Me: *desperately trying to finish a webpage before 5pm deadline*
Girlfriend: Why are you always so focused on your computer? You never pay attention to me.
Me: You know I have to work. Besides, you'll always be number 1 in my heart
Girlfriend: Aww that was cute. Okay I'll let you finish working
Me to me: ...arrays start at 0. *continues typing*

People are posting their setups so I thought I'd post this.
It's a 2012 MacBook Pro, 13 inch. I put 16GB ram and some solid state in there just so it gets the job done.
When I was a freshman in high school, my dad saw something in me that he believed in (and I didn't). He decided to put his money where his heart was. He told me that he would go out and buy me a computer, and I wouldn't have to pay him back, if I would work hard at programming to pay for my own college.
His investment payed off. I just graduated high school and started a job last week that will get me through college debt-free through the gap year that I'm taking. This machine's getting a little old, but it means a lot to me. It reminds me that my dad believed in me even when I didn't. 🖖🏼12 -
I was just scrolling down a Facebook feed and a part of a picture with Linus Torvalds appeared.

And then... "Happy birthday!"

It's saddening to see that most of the students in my programming class don't care about programming :(
And it's heart breaking to see that the professor is using html4 instead of html5. 😣😣11 -

TLDR; funny revenge prank from my manager
So yesterday (April 2) I decided to prank my manager about me resigning (I've been working with them for 4 years) I wrote a legit looking resignation letter. (No signature) and at the back page it has a small font "April fools".
I asked my junior to help putting it on my managers desk since I was working from home. When my manager saw it he immediately had a meeting with my technical lead. he didnt notice the april fools at the back so I sent him a short email to look at the back and he laughed.
Come today, I recieved an email from our it team with the subject "POST RESIGNATION PROCEDURES FOR JUNNERS". It has some legit looking contents as well as a hyperlInk for a resignation checklist.
It felt like im having a mini heart attack since I thought it was legit. When I opened the hyperlink I was shocked.
I love my job 😂6 -

I wonder if those people who give unwarranted useless advice to developers go to their doctors and do the same thing.
- Doc, just make a small slit, take out old heart, put in a new one, connect everything back as before and stitch it. Easy peasy. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes.
- my leg is fractured. Just open it and tape it back. It is a hack job, but it'll make the client happy for now. It will be quickly done.
- I think I have cancer. Just write a script to kill it. Shouldn't be too difficult.
Fuckers.4 -
Not my own rant, but when I see some user asking for refunds on a free app, I just gotta share it. See the developer's heart-warming response.12

This one is for devs and gamers.
But first some background story.
My girlfriend is special. Not just generically lovey mush mush special. She is 1 in 100 more accurately 1 in 10000. She was born with a rare Congenital Heart Defect {CHD}. Called Truncus Arteriosus or TA for sake of brevity. TA's main thing is the two main arteries going into the heart are fused together and never seperated at birth. It's bad news. There is no cure for this kind of thing. Simply repairs that happen over the course of life.
So here is me. Desperately trying to find a way to get the word about this and the 40 other types of CHD out there in the world. I thought. "What if I make a game..." Not based around the medical jargon but on a level people could understand. I spent the better part of the last six years attending appointments with her and still don't get it. What I do get is her Emotional state. How her CHD causes her to think and feel.
So here is the pitch.
The game is about a girl who is diagnosed at birth with a CHD. She is now in her 20's and has to undergo an open heart surgery to repair the defect. The day comes. She goes under but when she wakes up she find herself in a final fantasy style environment. This new world has a darkness cast over it. She is unknowingly the hero of this world and she has to face off with multiple bosses of varied degrees of evil.
Then after beating these bosses she really wakes up from the surgery. Waking up to the realization that the world she saved was herself. And all the bosses were manifestations of her own internal feelings. Depression, anxiety, hopelessness, Denise, desire and so on.
I would sell this game with the caveat that 2/3 of all profits get split between the Adult Congenital Heart Association and Project Heart. As those are the two main organizations that deal heavily with creating standards of care and raising awareness for CHD survivors.
Thoughts?
Note: I am still learning game dev. This is an eventual goal for me.35 -

Nearly had a crash today driving home and almost had a heart attack. Apparently my car had the heart attack for me and started doing. A speaker test.
So I'm contemplating what just happened and my car's speakers start going BEEEEP BEEEP BOOOOOOOOOOOOP (Subwoofer).
Then the radio came on and switched to a Spanish station.
I looked it up, apparently I had entered diagnostic mode on the infotainment system when I was fiddling with the wheel buttons as a stress relief.
Long story short, the diagnostic mode informed me that my car runs Windows ME!
I would like a new car please, kthxbye.6 -
After a painstakingly slow conversion of a VM virtual hd, I got informed with this.

I really, really hate it when someone has a problem/question, and I really dedicate my heart and soul to write a really good answer that even a stupid person would understand - with drawing, explanations and shit. And they answer is just:
"Thanks"
"Ok"
"I dont get it"
"Can you please do it"
"you spelled that wrong"10 -

when we forsake our logic

This day we will find solutions on StackOverflow!!

I bid you stand,

Not that i mean any disrespect but fuck you. Fuck you and all that you stand for. No seriously, just go hit a train and die.

And you wont accept my printed out output?
Fuck you from the depths of my heart.
Go ahead and dont accept my project.

Me:(kills the CTRL +S buttons saving something)
Boss: what are you doing ?
Me: nothing much, saving a document.
Boss: is that the best way to save it?
Me: no, it got saved the very first time, the rest is to convince my heart I saved it.
Boss: ... ... ... fair enough.5 -
So my localization algorithm actually runs onboard my YouBot :)
My paper was basically torn apart by my professor, so I had to write some new classes and redo the whole experimental section. And all the other sections too. I resubmitted it to him after revisions, and the second iteration was way better - I'm really close to final paper level :)
I told my professor and postdoc that I will appreciate more support and positive feedback, because so far our communication was only very dry criticism. For me it's really devastating, because feeling like I constantly disappoint people just kills me on the inside.
It seems like they took it to heart, they have been nicer to me in the last few days :)6 -
Job interview..

