
Fuck the new ECMAScript 2018 specifications.
https://youtu.be/s-G_RZ4RJLU
I mean seriously? How the hell is dot syntax gonna make it more readable?
Also, i love the brackets, braces and semicolon. Hate to see them deprecated.
Almost gave me a heart attack and my head was boiling watching it.
😓😌6 -
fucking hate how some sites deliberately break their own scroll functionality if you haven't logged in/accepted gdpr nonsense/signed up for a newsletter.
It's such an easy fix (most of them just slap style="overflow:hidden;" to their <html> tag) but I still think it's very loathsome1 -
I hate phonecalls so i rarely do them. Today my project lead called me with a question and he just couldnt hear me. This was my fourth phonecall in 2 years time with this phone. And everytime they couldnt hear me. After switching to speaker they do.
Today I found out that my pinky is blocking the mic since its on the left side of the charger port. I guess Ive got a phone for lefthanded people. I hope I remember this in six months.1 -
Have to work from home for at least a few weeks..
i hate working from home..
my team Is all the social life i have. Already miss them after 1 day.5 -
Personal pet peeve.
I'm not a germophobe. But if your hands spend most of their time down your pants, or you've been eating food with them, or they're just generally disgusting, please wash before thinking of using my computer.
There is nothing I hate more than finding crusty fingerprints on my keyboard and mouse.
And if you're using my computer I likely know where you live. 🔪🔪2 -
First thing, I love my colleague. I know him for 15 years and I'm under 30. But I freaking hate when he picks his nose FOR ALL THE DAY LONG and uses shared mouses and keyboards, leaving them unable to use. I have to clean all that mess and no matter what we say he still do it. :(5
-
Printers have always bothered me because I haven’t known how to troubleshoot them.
Today I changed that. I reconfigured my printer and fixed the printer connections on my home computers.
Still hate printers though.1 -
I don't mind ads in general, I just hate that they provide tracking capabilities. That's why I block all of them. (No, still haven't found a privacy friendly advertisement provider/platform)4
-
I fucking hate malls.
People don't walk in any regular pattern or at the same speed. Full of smelly kids and their dumbstruck parents. I REALLY do not understand how some choose to spend their time at the mall as a recreational activity (other than going with a specific destination in mine, like the cinema). Whenever the circumstances force me to wonder around one for more than ten minutes, for me it's the equivalent of several hours of work, energywise.
Generally I hate people, but malls are the places where I hate them the most. Fuck!4 -
Employer uses IBM Software, which forces me to use Eclipse. I hate eclipse. Hate is a hard word. I'd never say, I really 'hate' a person. But eclipse, eclipse is what I hate. I can look at my smartwatch and see my heartrate rising, just thinking of how the fuck any developer on this crappy planet would ship that bullshit IDE. That saying, I'm totally fine with some bugs, using windows and so on, but eclipse... Is this a get-more-contributors strategy? Holy moly it really kills me. Hey, let's just open that maven Proj.. Oh, crash. Hey, let's install that "bug-free" version of the maven-integratio... Oh, crash. Let's do a global search over my worksp.. Oh, freezed. Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! How can this be legal? I mean, seriously, most junoir devs I know, just use Eclipse, because they don't know of any other "better" IDE (VIM would be better, even notepad). Is there anyone sucking professors cocks / vaginas to get them introduce that crap IDE to students?2
-
I'm really sick of the "six-figure" advertisement that the industry uses to encourage more people to go into programming. The amount of people who hate coding with a passion but are in it because they want money is staggering. A lot of them end up dropping out. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who dearly loves this field. Truthfully, this approach won't resolve our retention problems.2
-
rant!
As a web dev i really hate half assed solutions
Especially when I'm forced to spend time making them because some stupid sales person sold certain features that our current product doesn't support.
At the end of the day that sales guy gets a commission and I build something that will inevitably break somewhere in the future.1 -
STUPID STYLESHEETS!
I've got styles in index.php and styles in style.css. When I move the styles in index.php over to style.css THE WHOLE SITE BREAKS!?!?!?
ALL I DID WAS MOVE THEM! NO OTHER CHANGES!!!
I REALLY HATE CSS.9 -
Anyway I just want to fucking write code. I don't want to deal with people or give an opinion that is not appreciated. My manager says I am too aggressive but the truth is I hate stupidity and incompetence. I tell them their ideas are shit and not in a polite way and they make HR call me. Now I don't say shit and they are asking what I think. I think all of you are cunts that's what I think.but I don't say that. I say no comment when I know they are about to fall into a massive ditch. Will I stop them? Fuck no. Will I help them out if the ditch? Maybe, if it only involves writing code. I can't do diplomacy. I'll definitely be a fucking tyrant if I ever ruled a nation.rant ugggh fuck this and let me write killer code. i can't seem to please anyone management sucks ass14
-
I hate being sick. I have the brain power to come up with project ideas and the motivation to carry them through, but I don't have the brain power to actually do them.1
-
I hate people that always pretend to be super busy and occupied... But then the only argument they bring to the table for not working is
Yeah I have somany unread emails 👀📥
Then when I tell them I sort that shit out before the weekend, they complain they need to make time for that in their busy schedule of not reading emails, listening to spottify and chatting with colleagues 🤭
Yeah super busy boi6 -
I must learn jQuery and NodeJS. It's amazing the potential of JS. My lastest 10 programs were written in pure JS and I made them in a few hours. As an electronic engineer I hate the high level languages but JS (and maybe Python) it's definitely excluded from the list.17
-
It's great when you see your position being recruited for and after 2 months of scouting management still can't find someone better.
Hate me all you want I'm still the best you've got and apparently the best you're getting.
What are they going to do when I tell them I'm done after this project 😂🖕💯3 -
Short rant: I hate xcode, I hate Swift, I hate Apple.
After 3 weeks of intensive work (I'm an apprentice, part-student, part-worker), I was happy to go back to school and was like "Oh we're going to learn iOS, sounds cool !".
It is now friday, I have homicidal tendencies growing inside me, I want to cry whenever I hear xcode or swift.
Why in the hell I can't use a string argument when I'm calling a function NEEDING a string arg ?
Why do xcode take so long to tell me that there is a problem, why is the error message not explicit AT ALL ?
Why dictionaries so hard to manipulate, EVEN IN JAVA IT'S SIMPLIER.
Why putting our API call in specialized files make them run AFTER EVERYTHING ELSE and the solution that is given to us is deprecated since 5 years ?
Why is a classic c-style for loop is now deprecated ?
These are just a drop in the ocean of WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT that we came across this week.
Fuck Swift, fuck xcode.7 -
Hate it when I see the same Programming Meme/Joke on 10 Different accounts 50 times. *fuckResposts(), even though I do them a lot...
-
I've lost all my fucks, I gave them all away!
I'm so over everything today! I have an interview on Monday and I'm always super anxious not matter what it is. I hate caring so much about crap nobody gives any actual fucks about!
I'm tired of caring about crap, being a single parent looking for a job for so long now and dealing with all my responsibilities is BS
I'm sick and tired of everything today!!!!!!!!!!!!6 -
dev goals? get shit done!
I have this common illness among devs:
I start projects and never really finish them.
Hate that. Feels so empty.
So this year I finally want to get shit done.4 -
I hate people who put underscore at the beginning of private variables names in Typescript. And I don't care if they have their reasons, I just hate them.7
-
When your boss want's you to rewrite your licensing software because they need it to have a trial version... When I asked them in the beginning they told me 'No, we don't need that'....
Fuck me this is going to take me at least some minutes... I hate people3 -
I must admit I like Microsoft a lot, but today, I hate them. Yesterday the Windows 10 anniversary update was pushed and I was forced to install it. As I had a day of meetings I did.
This morning I started my laptop and and browsed to one of the web apps I'm developing for my client. The website didn't work. Turns out Microsoft uninstalled all specific Windows features, such as IIS, MSMQ, and much much more. Guess I'll be spending my time this morning or day to reconfigure my system. Happy anniversary Microsoft.6 -
Some of my colleagues have a joint birthday party, I'm here with them drinking beer. A friend here knows that actually today is my birthday. No one else knows and I hate boasting about myself and bringing attention to myself. I'm fucking sad today... Should have gone home to my family. If you have a beer at hand, have one on me!9
-
[meta-rant]
I don't get all of the OS hate here. Like, computers, and the variety of environments in which users use them, are our job. In my mind, Linux is popular, Windows is popular, macOS is popular—if I want to make it as a developer, shouldn't I understand how all three work and how to make them work for me?
When I read stuff here, I feel like there are people here who would think less of me because of what OS I prefer. That sentiment is kind of bothersome.15 -
I hate the entire ecosystem of dot net
I just got assigned to a project that uses dot net tech stack.
I had plenty experience on spring and gin, I had a lot of fun learning and using them,
now I'm learning what dot net has to offer, and well
everything is just crapy as hell, It's the shittest learning experience in my professional carrier. I dun wanna get into the specifics, I'm sure you guys had enough.
FUCK YOU MICROSOFT.
and what the hell devrant11 -
I hate that "integer overflows" have become somewhat pop culture because anytime I see someone try to use it in a joke, they use it wrong.
I've even seen people confuse them with stack overflows and be like "my intelligence is so low it stack underflowed and became the max of an integer value!"
Or "It overflowed and became zero again" ah, I guess it happened to be unsigned and overflowed by precisely 1 then eh?
So cringe15 -
I hate this trend. Take up the whole screen for one big nothing. Yep, 1920x1080 is apparently not enough to show me more than motto, one link and freaking big image nobody care about.
Fuck, i must code it. Oh damn, there is 8 same sections on the whole page. Don't worry, not a single one of them worth reading! FUCK YOU designers!14 -
Can anyone tell me why is it good to use some crap language that transpiles to javascript? Yes i hate js too but 90% of my time using reason/ts/elm is just
>ddg how to do x in y
>no answer
>Js.unsafe.eval "js code"
Like???? None of them is a 100% complete wrapper???6 -
Being a c# junkie moving to c++, I hated the archaic practice of declaring things in one file, then implementing them in another.
I have been using c++ as my main language for about two months straight now, and I went back to a c# project and I HATE not having them in separate files.
Funny, eh?9 -
I hate it when (Java) programmers produce such clutter just because their OOP 101 professor told them to do so in 2005.
I refactored it using `git rm`.12 -
I kinda hate to admit it but they were right. Data structures and algorithms are kinda the shit and you should try to learn and appreciate them. Not just so you’ll use them. But in that learning them helps you become a better problem solver.
There’s a self taught dev that my company works with for really bespoke applications. A senior dev that works with him and helps manage the development process told me that the dev in question doesn’t really know how to implement the finer details. Very telling indeed.3 -
When I was a junior engineer I used to hate writing unit tests but now I look forward to writing them.
Well written Unit tests will save your life6 -
I fucking hate this low level programming shit. The fucking buffer overflow attacks and the whole understanding of the system architecture just goes over my mind. Can anyone who has found relatively useful resources be kind enough to refer them to me so my stupid mind can understand that better?15
-
Today.
I hate everyone.
I can't wait to stop working here, and I curse my inability to say 'no' out of pity.
I should have left them in the pit of smoking shit they dug for themselves, but NO i let them drag me in as always, even though I had all the rights to tell them to fuck off. But no, fucking 'good-hearted' me. I'm a hypocrite.
And so I managed to do something in the beginning, something in the middle, something a hour ago, then sent some messages around just to let everyone know I'm here, and the remaining 90% of the time I just let myself sink in my hatred for all of this.
Definitely not a productive day.5 -
Am I the only one who enjoys learning low languages like C/C++ and absolutely hate Java (seriously FUCK Java so much I hate using it)
Working with pointers and just having the compiler completely explode in your face because you forgot a semicolon or an index out of bounds maybe a bracket just disappeared and you are frustrated but then you fix it and voila it works like magic.
Maybe it's just a thing of mine because C++ was the first programming language I learned and I miss this feeling of hopelessness (I think I might have done BDSM fetishes) and it makes me feel nostalgic.
When I was first learning them all I thought about was how cool this stuff is.19 -
When you look at your desk and see books that count 2000 pages or so together and you just don’t find time to read them. I hate this, I want to read them but there’s just no time...
School, procrastination, YouTube, Rick and Morty, this list is forever...2 -
!dev
I fucking hate how when an (musical) artist dies, all of a sudden everyone is a fucking fan of them.
First it was Lil peep, then it was fucking Xtension cord dude, then Mac Miller and now Nippsey.
Like ik damn well all the people I am friends with saying "rip Nippsey" have heard like 2 songs from him and listened to them twice.
But now that he's dead you're acting like you bumped his shit all day & everyday? Fuck off man.18 -
You ever have to work with people that are worse than you? and yet everyone in the group sees them as more competent? So much so that they get to be involved more with the projects than you are?
I hate this feeling, I'm just as good. -
Why the hell people like Quora?
I hate that it forces me to sign in. I won't, because it makes no sense. Fuck it, my time is precious, don't play with it.
StackExchange is doing great by leaving information free for everyone and even allowing them to interact without an account.6 -
I hate HTML forms. Fucking hate them.
They're semantic so folk use them to group related inputs.
But they're also functional if you're not just typing something in and pushing enter to send it to a server, you have to override every. fucking. event.
Semantic _or_ functional is fine, but for the love of all that is holy, not both. I hate this.14 -
I hate arbitrary deadlines.
Cocksuckers just pull them out of thin air and force me to give estimates about tasks that are impossible to give an estimate on.
(Spoiler: The tasks are the problem and need to be split and analyzed)2 -
I know its Microsoft and there is a lot of hate and distrust against them.
But for those willing to provide an opinion that goes beyond "0mG fCk MekRo$0ft!!" I will ask you this:
Have you heard about the vcpkg? Package manager for C++. If so what are your thoughts on it??7 -
Ladies and gents, it was a 🍺 day, today.
I spent more hours than I care to say today tracking down an issue in our web workflow, even looping in our only web dev to help me debug it from his side. There ended up being multiple bugs found, but the most annoying of them was that the json data being pulled back was truncated because a certain someone, in their migration script, set their varchar variable to a size of 1000 and then proceeded to store a json string that was 2800+ characters in length.
C'mon man!
I got nothing productive done today. Hate, hate, hate days like this!
Beer me.3 -
I really hate that I have all of these abandoned prototypes and games because almost all of them contain features that other AAA developers are claiming as next gen...
Cunt I had them working years ago!
(Let's just not talk about my fully scalable self learning AI IV was going to implement to my games)2 -
A toss up between Apple and Microsoft...
Apple I use to love because I used an iPhone exclusively and loved iOS but the more and more I moved into the cloud. The more and more I started hating the lack of online tools like word processing and the like so eventually led me to disliking them but now I hate them exclusively because of there hardware fragmentation, the lack of consistency between there hardware really irritates me...
And Microsoft came from in an instant, I use to love windows and use it exclusively but as soon as I discovered Linux and got my first taste of it through Ubuntu I started hating windows compared to Linux but now I hate the company because of their two faced ways, will state they support the open source community yet only throw actual support when they clearly can't be beaten and give in...
(Can feel the hate coming my way so all good!)3 -
I hate when different IDE's and actually softwares have different hotkeys. I need to set up every single one of them so they can mach everywhere. There should be some kind of rule for hotkeys. 😡2
-
I dislike ignorant pricks that insult others while being wrong.
I dislile people that feel the need to insult others based on their choices or prefferences for products, music and stuff like that.
I dislike people that are so blatantly arrogant that they refuse to acknowledge being wrong because of some weird made up status in their head (i.e i have a phd...i cannot possibly be wrong)
I really dislike teenagers that think that they know shit. They never do, suprisingly we have many of them here...
I dislike people that find ways to justify being assholes to others.
I also dislike people that hide behind a keyboard.
I dislike people that tend to follow trend opinions: "lolz mac suckz i kan du errthing in LenIXxX" shit like that irrititates me, also the php hate wars, I see people bitching about not having a job or experience in the field because they wont hire them for whatever hipster shit they are not using.......yet they make fun of people with php skills that have been on the industry far longer than what the haters have known how to use a computer....ah and some of them here are also on their teens....
All in all. I hate assholes really. I see many of them in this industry, and even tho I have seen a couple of them in here the great majority of the user base is absolutely amazing.
:) y'all beautiful people have a great weekend!8 -
Working on a project with tests is so nice.
I love tests. Well, I hate making them, but now refactoring is so easy :] -
I hate Apple since they dropped OpenGL and Nvidia support. My question to them:
WHAT THE FUCK IS THE PURPOSE OF DROPPING IT? YOU ARE JUST GETTING MORE HATE10 -
So let's talk about CNAs, Captive Network Assistants, these downsized browser that open on Smartphones when you try to login to a free wifi which requires you to buy sometging or accept some terms.
I fucking hate them. I'm a web dev which has to deal with these dumbfucks.
Back in the time, there was this dumbfuck who had the idea to capture http requests on network level and response with a redirect to his own landing page. Fuck this guy. Then some dudes had the idea of the CNA as a privacy security feature. A good idea. But also this guys: "hey, let's make them a huge pain to develop for".Fuck them, too. But then came the companies saying: "hey make us a huge SPA with all features we can think of for this fucktard of a browser."
I hate fucking CNAs2 -
Does anyone actually use ZorinOS as a daily driver?
I've read reviews and they call it a "gorgeous" distro... It looks like a colour pallette swap of android 4.0 and I hate to say this to them but adding wine to your distro does not make it "windows compatible"...
I like the idea of ZorinOS but the execution is just horrible imho7 -
I hate people aren't as smart (?) as me so their suggestions don't make sense and I can't ask any questions
and then sometimes if I try to ask them anyway they think I'm just criticizing them and get defensive
I just wanna know how things work.
STOP FLAILING5 -
why the hate on java? ok, i'm only studying applied computer sciences for a year now, we mainly saw java /javascript and i like them. personally i worked with python, c, c#, php, swift too but i still don't see the problem with java4
-
Did I ever tell anyone how much I hate phone interviews? I have had them where people were on speaker phone and I could hardly understand them, foreign accents I could not understand or people reading questions off of the internet. I usually have to do these while walking around the parking lot on my job. My hands and ears freezing in the cold or 100+ degrees in the summer. I just hate it. Now I feel better. Oh yeah I have a country accent so I am doomed from the start anyway. ByVal or ByRef ? Difference between abstract and interface? Here we go again.
-
Coding tests. I hate them. On any timed test, I completely lock up and forget everything I know. I'm amazed I've gone 26 years in my career without being fired for not taking tests well. Because, as we all know, that's the core task of every single job. Taking timed tests and shit.8
-
I was just begged to play 30 minutes of monopoly with my family
With all those versions of monopoly I'll have to be more precice, it's the worst of them all
It's monopoly fucking zapped, you need an ios device to play it, it's been developed for the iPhone 4 and maybe a tablet because they didn't even update it for current phones, not even iPhone 5
The credit cards are a fucking joke, they work by touching certain parts of the touchscreen and don't work 85% of the time you try to use them, 5% of the time just choosing the wrong person
At least your relieved when 10% chance kicks in where it works for once
Instead they could developed for Android and used nfc tags making it reliable and fun, no it has to be shitty, cheap and frustrating
Like seriously, they could've also used qr codes instead, or just have fucking buttons on the screen because you need the fucking ios app anyway
The minigames are at least a bit of thought, but don't really make sense either
Money doesn't seem to matter, sometimes paying another player when it shouldve been pay to the bank (yeah, not only the credit cards are fucked, the whole money system is shit)
It's a fucking abomination of a game
Halfway through I searched for the company name on the board...
...
....
ITS FUCKING HASBRO, OF COURSE IT'S FUCKING HASBRO THAT FUCKING PEACE OF SHIT FUCKING COMPANY THAT DESERVES TO ROT IN HELL HAVING CREDIT CARDS STUFFED UP THEIR FUCKING ASSESundefined never again fuck them all to death bullshit hatred fucked up devil profanity i fucking hate hasbro hasbro7 -
I hate, I really really hate other students leaving their homeworks and assignments on the school's computers, they clutter everything and bloat the desktop with garbage, at least have some decency and put it inside a folder!
Today I got welcomed by another of those desktops and I decided to give them some help with their assignments, i.e I changed their python scripts for improvised Ackerman functions.7 -
Team Leader(TL): So you finished the sql scripts and stored procedures?
Me: Yep!
TL: And properly formatting the front end to look exactly how we want it.
Me: Yep
TL: Well we waiting on feedback from the boss so i guess you'll have to do the documentation.
Me: I hate documentation, please give me anything else
TL: It's not a lot dude, you can do it.
Me: Didn't one of the intern's and the database admin do it already?
TL: Yes. but you can take both of them and make one complete one.
Me: *You just don't want me to work on my own things you FUCKER* Fine, but don't expect it to be done this week.
TL: It's Tuesday, why not.
Me: Because i hate dcumentation
I FUCKEN. hate! documentation.4 -
I went on a coding tear last week, probably because my boss was on vacation. I optimized the bejesus out of a half dozen apps and created five or six new features to downstream apps. But now I need to write them all down, and make retroactive stories for them. I hate admin.5
-
I get it. Hooks prevent code repetition. But personally I hate them. I don’t know why. I just don’t like writing them. Maybe it’s because I like writing “this”. Weird, right?3
-
>ooo new thing to play with and learn, yay!
>*Installs using directions*
>Hello world program fails
>Oh I need these dependencies
>Wait the deps all need their own deps...
>But one of them is deprecated.. what do?
I love the feeling of working on something new but
I hate ending up spending more time getting a workflow setup and chasing down random bugs or hacky fixes just to get something stable so I can start working!!!1 -
Absolute hate for clients who just go about “I want it today” and not realise or understand that it’s them who need to sort out their issues before we can do our part.
The worst part is that my project manager remembers nothing so I have to jump into these discussions and raise issues. -
GOD I FUCKING HATE UNITY AND FUCKING C# SO MUCH
EVERY TIME I TRY TO MAKE IT DO WHAT I FUCKING WANT IT TO IT'S LIKE "mmmmmm nah lmao" LIKE FUCK WHY CAN'T YOU JUST FOLLOW FUCKING 3 LINES OF CODE NO MATTER HOW I PUT THEM OR ORDER THEM YOU BRAINDEAD FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT PROGRAM4 -
I HATE PHONE APPS THAT STILL NEED TO USE MY RAM EVEN THOUGH I NEVER USE THEM OR ACTUALLY NEED THEM!!!4
-
Watching the small interpreter that I am building compile and run as I want it to is my big highlight, I am working on a project that a lot of people will hate really (I am trying to bring back VBScript for the web, but adding a ton of shit to it to make it a proper PHP alternative, this is a side project really)
But before that? Understanding the neckbeard rants in hacker news, legit, I used to browse there trying to find perspective of what experts would think, would not understand shit, eventually, skills came (and so did the degree) and I was able to fully understand them and even interact with them.
that also squandered all notions of impostor syndrome.2 -
I hate long email exchanges with a client. I can never get a feel for when it's ok to break with the formalities of greeting them or saying thanks.4
-
I'm so sick of fuckin constraints aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa fuck. Fuck I hate them with a passion. They are so shit they are the fucking worst 🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻2