Interviewer: Ok. 2nd question... Asks the ques..
Me: (relieved that 1st ques got over) Took some time 5 mins to come up with solution..
Interviewer: ok. 3rd question..
Me: ( feeling so happy that I solved 2 questions and reached the 3rd question)
Interviewer: Let's go back to first question and tell me a scenario that will fail in ur logic..( yes this is the 3rd question)
Me: Damnnn.. My heart stopped.. It took me 40 mins to figure out the logic that worked with different inputs I tried n now, I have to find some scenario that won't work...10 -

It is with a heavy heart that I said aufwiedersehen to my mom last night. She passed peacefully in her sleep, and is now resting in the fields and forests of heaven. She was born in 1932 in Hamburg, Germany, and at age 7 the world around her exploded into one of the most horrific wars that Europe or the world had seen up to that time. By the time it was over, she was thirteen, and had spent many of her formative years witnessing how low humanity can get in the treatement of fellow humans. She survived the post-war years, and came to the US in the late 1950's, and met my dad while in nursing school. She had four chidren, Tim, Chris, Tanya, and myself. She was a doting and caring mom, who dedicated herself to raising her children. She loved to cook, loved animals, especially dogs, and love human beings in general, and had a compassionate and kind heart. There is a small, empty space in the world that she filled, but heaven is a little brighter with her smile and her laughter. I miss you mom, but I know I will see you again some day. Aufwiedersehen, lieber Mutti! Wir sehen uns bald.15

I took a civil service exam October last year, the list of passers where posted in the government website last December. My name wasn't on the list. I was heart broken. :'(
I wasn't able to apply for the job I wanted. I thought that I'm so stupid I can't even pass an exam.
I was depressed for almost a month.
Then yesterday, a friend of mine was searching google since I refuse to tell her my middle name.
Suddenly she exclaimed, wow! you're a civil service exam passer!
I was shocked beyond belief!
I checked the website, my name is still not there. HAHA. (deep inside it hurts)
I cursed my friend for trolling me but she swear that it's true. She sent me the link and BOOM! my name is on the list of APRIL passers!
WHAT THE HECK???
i just verified through phone that I actually passed and that it was an error on their website that included me on the wrong list. I don't know whether to be angry or pleased. lol XDundefined error404 name not found oops it's there...wrong error. i passed oh my gosh after 6 months good news8 -

Lets have a moment of silence for the devs who created IE and Edge.
I'm sure many who worked on them are great devs and at one point were very proud and inspired by their work but upper management ultimately fucked everything up. The IE guys have since been ridiculed and the Edge devs had to create a peice of software that they knew was destined to be one of the most critically reviewed and ridiculed releases ever.
My heart goes out to all of you and we would love to hear your rants. Your welcome here anytime.4 -

So my coworker Bilbo died over the weekend of a heart attack. He was one of the first people to take me to lunch at this company. He was always kind and took time to make people welcome. He is a good person and I will miss him. He was only about 50.

I as the "coffeedrinker" stopped drinking coffee and energy drinks. I do not want to be anyone's boss but if you think you can live without them, do it. I am fairly young and after a long period of frequent consumption ( 1 coffee or drink per day), I was waking up at nights or struggling during the days from constant heart pains. Now 2 months later this phenomenon happens seldom and I feel better and more refreshed after my sleeping. I know this is irrelevant but I know fellow devs that overconsume these kind of drinks. At least if you can limit your dose! :) I just want everyone to be healthy and happy! Have a nice day! ♥60

We got an HTC Vive from my girlfriend’s brother two weeks ago. We’ve been enjoying it, playing games, looking at places to move, using it as a virtual vacation (since we haven’t left the house in months thanks to covid and sweltering heat), etc. It’s been amazing.
Today, my 1yo decided it would be great fun to wrap its cord in the exercise bike and spin the pedals (and therefore flywheel) as fast as he could. It ripped the headset band off, broke the plastic attachment, and tore the cables out. He also broke the pedal somehow.
So no more Vive.
We can probably get it fixed, but.
My heart hurts.9 -
So a few months ago I started dating. I love my girlfriend with all my heart, but something has been bothering me a bit. I can no longer easily do my day-to-day work. Whereas previously I would be productive at any time I want, now it's more of a "I can work whenever she wants to work". It's hard to balance and even harder to actually get to it.
Previously I would stay with her during the day, and then wake up in the night to do all the household chores, learn her language and if I can get to it, even improve some of my shitty code. Needless to say, she didn't like that I didn't sleep with her and it's not exactly healthy either - I barely slept at all.
How do you balance work/relationship without throwing sleep time in the mix? Both work and girlfriend are at home for me.7 -
Linux gives you so much freedom, for example the freedom to fuck your system.
When i was experimenting with bootsticks i typed the following in the terminal:
sudo dd if=bootstick.iso of=/dev/sdb
Where is the mistake? The usb-stick was already plugged in at boot-time and since it was bootable linux mint named it /dev/sda.
You propably already realized it, i wrote the iso the my harddrive. My attempts to restore the partition-table failed, but luckily the kernel still had it in memory and i was able to backup my files via nautilus.
Still, i nearly had a heart attack11 -
My friend who is new to Android App Dev was trying to make a simple app that programmatically takes a pic then sends it as an MMS. He opened Stack Overflow, copied code and i heard him murmur "hmm this is simple". Knowing the future, and the wrath of Android Studio, i leaned into my seat and waited. 2 hours later i knew Andy Studio had pissed all over him and it was written all over his face. I walked past him as if to go to the toilet then back again, his screen was blood red with errors and my heart danced and sang.
3 hours later i was out of the room and he sent me a text saying "I give up". I replied, "well tbh, im suprised it took you that long"
Thank you Android Studio for showing all those who think all we do is copy and paste code that they are freakin retards.4 -

I once posted a snarky rant about the inadequacies of our vendor's product on their own social media page... It appeared during a live demo about "Managing Reputation on Social Media" with several marketing dept. executives and ruffled some feathers.

It was our first computer. probably it was 2008. I was super stupid back then. One day I saw a text file in our desktop, which says, "Hey $username, how are you? Message me here I-forgot-his-email@yahoo.com"
No matter how much we delete the text file, it kept on recreating and keep on adding same texts with multiple lines. I was really annoyed!
Yahoo messenger was popular back then. So I messaged the person using Yahoo messenger and he replied. Our conversation went this way:
Me: (after explaining a bit about the text file) what is this?
Him: it is a virus
Me: how do I delete this?
Him: if I teach you how to delete it, the whole purpose of creating it would be in vain
Me: okay, how do I create something like this?
Him: just Google
That day I was swearing at him from the bottom of my heart, not through messenger, but from my mind, because he didn't teach me how he made that virus.
I was like, "I will show you ***** that even I can make a virus better than that". So, I started googling & started learning how to make these scripts. The more I learned, the more it blew my mind. I was creating simple stuffs like, opening/closing CD rom every 5 seconds. It was so fun back then. Cause, my friends had no clue why their CD roms kept opening every 5 seconds.
After a few days, I started to thank the virus creator from the bottom of my heart. Cause, if he taught me how to create THAT virus that day, I probably would've just learned THAT one thing and stopped. But because he didn't teach me that, to learn one thing, I got to learn more than that one thing, which I'm really thankful for.
And then the journey started. Learned Batch, VBscript, C, C++, Java and so on. And still learning new things everyday...4 -