I hate it when apps I enjoy get no love or updates after being acquired by a bigger company. Why did you buy them in the first place? Skitch still cannot support Unicode cause Evernote doesn't care :-(3
-
At 12:38 AM, I am working in the office alone on a project that I hate with my guts.
Since last month I am feeling nothing. In the morning I don't want to get up and go to the office. I do not feel any excitement in my job. Even I hate talking to people, I still have to join 4 meetings and talk to them.
As the Project Manager, I hate taking responsibility for other people's code.
Writing emails to stupid business people and talking to them at the meeting, I hate those people.
I have worked for almost 16 hours per day for 2 months to finish this project. Even worked on Sunday. The project is not finished. The scope and requirement get changed daily. The client has no fucking idea of what they want.
I have no fucking idea what I want to in my life. I just want to go home and get a good fucking sleep.
Whoever is reading this, I hope you have better time in your life than me.
And please tell them this will get better. I need to hear it.5 -
I don’t hate the Pixel. I don’t have the iPhone. Why? Because both the software and hardware together are made by the same company.
They’re worth as much as these companies want to price them. Then you get Samsung charging nearly as much.5 -
Am I the only one that can't stand non-maximized windows on Windows but hate maximized windows on Mac?
Could this be a psychological phenomenon in which the designs of these systems make you use them in a specific way? Or am I just retarded?
Anyone else does the same?9 -
I just found the current main project of the people who originally wrote the codebase I’m mainly working with. After all these years they still write incoherent spaghetti mess. I need to make a throwaway GH account just to tell them people like them are the reason people hate PHP…1
-
I'm really pissed. The kitchen builder doesn't trust my measurements, which is fine. Appointment with their specialist was an hour ago. Architect is on vacation and it was discussed last week that we can enter the construction side and the kitchen. No builder wanted to open the door for us! Even after talking to them. I had to phone the architect, this took so long. The measure specialist didn't want to wait, which I understand. I hate people, they always make things complicated. I really hate people! Sorry that this is none dev related

!rant
People just annoy me. I don't feel comfortable around them.. they don't understand most of the things I say and I hate listening to them because they usually just don't get to the fucking point.
I really think that most people are just not able to think efficiently or logically.
When talking to smart people, I really enjoy it and am able to have discussions with them that last for hours..
Is this normal or am I just "special"?4 -
tldr: my classmates suck and I hate them
We study cs in school, and my classmates are super dumb.
Here is an example from today:
The task: build an http server in python, using sockets.
My classmates: writes everything in the main function, uses try-expect for everything and every error possible, nothing works, nothing worked after a week.
Me: properly separated to different functions, used goddam regrx to get data from requests, used asyncio to make sure it can handle multiple requests at the same time, everything worked after 2 hours.
But, and here is the problem, after I finish they ask me a bunch of dumb, 'Just Google it dude' questions and they call me condescending because I get mad after the second hour of teaching them the same thing.
Once they told me:"you think you are a better programmer then us" and I just want to say this out loud: I AM A BETTER PROGRAMMER THEN THEM, THEY ARE THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF HOW YOU SHOULDN'T DO ANYTHING AND I HATE THEM.
That's it, I'm done. I feel much better now.
PS: it's okay to suck at programming, but please stop thinking that everyone who's better than you is condescending.4 -
Anyone else like... REALLY bad at algorithms and logic stuff?
I just hate them so much.
Tell me to build something and gg done. But all these tests for jobs freak me out.
Like. It probably ends up being something simple and when it's explained I know what to do but at first I just instantly shut down and can't think.5 -
I like wallpapers, but I hate having to download them by hand. So I made a Python script.
Now I have more wallpapers than I know what to do with!