Regex.
I HATE YOU.
There. I've said it.
I spent the better part of the last hour trying to wrangle together, not one, but TWO regexes and getting them to work with Python's "re" module.
The worst part about these little shits? It's how well they work once you figure out how to get them to work. For example, pulling a phone number out of a paragraph is difficult with string methods, but cake with regex . . . if you can figure out the pattern.
But I think I'll always have hate in my heart for Regex just for how obtuse and frustrating they can be.
F**k you regex.19 -
Reminder to look after yourselves.
Today I found out I've had hypertension and possibly an unruptured aneurysm. Resulting from stress at work and home, overworking and bad diet from having to keep my engery up for work. (over the last around 2-3 years).
Luckly I've moved away from stressful situations now so I'm feeling like I've dodged a rather large bullet!
Look after yourselves guys, take breaks, check your caffeine, sugar and cholesterol intakes and keep active! I reckon the 6 days a week football training saved my life!
hypertension is a silent killer and can cause fatal damage to your organs such as kidneys, lungs, eyes, brain and heart.
Luckly it spotted it early with a blood test and optician visit. I had a hemorrhage in one of my eyes but wasn't until 6 months later GP noticed signs of kidney damage from my blood test it was found!
I should be fine but look after yourselves! You're more important than that deadline!7 -

Today at work I saw 2 tech guys (Russians) that tried to fix an audio system at my hospital clinic.
The PL-3.5 cable was unable to transfer any sound to the speakers from the secretary PC.
So they tried to plug it into one of their phones, to rule out the possibility that it is because of the PC headphones plug.
(The speaker volume currently is on *maximum* btw)
1st guy said "Let's play something nice and relaxing, so the patients (mostly old people) won't get an heart attack"
The 2nd ask "So what should I search in YouTube?"
Then the 1st said "Metallica"4 -

Once while making a automation program for a friends errr academic betterment. I realized I had taken three of the sacred caffeine pills and chewed them unlike normal. So for my programming class, we had to make a game using Scratch. No problem, I said. Scratch is easy stuff. Just drag and drop blocks. Like legos. Legos that actually do shit. Cool.
So my game is about a dog underneath a plinko set, dodging balls that come down the plinko thing. Easy enough. I figured I would spice things up a bit. My teacher has to go through 20 of these games, I figured I'd make mine interesting. I add a little heart system.
Now for those of you who don't know Scratch, or don't care enough to look it up, all of Scratch's codes are within the sprite themselves. They can communicate with other sprites with a thing called broadcasting. When other sprites receive a broadcast, it can activate a script. yeah, cool.
So I had a script on the dog, that broadcasts a message to the heart system to remove a heart when the dog is hit. So to keep things short, I call the broadcast "Dog's hit."
For anyone who knows programming, computers have no clue what an apostrophe or a space is. They can't read it unless you have it all letters, maybe a semicolon. So, I removed the space and apostrophe, with my innocent 17 year-old mind not realizing this makes it "Dogshit."
Game's finished. Finally. Due date comes in, I submit it all proud and everything. I just created the best dog-plinko simulator of all time. Later that day, I show it to my friend, who then points out the typo.
At this point, my teacher already graded it. I went down to see him after school, and he must've known why I went down as soon as I walked in the door, and just cracked up. He told me it was fine, and not to do it again.
I left red.4 -

Working for a company where the coworkers working 24/7 and the boss (ceo) expect me to do the same, even working on weekends.
But when i mentioned I have life distinctly personal and working life. But no, boss wouldn’t care much about my life anyway.
I got call names for being a not team player, not committed much , a thief (“ I paid you money but you didn’t work 24/7”) and they even claimed I don’t have heart to work.
It affect my personal so much that I can’t be happy even on the weekends. I got perturbed sleeps. Keep thinking of working .
Obviously they played well on guilt tripping me.8 -

Another failed interview after I poured my heart and soul into an employers interview project. I Pulled all nighters. I worked so hard and really pushed myself this time. The interview went really well and I had a lot of positive feedback but I didn't get the job because they hired someone with more experience.Im am so passionate about becoming an Android Developer but it saddens me that I will never be able to get a job doing it because there are always people more experienced than me. I'm absolutely gutted. IV worked so hard to get this far. I'm about to give up. What's the fucking point.... Devistated.16

Today I replaced my php teacher (who was ill) during 3 hours. It's not the first time, I already helped my fellow students for this php class but this time it was different. It's was kind of official since my teacher came in and said "Adrien will give you the lesson today, he knows it by heart".
I have to say that I'm starting to like teaching, the satisfaction that you helped someone getting better at something is just amazing. It was a really good experience !9 -
After working 3 years in my current job and my boss hating anything to do with unit testing etc, I used my spare time to refactor our Makefiles to allow for the creation of unit and integration tests. I technically didn't tell my boss about it, so my heart was in my throat when he Skyped me with 'what did you change in ...'?
After having bashed any workflow with testing in it, I showed him the new workflow and automatic testing in Jenkins and he was actually enthousiastic, just like all other employees! I was hailed a hero in the R&D department, after all this time we can finally write universal tests. :D7 -
Sort of !dev
I can't do school anymore. I get so many panic attacks. I was shaking the entire time I was writing my essay today. It's hard to focus when your brain is fucking freaking out. I'm missing deadlines, failing tests left and right.
Real talk, I'm not dumb. This was never a problem. My University fucked me up and now I can't even look at an assignment without an electric feeling and I don't know what to do.
I had a panic attack during the opening crawl of Star Wars. I had to leave the theater. My anxiety is going to give me a heart attack one of these times. I'm 18, why am I experiencing health issues like this?
School isn't done right. How could this be the intended effect?9 -
Every time I see this my heart starts beating like crazy, I'm filled with joy and hope and I feel like living my life right. Like in the Christmas morning.
Usually, this feeling lasts until I click on the notification. After clicking on it all these feelings are usually replaced with despair, frustration and sometimes even anger.7 -
I love Test-Driven Development!
And because of that fact, my heart shatters into thousands of pieces, when I recognize error events on our production nodes which are pointing onto a golden hammer function in a legacy project.
This particular function has about 300 lines with a bunch of subfunction calls and instantiations of helper-classes returning information for workflow.
Refactoring this code to apply proper unit-tests requires a way bigger investment than simply deal with 30 eventlogs a day, because this kind of payment is barely used by customers of our webshop.
This fact is a little itch each day of my work.
Guess it will make me go insane one day
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It seems Microsoft have taken my critique of Azure last week to heart. Last week, I insinuated that perhaps hometime on Friday was an inconvenient time of day for major downtime.
This week they've rectified their previous fault, and in their great mercy have decided to take down service at the busiest time of the day on Thursday instead.2 -
Howdy this is a daily reminder on why you can't trust anyone with shared information.
I am back home from uni for the holidays and like any computer person who is back in town became responsible for fixing every tech problem that has occurred since my last visit. But what caught my eye when I approached the family computer is not the problem with the computer itself, it's the paper in front of the computer that, in giant lettering, has not only the passwords and account names of my mom and brother's AOL (She's old ok) and FAFSA account respectively but also someone's social security number. Any goddam baffoon who looks through the window or is able to take literally three goddam steps past the front door now has enough information to commit identity theft or just take over one of their accounts. I know it's not that likely but I still had a heart attack when I saw that.
How badly have I failed them?1 -
Fuck the new ECMAScript 2018 specifications.
https://youtu.be/s-G_RZ4RJLU
I mean seriously? How the hell is dot syntax gonna make it more readable?
Also, i love the brackets, braces and semicolon. Hate to see them deprecated.
Almost gave me a heart attack and my head was boiling watching it.
😓😌6 -
Github is having issues right now. I'm remembering fond memories of having a local gitlab server...
My heart is telling me yes, but experience is telling me I wont care next week and I'll just spend a few hours setting up a server for no reason.1 -
I can't stop myself from thinking like a computer when I'm sick.
The OS that runs my body is kinda fucked up right now. It was very vulnerable and now it got infected by viral executables sent out by an agent which happens to be on same work network that I'm connected to. Well, it executed and populated feelings of infatuation and crush in my heart drive. ( pun intended )
As a precaution, I patched the vulnerabilities by masking response of my Emotions API.
To further secure my system, I'll be executing memory intensive tasks that will also put my hardware to it's limits. According to my estimates, this will stall further execution of this infection and eventually kill them while rewarding me with upgraded hardware.4 -
I know I'm gonna catch heat here but if you insist on using vim or emacs on any OS that is in GUI mode just know I think you are mental... I get it you have shortcuts but so do sublime, atom or vs code. Plus intellisense.
Don't get me wrong I started with vim and have a special place in my heart but I know people only use it to beat their chests.
And just so everyone knows a little about me:
Spaces>tabs
Vim>emacs>nano
Linux>windows>macOS
I hate JavaScript
And mtn dew is a better drink than coke or Pepsi.20 -
C is probably my favorite programming language. I use it for learning new concepts and implementing algorithms.
It's just sometimes I hate that I have to do everything myself when I need to focus on the solution/concept instead.
P.S., I hate C++ from all my heart. It's an abomination and a deformity of C.21 -
Call centre manager was made VP of my tech company. Is now directing the programming department.
Yesterday she spent 30 minutes looking through Excel files in an attempt to prove me wrong. Literally found nothing, with 3 other people in the meeting.
Repeatedly told everyone she was "not crazy" in her failed attempt to throw me under the bus.
I love coding, but these human interactions are going to give me a heart attack.3 -
I just got ran off the road, in real life. My heart won't stop beating. Not a joke, or a funny story, I can't seem to relax.3

So today i went to another town for a car service, and by accident i met a very old man looking at the cars in the saloon, he was very calm person, in conversation he said he was system analyst and a COBOL developer in a big industry... but what got me the most he said he survided FOUR heart attacks... i don't know if that was a common practice for COBOL developers but i do php most of the time... so... i just wanted to say hello guys... and delete my browser history if i'm not around for some time :)4

Programming for an app with really bad UX is like acting in a movie with a terrible script.
You have to put your heart and souls into what you’re doing. But ultimately the final product will turn out bad due to forces outside of your own control.
There is no UX designer at my start up and our app looks like $hit.7 -
Last night by accident I put my phone on coconut paste. (don't ask.)
Although it doesn't show signs of damage, and hopefully it hasn't been damaged, my heart is still not at rest. I had enough panic for one year.
But why does this keep happening to me with tech stuff accidents? Whyyyyyyy?20 -
My heart tells me to continue to phd, but my shopping habits say I need to finish the master ASAP and get a well-paying job.6

I hate lying customers.
Today a customer opened a support ticket related to his website account. Apparently he is losing his session right after the login success.
I've debugged everything, checked all logs and couldn't reproduce it.
I know every bit of business logic on the website by heart.
The only explanation could be that his browser either doesn't allow cookies or expires them after page change.
So I asked him to check.
"Yes, cookies are allowed in my browser" he wrote.
Well... fuck me... I will change the code to put the session ID in the URL as well. If it works - and I'm 100% sure of that - I will personally mail him a collection of the finest turds.4 -
I work on a warehouse dev team. One day this past year, I was trying to deploy a new build to a QA server. Earlier that day I had been looking at the logs on the production server and had left the ssh session open. I had been working for less than a year out of college at this point and shouldn't have had access to deploy to the production server.
Long story short I deployed my QA build to the production server and saw there were problems connection to our production database. Then my heart dropped in my chest as I realized I had just brought down our production server.
I managed to get the server back up by rolling back in about 5 minutes and no one ever knew except some people on my team.
I felt horrible for the longest time. Later in the year another guy that joined my team that has about 20 years of experience under his belt did the exact same thing, but needed help rolling it back. Needless to say, that made me feel a lot better. 😂
Definitely the worst moment of my year.3 -
I think I might get close to a burnout. Last week was extremely stressful because of a deadline and I worked 45 hours in 4 days. Even in the evening my heart is pounding like a coke addict who had his last nose 1 hour ago.
What is your personal way of dealing with (work related) stress?
What activities help you best to cool down and relax?
I've not yet tried meditation but am trying to take some time to regularly do sport after the work, hopefully it helps.6 -
I use to have a comic online. It wasn't popular or profitable, but I loved every minute of working on it, so it remains my favorite project of all time.
I know that barely qualifies as a 'dev' project, but... it's what was in my heart so shut up THERE'S SOMETHING IN MY EYE3 -
now that i paused the project with mr turdface PM and started working on other topics, i was hoping that finally i could get a bit more peace of mind. but now i'm down with headaches for several days and just feeling terribly sad.
i feel like i've torn out my own heart for this job and handed it on a silver platter, and now i feel like i've lost too much blood and there's not enough left for myself.5 -
Doesn't matter how many years I do this job, a merge conflict will always stop my heart for a good few seconds.7