Since I can't make many posts, I'll try squeeze them all in one:
1. Phone recruitment interview went "well", I even spoke french at some point! 😃
I have to brush up my knowledge again for the technical test (I hate them). Somehow I got excited, which I shouldn't, but only time will tell...
2. My brain is stuck with opening a Twitter account, mainly for following people/companies news. I don't know if it's worth it, so I would your feedback on this.
3. I've finally come down to listening to synthwave while coding and I was wondering if there's any good free service (I'm still poor, so I don't want neither Deezer nor Spotify), preferably with a UWP app on Windows 10 (that is not Soundcloud).4 -

Alright! I take it back. I don’t like “this”. Hooks are better. But are they the best? We will see.
Namaste.3 -
App idea: Program that processes funny dog/cat videos and removes the annoying ass thought bubble text they put in them. Like "I is hungreh" or "you is doin me a concern" or whatever. That shit. I hate it.6
-
3.5 fucking hours wasted. Trying to get a fucking webform to post using smtp and swiftmailer. Fucking webforms, I fucking hate them. Done it now though.
-
I usually never put stickers on my laptop, as they usually fade away and leave nasty residue after a while, therefore I fucking hate having discovered stickermule, I have right now ~100$ worth of stickers favorited, I really have to hold back to not just pull the trigger on them and finally smash my laptop full of them, including my devrant stickers, that have been laying here for a long time now. 😫1
-
I hate interviews. I am not too keen on giving them and not too great at taking them, though I typically do well.
We are smart people, there has to be a better way than coding things on the fly... -
I hate the overuse of arrow function everywhere even for super long expression. that `function` should fit to them more comfortably .
writer of code should aware that it take three time more to read expiration with arrow function inside5 -
I use to work with a lot of people from all around the world, so i can say from the very first meeting if you are a good dev or not, and darn ! i hate the self confident devs who think they are the best, especially when they are junior !
I want to tell them : WAKE UP ! YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD !!7 -
When another "front-end developer" appends the entire bootstrap CSS file to your templates because it needs to align two elements. To templates that never included any css framework cuz i hate them... Then he asked me for help because it did not work... I fixed an invalid CSS file reference.
FUCK HIS LIFE9 -
im new to programming and teaching myself the more i learn the discouraging it becomes. P.S do the guys at stack overflow hate noobs or 'rookie mistakes' because for a community that is supposed to be about answering questions they sure do seem to hate it when I ask them6
-
just read this article (german),
https://trendingtopics.at/wearedeve...
in the interview section, there was the magic sentence
"developers hate recruiters"
it is argued that they do not speak the same language, nor do they have the same background(recruiters are mostly HR or marketing people)
i hate those recruites, who are not even able to write my firstname correctly, when trying to contact me
any other reasons to hate them?3 -
I hate how some people cannot write coherent fucking sentences in an email. I wish I can vote them off to relearn English. When you're describing a fucking issue, you cannot use words like criss cross. WTF does that even mean?!!5
-
I hate that I swap the branches everytime I want to compare them...rant compare swap therewerealotofcharsetchanges whatthefuckdidchangehere branch git whatthefuckjustsetthecorrectsettingsinide4