I have ADHD. If you don't know what that means, for me it makes me a better software engineer. I can't do repetitive, so my code is by definition DRY. If someone needs help, I'll notice and help because my brain can't filter out the emotion of someone struggling. I fixate on problems I don't know how to solve, I literally struggle to stop myself. The list goes on. But, at its heart, who gives a shit?
I'm a software engineer, and I'm good at what I do. Does anything else matter?17 -
totally !dev
I just saw my team mate clean his glasses with that micro fiber cloth that they give along with the specs. He just like, opened his bag, picked up his specs box, took that itsy bitsy piece of clothing and wiped his glasses!!!!!
My heart stopped for a bit :-/
Who the hell does that. Sheeesh.5 -

Ok, I see a lot of hate about PHP and I always wondered what is the experiences people have had with PHP to like or dislike it.
Personally, PHP was the first programming language I learnt and used, so it has it's special place in my heart.
I acknowledge that it has it's pros and cons (as any other programming language). My hypothesis is : People have used php in a project they didn't like or didn't turned out how they expected. Or they used php for something it wasn't ment for.
Do people hate php because it's a trend ? How many php haters have good reasons to hate it that much ?
I'm just curious to know the thoughts and experiences (good or bad) of other devs.11 -
I have become so paranoid at every ++ and comment on my rants my heart races if someone has the same name as a colleague FML, thought this was going to relieve stress 😨1

Feeling so dumb right know.
I have a C# exam tomorrow (on paper) and i can't get my brain to think in code.
I can't focus, I can't concentrate. I don't remember things i normally know by heart. Is it just stress? (Everything is pretty hard atm, lots of stress, lots of problems).
What could i do? I'm pretty messed up right now...13 -
This is not something new but I want to say it loud again.
With all my heart, fuck you internet explorer. Windows should release a FORCED update (sorry for that) and remove it from every fucking version of windows and antivirus programs should detect it as a virus. It should be removed from existence and browser lists and also saying its name should be crime. Also, please remove it and any releated memories with it from our brains.
Thanks.9 -
I work for a consulting company, my boss comes into the room full of engineers trying to work on Adwords campaign and asks us what words to use. "Should I use blockchain, I heart that's popular. What about AR?" None of us have ever touched any of those technologies and he's going to try and market us as such to some poor potential client he's going to B.S to. Get me out of here.2

Talking about bad error messages
I missed the regular enrollment period for courses starting in 2 weeks, but I did have late enrollment days, which I remembered.
When wanting to late enroll, I was greeted with th error message in the picture. Bad news first, good news later I guess
As you can imagine, my heart skipped a beat. Nonetheless, it was all good in the end, because I was already enrolled for the compulsory courses I wanted to take4 -
I carry a mac M2.
My brother has a similar bag to mine.
He put his bag in place where I used to put mine.
I went and opened bag.
There was NO Mac M2.
My heart nearly skipped a beat.10 -
What a horrible monday today was. Fuck-all worked. Missed deadline. Not much sleep. Heart is racing.

I like my work colleague, great to talk to, bless his heart, however he has this mysterious power to make whatever he writes sound super passive aggressive or aloof. For instance:
Me: this request , to clarify you want me to do this, as per this document
Him: is that what you presume?
Me: 🤨2 -
Few weeks back, late night, busy watching online series and suddenly, junior pings me and asks for doubts related to implementation design and then implementation in nodejs (which I touched long long ago). And, me being attracted towards debugging, and kind heart to help the junior(hihi kind heart), helped to completely resolve the issue by texting and screenshot of logs sent over message.. just to mention. Time was around 2-3 am.. my most effective time period..

My senior keep touching my laptop screen whenever I am showing him something on my laptop and I hate it from the bottom of my heart.
What do you think is the best creative way to tell him to stop?18 -
I have come to realize that my stress comes from how inefficient my clients use their tech.
I have to stop caring. Is it up? Is it running? Good. That should be where my investment ends.
I shouldn't fear a heart attack or stroke because of some clients' inefficiency.
IT'S JUST SO DAMN HARD. -
Person: Let's rub this lamp
* Genie comes out of the lamp *
Genie: You have three wishes. You know the rules. What do you want?
Person: Can you open this jar? It's so tight
Genie: What? That's it? That's a wish? Someone call an ambulance, I'm having a heart attack
PS: Now replace the Genie character with me and replace the person character with my manager. This is the kind of work I do at work and what my manager and leadership team asks of me7 -
my covid is still not recovered. Today marks the two weeks. I got fever the first day and then fever was gone but body pain and weakness was there. In 2 days, body pain was gone too. Now I couldn't only eat well. So tried light food but after sometime it was harder to eat properly.
Now I'm having the same diet I used to have before covid, but I'm still not feeling well. I feel pain in my shoulders. My heart races almost all the time and that gives restlessness to my days and it's very hard to focus because of that. Family issues, work, excitement of switching companies, even small bit of sound makes me more restless. If someone has the same symptoms when did they last?27 -
So with my current windows heavy workload it is with a heavy heart that I commit to learning powershell. Wish me luck8