I started working as back end dev and I was given a pc sadly with no admin rights (which I neede oc) so I happily requested them to IT services. After 3 weeks of waiting got a msg telling me that the script for giving me admin rights was not working so they had to send the request to the next lvl and bla bla bla.
So... I called them. A really nice guy just connected to my pc, used an admin resque account and added my user as admin (2 mins) et voilà. 1 month of waiting for a 2 mins shet. Hate big companies...4 -
I hate it when the clients seem so interested and then stop replying to your emails as soon as you send them your quotation for the project.2
-
JS' array function forEach. Why. Why does it exist? How is a function with a callback better than a freaking simple language feature like for of? If I recall correctly, forEach is older than for of, but people still use it nowadays, and too frequently...
Hate it, definitely.
Also, talking about enumeration in JS, Object's "static" method entries. I can't see how it can't be an instance method. Same for keys and values, but I usually don't care about them.12 -

I hate being a dick as much as the next guy, but damnit I hate spam even more!
And I can't think of a worse kind of spam than religious propaganda sent by your own family members when they already know you ain't religious, heck they even tried to kick me out of the house when I lived with them.
"...send this to 8 more people you wish a day full of blessings"
"YouTube - 10 ways to meditate with Jesus"
"How Stephen Hawkins proves God"
I've had enough, WhatsApp isn't for people to evangelize or send 3000+ characters of copy pasted, mass produced, soul-less "good wishes"; that's why from now on I'm bringing the fight to them, for every spammy text/video/image I get I'll double down and send 10 opposing spam videos or messages.
I just replied a "The most beautiful thoughts, talking to God" video with the monologue of George Carlin on religion and God.
Am I being a dick? kinda
Could I just ask them to stop? I find this more amusing and spares me the "you don't want me to 'talk' to you" shit4 -
What I absolutely hate the most of my workflow is to hand over my code for review to other developers.
I know it is important to prevent errors and to get feedback from them to improve, but I'm far from being self-confident and I'm afraid of showing others my work, regardless of the fact that nobody said anything mean about my work.3 -
I'm just joining this field, and already I hate it when family ask what exactly I'm learning.
I can either dumb it down to the old "I make computer go beep beep" and get met with accusations of rudeness, tell the full details and have them look lost, or try and dumb it down and get met with patronizing remarks ("Oh yeah, I remember doing that last Thrusday! Sure, yeah!).
How do you explain this shit to your folks?9 -
Sometimes I really hate designers.
I was collecting the colors used in a new layout and this only the part with gray colors of what I've ended up with.
(I may just merge some of those, like 7 and 8. Also none of them are results of transparent shading, I made sure)5 -
I hate how React is used almost everywhere nowadays. Especially when single-page applications are used for purposes that don't actually benefit from them.
Perhaps I'm just old-fashioned, but I want websites to work even with client-side JS disabled. At least sites like Amazon don't rely on it, and work just fine. Progressive enhancement is the way to go.4 -
It’s the indian clients everytime!!
I myself an Indian and still I am saying this, Indian clients are the worst.
I had more or less 4 clients from my own country india and literally everyone of them were the worst.
Irony is as an Indian myself I hate to work with typical Indian clients.11 -
I’m sooo excited when any new frontend JS framework is available. Angular, React, more recently Vue, Svelte. Bring ‘em on. I wanna try them all.
Just kidding…
As long as the tools at hand allow me to get the job done, keep clients and end users happy, I don’t give a fuck.
This meme is actually the epitome of what I hate with a lot of web developers I’ve encountered2 -
Ok let's get our hate and love out for the 3 main OS types, tell us why you hate or love each of them.
Windows: I hate its lack of customisation, colours and wallpapers only go so far, and how fucking bloated it is and how little you can do about it.
Linux: it's open, free, and pretty much a sandbox for changes and is lightweight, plus if you don't like something about it, remove it, whats not to love!
MacOS: I love it because it just works and could also run on a potato (yeah I said it, fight me) and it's just a very good looking is with fluid animations and simplicity.
Now, don't be hating on people's opinions here so keep it civil :-P13 -
My boss asked us all to do a 360 review of
Our colleagues. I HATE ratting on my colleagues, even though someone of them are rubbish programmers. He’s the boss, if he doesn’t know how to tell who the bad eggs are, why should I help? It’s not like it get paired for for helping him or get any shares if the company does well.
I won’t rat of my colleagues.1 -

If someone asked me how much I can tolerate meetings from 1 to 10, I would ask why negative numbers are not allowed... I hate them that much, mostly meetings are planned as single person(which is generally organizer) needs to talk everyone in the room but the rest needs the meeting only in percentages like %10 to %20. I am attending to a meeting that includes info about other projects and their calendar because organizer leads both projects...4

Feeling the need to drop a client who always wants the "beer rate" for LOTS of work. Problem is, it's still income I wouldn't otherwise have, I'm a "people pleaser", I hate to cut people loose when I know I can be of help to them, and I hate seeming rude. Anybody got any tips for me?2

nested ternary operators
like/dislike?
I used to hate them cuz I would have to break them apart just to understand them, but now I use ternary operators so much, nesting at least one level is ok for me.
but i'm the only person that reads my code, what's the concensus.. nesting one level bad?
I wouldn't want someone reviewing my code if they couldn't wrap their head around a simple ternary, so if only myself or people more experienced than myself will ever read them, then fuck it, i'm using them10 -
Well I guess yesterday was just a fluke. Today I feel like complete and utter shit. Everything hurts again.
I fucking hate this. I actually WANT to be at school for once. I haven't been there since Wednesday, and I actually hate it. I missed my friends' show this weekend because I could barely get out of bed. I bought a ticket like a week before, I told them I was gonna be there.
Even the girl that I've had a crush on for a while was in the show, and she was so excited when I told her I was gonna see it.
Fucking hell guys, I hate this. Just kill me now -
Thanks I hate it, I hate the fact that typescript will still transpile this. Not an exact copy of the code I'm working with, but close enough. Also this code targets es3, but we generate tsconfigs that say es5 (which don't actually get used) which leads me to believe that we generate them soley for the benefit of ides, and because if they said es3 the ide would show even more errors7

!rant.. When the client makes you do something stupid, and you try to tell them, but they still want it, so you give it to them, and weeks later, they come back asking you to revert it.... ugh!!
I wanna comment on the jira "I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so!!!" so bad..6 -
I have the bad luck to deal with clients who want to phonecall me. "It's quicker", they say.
I hate that, Im not asking them to use Trello, but at least write an email...