Today we found out that my brother has a condition, triggered by a stressful event, that causes his heart to try and shutdown.
The dev in me is screaming "fix the bug!"
The crazy in me wants to start punching doctors in the face til we find a solution.
But the rational side of me knows there's nothing that I can do because that magical asshole in the sky didn't commented his code...3 -
Do you know one major thing (among others of course) that has made devrant feel like home for me after swearing off social media for a long time?
Common ground with users dealing with absolute, insane incompetency at work (I have it real bad at my job).
This doesn't so much make me angry or frustrate me as it makes me sad.
Everyone has varying levels of intelligence in infinite disciplines. Someone could make you cry because they play violin so beautifully but they can't tell you 4 + 4 because they are completely dense, but boy are they genius with that instrument.
Everyone is GREAT at something, that's capitalism's strength! Everyone can excel! I'm lucky enough to truly in my heart believe that programming, data and game development is my true calling...and I personally think I'm amazing at it.
It breaks my heart when people fall into or pursue something that clearly they just don't have enough passion for or regardless just don't have the skill for.
They become toxic to themselves, their employees/coworkers, their industry.
Sadly, power is given to people who simply aren't capable and power is bad on so many levels (aka fucking psychopaths gaining too much power) but it's also bad when people who don't know what they're doing or care get power.
People, I implore you...the secret to happiness and fulfillment in life is finding what makes you happy and what you're passionate about and good at and gripping it until you die.
Most people don't find it....but DON'T stop looking! It took me until my 30's to figure it out. My best friend in her 20's took her life because she couldn't find purpose...don't just be an asshat, incompetent manager in an industry you don't know a fuck about. Love what you do and help others excel.
This is how I get when I'm drunk, sorry. You guys will learn, lol.2 -
FUCK YOU SYNOLOGY
Fuck you for breaking all my custom shit.
Fuck you for wiping almost everything (but leaving random stuff) every major update.
Fuck you for switching from upstart to systemd 219 (RELEASED MARCH 2015!).
Fuck you for using an outdated kernel.
Fuck you for having the weirdest shittiest preconfigured settings.
Fuck you for using your own custom package format.
Fuck you for being so utterly broken.
Fuck you for making me work 10 hours just to get everything back up and running the way it was.
Fuck you from the bottom of my heart3 -
I needed to log in on a website in someone else's pc and didn't know the password by heart. I thought I'd log into chrome, if I log out later, what could go wrong right?
Apparently, a lot. It facking merged my bookmarks, history and passwords with hers! And she had shitloads of them! It took me facking hours to clean up the mess chrome created. I trust her, but I still didn't want her to have my passwords etc.
Omg I'm never logging into chrome again elsewhere, what a frustrating facking waste of time10 -
I would like to proclaim my utmost love and respect to a programming language and one of its framework.
This language/framework combo was so beautiful that during development I had fantasies about it coming to life as the women I want to marry. I genuinely felt love in my heart to her. I even felt butterflies in my stomach thinking about her!
But I'm worried I might jinx it. So I'm not gonna name it.
I love you.8 -
TAP - The Art Project.
Started in my college, been working on it for nearly a decade now and during the pandemic I was able to find co-founders and we built an amazing MVP.
But now I got busy with my new job, which is super fun, tech guy got married lol and design guy is little lost.
But over the years, experimenting with people, ideas, and everything around, my idea evolved into something which is loved by everyone I shared it and I can see a huge potential in it.
But meh! Fuck it. Because I am too bored and would rather order a practice pad and start learning to play drums (my childhood dreams), attend more gigs, and live a happier life.
Because the heart wants what the heart wants :)
For the curious ones, you can test the MVP at https://www.tap.prismo.net
And there are few other side projects that I completed which can be found on my portfolio page
https://www.floydimus.prismo.net
I am just wondering shall I redirect my main URL to my portfolio page or keep it pointed to TAP?7 -

Hmm.. I kinda want to add a terminal type feature to my portfolio project that let's you type commands to navigate the site or change some options. I could still keep the standard navigation elements for the people who get mini heart attacks when they even see a terminal xD -
I know by heart that "premature optimization is the root of all evil" but not when I'm coding, no! I premature optimize the shit out of my code until I get crippled down and then I undo everything and make a working version no matter how terrible it is.6

It's was the forth year of my college, in the corner of the world in south India, I wanted to something to combine both medicine and the coding that I learnt, I started learning about heart murmurs, it's basically a skill based diagnosis that only 1 in 20 heart specialists can make by hearing the heart beat and listening to a small murmur that happens during the systolic cycle or the diastolic cycle. I wrote a program to learn a lot of sample murmurs and try to find (very bad hand made logic) the similarities between two wave patterns, the problem started with noise so I went out and built a new stethoscope with a carbon mic inside a normal stethoscope head and try filtering the sound at source (worked well enough at that time) I then tried to find people to test it on, but alas I was not able to find patients as doctors are not supposed to reveal them etc. I wanted to show them visually how a murmur pattern would look like and I stole some code and made a plotter for the wav file and presented everything. By that time I got a lot of close amazing friends involved and they helped me solidify the project and we won the best project award and I got my first gold medal of my life at the end of my academic life :) it was one of the best moments of my life. Second only to the joy of getting married to wife. May be third if I put getting a job in Microsoft India Development Center.
I still wish I could dig that code up and write it properly with what I have learnt today but work is never ending and I find great problems to solve everyday which I know I can make a difference, may be when I get retired I will dust out that CD with the decades old c++ code and write one last program...3 -

Sometimes just I hate school.
While my gf had to take 2 "Leistungskurse" ("advanced courses"), I have to take 3.
Also, our little-country-side school doesn't offer IT-class as a Leistungskurs. So besides Math, I need 2 extra courses I am super-not interested in. I chose English since it's okay (but I'm not really good either) and ( ._.) chemistry. I had a good teacher in 10th grade but now I have this teacher who
- uses 1980 material
- explains not/bad most times
- is childish as fuck (we are 17-18 y/o)
- expects too much (we need to learn everything by heart)
- throws ugly, unorganized prints at us w/o context & explaination
and I could name more. My A-levels are going to be so fucking bad. Tuesday is my chemistry exam. Kill me, please......4 -
Doing the deployment to production, and towards the end one of the support guys looks over at me;
"So, the website in prod is throwing some errors"
Followed by another guy:
"Yeah I'm getting the same, SQL exceptions on the page"
I stare at them panicked for a moment, when one of them goes "just kidding!". Like dude, my heart just skipped several beats!
Any one here ever had something cruel happen to them during a deployment?3 -
I would like to thank everyone for their interest in my last two rants (that two with my CVs).

Top do-over... I was extraordinary in biology and microbiology. For some reason, I still remember every little detail, everything that I was learning regarding it felt so natural and easy for me. My heart was pulling me to IT, in the end, I become an average, okayish IT guy, with reasonable programming, networking, and other IT skills, but I had to suffer the hell out of studying to reach here. I never was in love with biology, but damn, it frustrates the heck out of me that I'm so freaking good at it... So, my do-over would be to go all-in with Biology.4

35y/o and a child (well, 2 soon), experienced as an integration dev (not my dream job tho), scripted a lot as a devops engineer (bash, py).
My heart says "jump deeper into devops and/or py", but my imposter syndrome infested brain says it might be too late and that after 10 years in IT it's time to navigate more into management/architect role (mostly because I've seen a lot of people around me follow this path).
Thoughts?7 -

Before getting my dev job, I taught myself some java and made a program to assist myself in the position I was working. It was borderline a keyloger, but it helped me with a lot of repetive tasks. Long story short, our security didn't dig that I installed something they didn't approve (I probably could have just not made it an exe and gotten away with it but my boss wanted it as an exe to run on other computers) they didn't know exactly what it was. I totally understood the security concerns though but they sure gave me a fucking heart attack right before my interview for my first dev job! Was seriously worried I was going to be fired and miss my big chance to make it in with out a degree.2