I usually switch off the phone all day.5 -
Yesterday : I hate everyone in Microsoft that works on this funding visual studio that now crashing every time I open my project 😤I'm going to kill them

anybody else hate AWS UX/UI
i'd like to think with all that money they could make an idiot proof one for people like me, but i guess im too much of a smooth brained outlier or it's not worth it for them10 -
I hate arrow functions in ES6! Whenever I see them, I get acute code dyslexia and can't read shit. What the fuck is wrong with writing function, why change it for some unreadable series of symbols?10

My relationship with recruiters have always been a love/hate thing in the past. Some are super pushy and borderline bully you into accepting a job if they can.
A close friend of mine has lost their job recently due to COVID-19 related layoffs, and is now in a very vulnerable position both economically and psychologically. Enter recruiters.
This particular recruiting firm in my city is quite notorious for being unpleasant. I just hate how they treat people, and specially in my friend's case, pushing them for information like their previous salary when the recruiter doesn't even have a job lead!
I know they work commission and really want to close the $$$, but sheesh! So irritating!5 -
One of the guys I go to college with asked me for help. I took one look and saw his variable names...
int numberOfCarsInParkingLotSinceLastChecked = 0;
Explained the issue. Or tried. He kept interrupting to ask me about random nonsense ("Would you walk naked into walmart for $500?"). Got fed up, told him to work on it my own.
Fast forward 2 years, and he's erasing my group's planning on whiteboards with "SAVE" on them. Week after week.
I hate that guy.3 -
I hate Windows and I hate Dell.
Apple fucking extorts you but at least it fucking works. macOS works, great UI, unix-like, NO FUCKING INTRUSIVE UPDATES
Did your mac break? We'll replaced, no problem.
Fuck, some company should try to be serious competition to Apple. I'd love to see that day, but untill them I unfortunately have to come back to apple, again and again. Fucking shit.16 -
I hate Windows! BSOD and many other *famous* errors waste my time resolving them.
This happens to me every 6 months and it is so fucking annoying !
The system repairs are so fucking futile! They take so much time *attempting repairs* and in the end give me a failure message.3 -
I hate websites like upwork and freelancer, its impossible to outbid the other applicants while maintaining a price that makes the work worth the trouble. Yet without them its impossible to find clients who are willing to pay $1k for anything no matter how big of a project it is, they keep looking for $200 solutions. Hows a developer supposed to raise some cash for a house and shit like that.1
-
I hate DRM. Not all of it, but most of it for sure. I ended up sending an email to support of some random DRM crap ware to tell them how much I despise them. I get nothing out of it, but they wasted my time so I might as well waste a bit of theirs with some useless email.3
-
I hate all of the OS/langs circlejerks. I think anyone participating in them (in a serious manner) needs to fucking grow up and learn the concept of tools. TL;DR for any OS/lang discussion: Use the right tools for the right job.3

Every team building event, the company run a random draw to organise the teams.
It looks like the random equations not applicable to the beauty lady and the rich guy, they always match together.
What a draw...
Should I give them actual simple running draw app! Or they may hate me :) -
Hate it when recruiters send a template asking about how skillful are you in <insert language here> on a scale of 1-10.
A recruiter sends me a questionnaire, which had almost 10-12 questions. I spent almost 30-40mins, explaining in detail about my past experiences and answering all of them. The next day I got a reject without even a phone call. :/
Why do recruiters even do this without even as much as giving a call to a candidate, and assessing them with a test?5 -
Why am I the only student that others in IT/programming class look up to when it comes down to basic c++ programming??!
It's not *that* hard. Just read the book provided to you by school, goddammit! Just because I can write and use more than one dimension in an array DOES NOT make me any better in prigramming!(or maybe it does, idk)
But, as much as I hate those lads, deep within myself I want to help them get as best of scores in finals as they can. Here's hoping they come around to realise that and pay attention when I try to give them tips...1 -
Some days I hate my work - other days I love it. Usually what happens is I make some poor decision that I have to live with and get super angry with myself, feel my colleagues are disappointed, go home, feel sad, sleep, go back, talk to them about it and try to learn from my mistakes - and then I'm back at loving work. Repeat. Software development is so much more than writing code.
-
UPS website is a clusterfuck of bad design decisions.
I hate myself every time I have to use that piece of shit.
Someone literally went the extra mile to make it worse in any way possible.
I pray to God that person is not alive anymore.
Fuck them.4 -
Why are people so stupid?
Everything you tell them is like hot air for them.
For example, we told them not to write down passwords and what are they doing? They write them down.
We tell them not to install private software on their work phones and what are they doing? They install private software.
We tell them to lock their workstations If they aren't at their place. But their not doing it.
I really hate people...8 -
I just LOVE (hate) watching people click on the ad link to YouTube that's not actually YouTube and then call me over to get them out of the spam site.1
-
I hate systemic problems.
I hate that a stable housing situation and perfect weather and luck are required to work.
I hate that malcontents and malicious people fucked people out of their jobs.
I hate rolling and cancerous financial ruin coming from scammers ponzi schemes and corrupt people who only care about lining their own pockets.
I hate that being middle class is a nightmare of anxiety because nothing is guaranteed.
I hate the lack of services to quickly without stupid catches get a person on their feet.
I hate the retarded take on things these fuckers created to make these problems worse.
I hate hardcore drug addicts and pushers fucking up benefits and services for honest people.
I hate whores stealing houses apartments and jobs by selling their asses and children to old fucked up perverted diseased scum.
I hate schedules that make it hard to get places.
People who drive everywhere because public transportation sucks.
Public transportation sucking because people suck up oil and destroy car after car
Basic housing not being available so people can be safe at night and find jobs.
I hate wars that suck money out of my country
I hate parents that fuck up the next generation by abusing their children
I hate the parents who fucked up the current generation making this time period miserable
I hate people not facing facts about basic necessities
I hate decaying buildings that cost more to repair because no one maintains them
I hate sprawling shit houses that could be combined into towers
And most of all
I hate people taking extreme liberties in destroying my own telling me I have to be careful what I say and I hate fucking liars6 -
I have never yelled at my co-workers in the office. I hate to work with some of them, but I don’t have to bastardise myself yelling at them. There’s always incompetence or ineptitude, but that doesn’t mean I have any right to be incoherently rude. I rather have them embarrass themselves than yell at them.
Even though some of them are an infinite arsehole. I believe that keeping my temperament as gentle as possibly can gain me some respect from my juniors.
Keeping your cool is a BOSS move AF.1 -
I hate moving parts in headphones... Why can't they atleast make them out of metal. I mean do you really need to make flimsy ass tech to make people buy more of it ? Well that gave me a good idea the headphone drivers and lads are still usable i might hook up a new headphones out metal !... Nah i will just buy a new one (god damn you companies and smart business policies you win again)1

I personally hate coding bootcamps or their equivalent. They tend to produce poor developers who I have to clean up after or hold the hand of. Business people love them because they are cheap.
-
tl;dr: crop-rotating projects
I have 3 concurrent projects because I can only remember how I felt about two of them, so this way when I've had enough of pygame's bullshit I can happily continue working on php without my hatred towards asp.net stopping me in any way. By the time I start hating php I will have forgotten why I hate asp and be ready to continue on that. -
Found an institutional coaching centre leaking 1000s of students personal data phone, photo, db, parents info, documents photo path, payment method(bank, check, card) etc. They 32567 rows. I'm trying to find the admin login page. It seems they have it on separate subdomain. I found student login and I can login as any student. I hate these institutes. Sent them emails days ago (29 sept) but no reply yet. What should I do?2

Unpopular opinion: atom and vscode are both shit. I hate using them, I don't think they are at all comfortable to use (for me). I prefer sublime and the bindings that it has.7