Personally, I'm looking for a job where I can put my heart into and which has got a meaning for me (haven't found it yet and I don't expect to do in a short time) because everything else makes no sense to me. -
Bruh, my heart is pounding. Almost lost the branch I've been working on for weeks to a force push10
-
Seeing my project when i search for a thing on the first page of the results always warms my heart4

I managed to remember some old Bitwarden (password manager service, I remember that linuxxx recommended me this one a looong time ago) credentials, so I logged in. I found an old devRant account - not my first though (I deleted it).
I've been a random lurker all this time (this is the first dev community I've been and I'm not planning to leave it until it dies), and it's good to login just to give my 2 cents.
I love you all. Seriously. I love you all with every single bit of my heart (get it?), impartially. Thanks for existing.
Here's an interrupted "caramelCase posted a new rant!"; it's actually longer but a wild guy ++'d my comment.
p.s: seeing my avatar, I don't use c++ anymore. I've just grew with Python haha12 -
Revenge of the developer.
After our project consultants aren't good at planning projects I started my revenge. They will get soon a heart attack or paranoia...
Every time I need something from them (cause they missed it in the specs) and see them at the end of the floor. I stealth in their room and stand behind their door. When they are sitting, the door is closing mystically and I step to them. The faces are hilarious. That's my way to teach them to write better Specs :) -
I have more of those with personal life affecting job. I am currently going through one of those when my emotional attachments stop my brain from functioning (those damn hormones! 👊) and I am literally too old to be played with via feelings, but here I am. 🙄 Owner of a stupid fucking heart.3

Thank you Ubuntu for proving once again to be a usless piece of shit. Isn't the fucking console supposed one of your strengths? Once again, from the deepest of my heart, FUCK YOU UBUNTU29

Every passing day in this country drives me crazier.
Someday, maybe soon, I'll go insane.
I feel claustrophobic and suffocated. My interests are changing even if I don't desire to. Feels like a forced changed, as the new ones don't necessarily make me happy, and rather remould me to fit into a toxic environment/society.
While I was raised in this environment, most of my opinions formed via internet which had a heavy influence from the west. When I got to my sense, almost at the age of 24, was the time when I started forming opinions. Internet was my only pal. Family/friends never bothered about me. And now when I dream of and work hard towards moving out, the same family/friends guilt me into not doing so. Maybe they care now, maybe they are jealous, maybe something else.
Even if I settle down here, convincing myself that I desire such a life and counting the benefits of doing so, it won't make me happy.
The heart wants, what the heart wants.4 -
Just wanna admit something (which I don't do often)....
Am I the only one who makes almost every day at least 5 typo's? It drives me crazy 😭 Sometimes I just think.. WHY?! WHY DO I ALWAYS MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE?!
But yeahh.. That's off my heart now.. Thanks 😁9 -
As software devs we likely know about xkcd comics.
Some are just funny, but some have deep meaning or idea buried inside.
What xkcd comic influenced you the most?
For me it has to be https://xkcd.com/150/
It feels like a spin on the idea to "create your own path", but for some reason I took it very deeply to my heart.5 -
My mom came home crying
I thought she watched a sad dog movie again in the cinema
She said she came back from the doctor
Immediately i felt extreme distress, cause my mom never cries from doctors unless it is something extremely serious such as cancer (she had cancer surgeries about 3 times over 15 years)
I asked what is it
She said she has to do... a heart surgery....
why..... what kind of life is this7 -
This has been said before, but i'm gonna be honest with you here, straight from the bottom of my heart
Fuck the new chrome design is fucking repulsive, when did material == rounded corners.
This design reminds me more of what facebook is trying to do with their grotesque messenger.5 -
I'm always helping out a girl in my class with her coding assignments but her code is absolutely atrocious. I don't have the heart to tell her that her whole method, file and variable naming, and process is wrong and is causing her so many headaches.11

> new job, receive new pc
> everything looks cool, but they didn't go with Windows's setup
> it pops up now
> whatever, let's make windows happy
> No I don't want Edge
> No I don't want Office
> No I don't want OneDrive
> Windows move everything inside onedrive folder anyway
> have a heart attack when all of my fucking codebase disappeared
Luckily it was just moved (didn't know where, though), but wtf Windows, if I wanted to deal with these antics I'd buy Apple. I'm sticking with Windows precisely to avoid these strange unmotivamed fuckeries, why are you doing this to me12 -
I feel very terrible. Attending meetings, not able to say anything, I get anxious, my face gets red and heart starts to race. I was never able to get through this situation. This is a big thing, if I set up a meeting to discuss, due to the anxiety I am not able to question anything. I could make a difference that every now and then I ask something basic but due to anxiety I couldn't understand the answer and end up saying yes to thess things although I couldn't understand.
I tried preparing for the meetings but that doesn't work as generally something comes up that I didn't expect and I get so nervous.7 -
How is it called when I rant about something my colleagues experienced and I just supported his debug session? Third party rant? Anyway, here's the thing.
Other team built some project specific code right in the heart of their software, which in itself would be worth a rant. But as you might guess, it's getting rantier.
For a new project the same code is used, but needed some tweaks. Now guess what happened:
1) Someone took the code, refactored it, made project specific stuff configurable, everything works fine now
2) Someone changed the code completely for the new project, everything seems to work fine for 5 months, then the old project needed a new release 💣 -
Budgie isn't my best match, but I'm not gonna go back to deepin either. It broke my heart and now I'm done so it can choke on my non-existant dick. *inset darth vader joke*
Can someone pleeeeeeeaaaaaase make some DE that looks pleasant (take lessons from kde/deepin/budgie/mac/whatever) and runs on arch? Please please pretty please?14 -
Oh man, stands out first in my memory. Was going ok until my original boss got transferred in to another department... The first replacement was one of our HR managers 🤔
The person she then made as similar to a team lead had issues with me when I had just a bit of a different perspective about a problem to solve - I soon found myself in technical support. Go figure...
I'll never forget what one of the directors said to me a little while after they shifted me:
"Not everyone can do what they want to do if they are not good at it..." I look back on that heart breaking moment and say with pride: FUCK, YOU.3 -
For the longest time I've had trouble trying to get my background images full screen viewed and responsive for some components while learning angular 2. Then some one typed this in the CSS
Min-height: 100vh; for height
It felt like I had a heart attack and spontaneous orgasim at the same time.2 -
My plan was to potato today.
... But given anxiety, might as well have a minor heart attack and a few panic attacks on the side.
Plus, second day of no proper food seems to be helping that cause greatly too.
At this rate, I'll die of dehydration first. Lol. My greatest regret is missing out on the robot's uprising. Ain't got nobody I love deeply, so at least I don't feel regrets for people I leave behind. Tiz a short meh life I've lived.
Aight. Ms NoRegrets is out.
P.S.
In case you're stupid, let me clarify: I was being a drama queen. Shall fetch water... soon, hopefully.1 -
Learnt a lesson today:
Never try out new hotkeys in a SQL query editor window.
Or if you do, at least make sure it's not connected to anything important :)
I was trying out new hotkeys and accidentally executed a SQL deploy script to rename something in multiple stored procedures in a large system.
Thankfully - so I saw after my heart stopped - it was only our QA db so not too bad, just a couple of devs set back.
Who woulda thought ctrl-l would execute :O -
Back to Excel for control project, sih 😢, just because my non tech boss can't work with JIRA and it confused him. Do you guys know any idiot friendly control project before I having a heart attack?2
-
That's pretty awesome -_- angular decides to simply discontinue older (half a year) versions of their cli tool by overwriting the older releases with an update notice. Causing my project (jsRant) to break until I update to the newest version.
This new version requires a different configuration so I have to update my entire project just to be able to deploy to production again....
A comment from the heart: f*** you angular.3 -
Can't stop gaming. I mean if
I put my heart to it I can learn anything I want within a few months but just can't resist the urge to boot up Witcher 3 every night.2 -
My heart is always heavy when I have to add couple if statements with if statements inside of that if statement. Mans gotta do what mans gotta do1
-
Never ask a friend or a close acquaintance to do something like a design. It's really hard to tell your honest thoughts about how shit actually looks and you end up settling for a lower quality resource than you could have acquired. I now understand that keeping things strictly professional is vital for a business's well being. Especially if you are dealing with people under you. And now I understand how hard it is to keep up a business face. My heart goes to all the working class. 😂