The training courses I am currently writing for work. I just love learning stuff, and sharing that knowledge. It's a lot of work though.
It's actually really strange. I am a real introvert, and hate every human, but I love to stand in front of a dozen people and train them...3 -
Question: How would you reimagine the dev interview process, trying to make it efficient to find ingenious freshers?
I'm gonna be hiring full MERN stack dev freshers soon. I hate coding interviews, and I just want to test their ingenuity and problem solving, not if they can code a textbook algorithm.
Plan so far was to ask them questions like: "What happens when you like a link in the browser" to gauge how deep they could track a request and understand the internet infrastructure.
And make them audit gpt generated react code, and optimize it.
What're your thoughts, folks?8 -
I hate General Ed subjects so much.
They waste my time to no end because I hate them and I procrastinate to study them. Meanwhile, I'm not coding because it makes me guilty that I'm focusing on college studies.
Gosh!
#RemoveGenEd4 -
I’ve been looking for a job recently since I am a student and starting my career.
I have a bunch of experience and I like to think I have pretty broad knowledge of programming concepts (web dev, ML, AI, software development).
I see these job postings for jobs that I know I am qualified for.
- I got my research published (which is related to the jobs I’ve been applying for)
- I have great grades
- I have a clear track record of doing well in teams (life long athlete)
- I am a complete geek for new tech and libraries so I always learn them super fast
- I have side projects that aren’t just shit I’ve done in school
- my past jobs show that I am an efficient worker who has real experience
However, I always fucking fail the coding challenges.
I’m never asked questions like “how to reverse a linked list”, just obscure questions that I don’t know how to study for.
What the fuck am I supposed to do? It’s not even like I get close to the answers. I usually get a couple test cases and then fail the rest of them, or I can’t figure out a solution to solve them.
This is all really disheartening and I fucking hate it I absolutely fucking hate it and when I am trying to hire people in the future, I’m never going to make them do coding challenges bc they’re fucking stupid3 -
Am I the only person in this world that hate package managers?
I can live perfectly without any of them1 -
I hate people. I show them devrant or try to abstract a problem to a everyday problem people still reply with "I don't know computers" ignorant fucks.1
-
I fucking hate when people that give you marks are not qualified enough.
Actually, in school, it's two weeks where we conceptualize projects (we don't code them, just have concepts) and we're noted on them.
But there's a partial jury, that has partial opinions, the different juries doesn't share the same opinion and are biased.
I don't know, it's like if because they are programming teachers or communication teacher, they were able to know what will work in the future and what won't. Even in domain they don't know. -

On my Windows I created an empty space to write the linux there. Booted up the architect flash drive, completed some steps, now partitioning. EFI boot partition, swap, home, root I am going to set em' up.
> Automatic partitioning
Ehm, why not? It warns that it will create new partitions. I created free space in my SSD so its ok isn't it? Surely, it will detect that there is a big enough space to create partitions there. I've lost my Windows, projects, files, docs. Fuck them. Fuck them again. Who the fuck created that automatic partitioning?2 -

I hate arguments for the following reasons:
1) I suck at them
2) they can get out of hand
3) their context may be pointless
4) they cause unnecessary pain
5) they end unresolved (sometimes) -

Damn I hate js in the browser. I fixed a bug, but I don't understand what caused it or how my fix works.
I have 2 semantically identical elements that do the same thing, one of them crashes, while the other doesn't. Screw it!3 -
I didnt ask you if it could be done but I asked you how it could be done. Those are two very different things.
I hate it when people won't change the way they work because it wasn't told them that they could do that. You are a human being, not an engine. Adapt.1 -
I really hate when you get rejected in an interview and get no feedbacks and even worse when you reply HR with a question and they not answer you at all and ignore you.
You invest your time for them and then they not even bother to answer you. This is heartful and I have no place to go and can’t complain.
I feel used.3 -
Threading gui's and sockets...
What a painful day...
I honestly hate python dependency hell.

I hate my scrum calls so much. People go into the fucking weeds and the scrum master is so clueless. Doesn't stop them and let people ramble. Jesus christ.
If scrum calls last more than 10 minutes, I think you're doing it wrong.1 -
It's a beautiful day outside. I wish it were raining. We're forced to work Sunday and I already hate it.
There are 52 Sundays in a year, and 1/3 of them are covered in snow, ice and brutal winter. I don't want to be here today. I want to be outside.
Almost everyone in this room has a partner or kids or someone to go home to. I get to go home alone. I hate it here. I can't even look at my manager any more. I hate him. I will never do this again. No amount of money gets you a Sunday back.2 -
Man, I fucking hate browsers. Some of them move at a snails pace when it comes to APIs, and polyfills and bloated frameworks pop up to work around it.
I know it's pretty much impossible, but get together and actually implement the features you're missing from each other, fuck. -
I hate surprises.
I join office after a short leave and the other guy is out with a completely new product I have no clue of. (surprise 1)
Next, he's on leave and now I'm asked to fix bugs.(surprise 2)
Just for the curious, I ended up successfully fixing them and adding 2 features. -
Skipping jasmine tests- especially ones on partials (not the controller). Seriously, QA has automated test suites to test UI functionality. If it takes 30 mins to write the code and 3 hours to write the tests... it may just not be worth the effort when there already is automated testing.
Ugh I hate skipping them but you know how to test the UI? Use the UI. -
Why doesnt Windows have something like KDE connect or Airdrop? I hate uploading files to a cloud and downloading them again on the pc just because i dont have a cable at hand!4

I effing hate Google Play & Google Play Console.
I've uploaded an app and the troubles haven't ended. It is a different error on different devices. Some of them are compile time, some of them run time, some of them just functions the way its not suppose to. And the worst part is that there is no way to track these errors. Google Play Console is utter Horse crap. People tell me that my app crashes and the console reports "nothing to show" under the crashes page.14 -

Tried looking for a filler item but nothing good. Then looked at some funko-pop figures but not that interested... and still cost $10
Finally just went asked them to waive it... but still... that took almost an hour...
And now back to regularly scheduled programming... with 1hr less sleep....oh n it's a Monday... -
They asked me what car i drive 3 times. I felt so fucking embarrassed as fuck. How do i say i drive a 2011 fiat punto a piece of fucking trash junkyard 3000$ car while looking them in the eyes and not die of embarrassment. Being so fucking poor is sick and disgusting to me. I hate my parents for being lazy instead of becoming billionaires so i can be born into infinite wealth34

I think I'm becoming an expert in alt aramaic.
Maybe hebrew. Or galic.
All languages would make more sense to me - although I don't know them - than TFS errors, C Sharp compiler errors or anything else coming from this vomitting, miserere suffering pile of garbage....
Hate. Is too nice....
Seriously, who invented this and thought it would make sense?3 -
Man, I sort of hate when a new colleague enters the company’s GitHub org with a newly created GitHub account only for that job. I mean, I get it, but what’s the purpose of ‘an account’ if you’re going to have 10 or so accounts with all your work, stars, badges, contacts scattered all over them. Just have one, where we can actually get to know you as a fellow dev.5

When I wake up from a full 7 hours of sleep, have Yerba mate ready to go, and have something mildly interesting to work on. Also bonus good mood if my wife and kid aren’t going to be home for the morning. Love seeing them, but hate hearing them while I try to work from home.2

I hate it when you work your ass off for the company product and they don’t even care to send the salary on time. I mean how can you expect your developers to be productive when you don’t even let them have their monthly dose of dopamine. Sometimes this delay can extend to more than one month so young developers out there, please make your decision wisely.3

I read one article about an asteroid causing destruction 10+ years ago and now Google seems to think that I need to know about all the 180 million asteroids orbiting in the asteroid belt. And fill my news feed with facts about each one of them, and which ones could potentially wipe out life from Earth.
I hate this kind of profiling these companies do.3 -
I hate Java. I was using PyCharm for all my python development. I wanted to extend it, but I hate Java. So I looked into other editors - Atom and VScode. But when I found out I would have to extend them with JavaScript, I realised what I was better off with PyCharm again.
Yes I know I could use sublime, but I hate its licensing.2 -
I just hate how all the the internet providers (Sprint and Verizon mainly) just attack each other. It is all about combating, attacking and 1upping to them.2

New Pixel 4a arrived... Hate the defaults... Gestures... I guess at least there was an option to get the buttons back though had to figure out how to open Chrome and Google it.
Now I just need to really for like... The whole day for our to finish downloading 141 apps from backup... And well I'll prolly uninstall half of them...3 -
Slave labour.
I work in software testing and I hate it. Also my job is full of Indians and while I am not racist, I just hate working with them, bunch of soulless robots. I mean I guess I should be grateful that I am not overly stressed or jobless during those difficult times but there's 0 passion in what I do and seems like most companies are not happy about my career shift since I'm not getting hired anywhere else.20 -
In my 4 companies i worked with, one thing which i learnt is the Product documentation is only needed by the Managers, neither the client, nor the users, of course not the developers. We hate them more than the testers.

Does someone know what theme this is?
I hate seeing this images because I'm interested in the theme and of course, they are stock photos, there's no info about them.10 -

Hey folks, I need some tricks. I am currently a junior dev and struggle with starting side projects. I have some fancy ideas I'd love to work on. Problem is, I HATE UI design. I can't start working on an idea because I want them to look awesome. It is absolutely no problem to code the logic / backend, but the fucking design... I just hate it.
For example, I have some fancy ideas for an file manager that fits my needs. Haven't seen something yet like I imagine right now. I mainly code in C# (or Java) and I have to develop custom UI controls for it, align shitty controls, think about freaking color schemes,... I hate it. I simply hate it.
Do you also struggle with that? Any ideas how to overcome that?
Cheers!4 -
I just sent a passionate hate post to my webdev instructor and asking them to stop pumping out incompetent webdevs who code shittiest redux reducers3
-

I have kind of been put in charge of software development in one department of the company I work at. Only myself and a developer in the IT department have ever done programming as our main jobs and follow formal processes. The issue I am having is I don't know how to approach some co-workers assisting me part time with programming to tell them the code they wrote needs major refactoring. Just after a short review there are hundreds of lines of duplicated code and code that is duplicating features built into the framework etc. I just hate conflict and don't know how to tell them we have a lot of work to do. Any advice?2

A question, since I've seen a lot of you guys use noise-canceling headphones... Any recommendations what to buy?
Atm I have Sony's xb950n1 and I really hate them. Thinking of getting Bose QC35 II.2 -
HTML: Tags. I fucking hate them. Yes, Emmet makes it fast and simple to create them, but when restructuring or deleting things it becomes a mess every time. And I cant use a templating engine (i think it's called) at work, also I havent found one that I like.
CSS: Trying to apply CSS to Angular Bootrap Components. Everything has a shadow dom + a lot of things are ! important for some fucking reason. -
Welp, since I wasn't able to compile Vpython on Arch due to the broken API, I will try to do it in a VM running Ubuntu since they have a dedicate package for them.
It's also a good opportunity to try Budgie DE.
I really hate using outdated programs :( -
I think I hate interfaces
I get the purpose behind them, and I understand why they're best practice in most OOP situations.
But goddamn it makes me groan when I change a parameter in a method and then find out I have go do the same in the interface as well.7 -
I'm in a generation and country where I can't imagine why people would have hated Bill Gates.
Are there anyone from the other generation who hated Bill Gates then and now? Who hated him them and not now? Who didn't hate him then and now?
Any thoughts?17 -
As a student still in high school, I hate seeing other teenagers throwing their phones across the campus onto grass or in class throwing them on the floor, it's such a disrespect for technology. I personally feel with how much technology is around everyone daily we become desensitized to how wonderful and extraordinary tech is. That's one reason I am a developer1

So, apparently my client was about to demo the web app that I've just built to many potential users. The audience/users however is an top notch CEO's, and management from various companies.
Oh god, I hate working with them. They just so lousy and perhaps ocd or smtg idk. They literally changed the concept in the middle of development, and event CHANGE THE NAME of the company days before the demo. God, I hate it.
Should I update the repo with dickbutt pics and deployed it asap? I've prepared the branch btw. Its just a matter of click now lol -
I hate using fpdf and mpdf.
I'm sure the people working on them are great, pretty sure they have helped a lot of people, me included.
But boy do I hate not being able to write my html in peace only to find out the style I want to apply isn't supported within a table
It's making me want to jump out the window.
Anyway, I hope you whoever is reading this had a nice day, and if you didn't, you will tomorrow, you got this!1 -
I hate how Amazon is "randomly" selecting orders changing them so they can only be paid with a credit card :/1
-
I fucking hate HP UFT a test "IDE" that needs to be tested itself..before thinking of selling it to organizations to help them test their software..awfull crash crappy bitch ass tool I just hate it and what's even worse is that I'm using it to test an eclipse rcp application...feeling a bit better now.
-
The thing I love about Python is that it has no fricking pointers!!!
I hate pointers and getting a language that doesn't use them
win-win for me!11 -
I hate writing a new technical proposal for every new client because everyone of them is a different animal.
fuck this shit.2 -
I love JS but I hate JS Frameworks. All of them, but react by passion. I used a bit vue with Laravel but meh... Angular i did not tried.7
-
I hate libraries and frameworks that make it extremely difficult to use them, making it so that you have to hook into them in a hacky number of ways..
Yuck, just give me a regular library that I can use. -
i have a hatred for disgusting filthy non-cookies-with-ketchup-eaters and they disgust me, i hate them so much and they dont appreciate the art that is cookies with ketchup.
it pisses me off so fucking much and i hate it, if someone could just eradicate those people off of the earth, i would appreciate that. i have a hit list for people who hate cookies with ketchup, and if you hate it, believe me, i am watching you.
annnnnnnnnnnd, thats too far..3 -
DevOps fucks up. I search and send them docs for reference, to resolve issue. DevOps brushes it off, fucks up even more. Eventually comes back to docs, reads it and fixes it.
Lost 4 good hours, for which I already had productive plans. DevOps is putting the responsibility of checking whether they're setting it up correctly or not, on me, a dev. I hate this! -
Useless macos and app window selection
cmd + ` changes window in webstorm (clever them)
go to other app like chrome, cmd + ` does sfa
go to mac app settings and make cmd + ` work for all apps,
now go to webstorm and cmd + ` takes you out of webstorm if other apps open
i hate it -
i am so fucking angry, i hate all goats!!
one time when i was 7, i was at a zoo on a school field trip and we went to the farm section, and y'know what happened? one of them bit me, one of those ugly stupid goat bitches bit me. from that point on, i had a huge hatred for all goats and farm animals, if i had a choice i would wipe goats off the earth!!
if you agree make sure to join my cult!!3 -
You know what I hate ? All this creepy shit they altered everything into once the thick glass wearing ugly freaks started showing up. All the unpleasantness and unhappiness and creepy things only someone who was stopping a few minutes to murder or rape someone or get fucked by a dog would like. Feel free to take them this content don't want to be around it and I'm sick of it2
-
I fucking hate mobile and iPad ui and general ux. I hate that I get shit for not being able to fix people's problems on them quickly enough with or without googling. Apparently that's my fucking line of work, no I'm just a fucking code monkey, I don't know where whichever asshat hide the setting to Jimmy or abysmal fucking browser implementations in fucking mobile chrome that makes it unable for you to buy car parts but it fucking works fine on a desktop browser. I ront want to reset your fucking weak passwords because you never remember them.
I can't even change my fucking phones background, or figure out or I lack voicemail because my plan or the fucking optoknnisnt present (one plus 2) and don't care enough to put more time or google it.
Maybe I'm just fucking incompetent. I like being able just to right click shift on desktop, going to properties or running both commands.
I never will stop being an imposter until I can fucking fix anything like a legit engineer. -
i hate it when Im coding and my friends joke around and call me a hacker or nerd when they couldn't even print anything if i told them how to do it plus its not hacking if you believe its hacking when im typing code on python or c# online then you need to go back to school6