Does anyone else here feel that TailwindCSS is ugly?
Like, I cant pinpoint it, but no matter who uses it and how, even their homepage, it lacks "something"
It doesnt make my heart flutter ya know, the way MDL2 or Fluent Design or even Google's Material3 can to some extend where I want to make something out of it
tailwind feels like licking wet paper11 -
This happened when I was in the first semester of my study (I'm currently studying Computer Science).
Didn't understand anything, never learned to code before. My first "project" from my lecturer was to write a mini-journal together with two friends of mine (which weren't able to code either) about the link of VR use with the increase/decrease of the user's heart rate.
We didn't find any way to record the user's heart rate automatically and periodically. The deadline was getting closer but thankfully we found an android app that can be used to detect someone's heart rate with the user's finger pressed onto the camera. Sadly the app can't be used to record the data periodically (it can only show us the average heart rate). We told my lecturer (who is supossed to "guide" us here) about the problem and asked him for solutions.
He told us to "modify the .apk and connect it to a database".
At this point, we didn't even know how to make a database, let alone "modify the .apk".
In the end, we used an oximeter, recorded it, and listed the results manually. 😂2 -
So... IT was fucking horrific. Just the sight of red and white makes my heart race. (It was a great movie though; if you're into horror I highly recommend watching it)
However, I'm afraid to go to sleep tonight so I'll probably just stay up all night coding and studying for my CSIII exam on Monday.
SERIOUS QUESTION: as developers, do you ever use base conversions or boolean algebra? I'm trying to figure out how what we're learning will actually apply to the real world.4 -
As a junior dev, you are stuck on a Problem and somehow you are not able to proceed and there is a ridiculous process to finish the task on a deadline otherwise you have to hear from higher management. Your manager cum senior dev is not helping you out or not responding in any way. Do I kill myself being so incompetent dev or burn my ears listening to management complaints or is there any way I can get out of it? My life is just miserable and I feel demotivated day by day.
Just ranting my heart out...5 -
How to meditate, Kiki way:
1. Lay completely motionless
2. For every thought your brain generates, ask “Where did it come from?”
It’s difficult first time, but then you get used to it.
For me, anxiety manifests as itchiness and pressure in the heart area. But when I think in this specific way, anxiety shuts up, and my heart feels… actively good? Not a heart orgasm or something, just the feeling you get when you take off your bra after a long day, but condensed in one area.
Thinking this way is like reading a history book. History doesn’t tolerate what-ifs, and thus, the opinion of your anxious part — a so-called internal critic — becomes irrelevant. At least, I think it’s how it works, I’m not a therapist or something.
Everything I analyze traces back to my mother. I mean EVERYTHING. What a manipulative bitch indeed. You probably missed that, here it is: https://devrant.com/rants/9940652/...
Meditation became a bad word recently. It’s something you hear from self-help gurus and other scum alike. Despite that, here is the simple way to meditate that works. Use it!67 -
The mini heart attack when I touched my external hdd and didn't feel any vibrations as usual and then couldn't ssh into the pi it was connected to. I was ready for the worst, but a restart solved it4

So was working on an android app with Geo Fenceing capabilities ie. Reminding stuff based on users location... But no matter what it was not getting triggered even though I was standing at the heart of that location!!
Scratched my head for about a week over it and then gave up.
After a month, today I found myself at that same place with GPS turned on and that little shit triggers and 'bing' I get the reminder I was looking for...!!
My reaction >> What the heck was up with you a month ago...?1 -

My emacs journey day 0-1
0: quickly realised what I was getting myself into, wow that is a learning curve. Head is buzzing with different key commands (and thank you to everyone who's helped out in my original post). I've been here before with Vim, but it's so hard when I am proficient with another editor, one of the most difficult aspects is getting it set up to even format my code appropriately (the right tab width etc), but I press on, something tells me it will be worth it in the end.
1: I come across a tutorial for clojure and emacs (https://braveclojure.com/basic-emac...), this looks good, oh sweet it shows how to load a good configuration, some more useful commands, feels like I'm getting there. Then it hits me, I manage to put my finger on why I decided to take the plunge: emacs isn't an editor at heart, at its heart is lisp. From its core it is scripted using one of the most powerful types of languages. Rather than some bolted on domain specific scripting language.
Now the real learning begins.2 -
Depression is not a passive sorrow and lack of energy. My depression, being bipolar type I, is active, furious, burning pain within. My heart is pounding, and it hurts. The strong, blunt guilt for nothing I did in particular, and then the anxiety that is all around and over my view, reminiscent of how mould grows on a slice of bread.
It never stops. -
Best:
Whenever I start a new project, I try to learn atleast one new thing. The best dev experience I had was my first project in HTML and CSS.
I treasure this project because I didnt learn just one or two things, I learnt a huge chunk of what I know today.
It taught me how to approach problems, find solutions and introduced me to stackoverflow.
It will always have a special place in my heart <31 -
It's been 3 days since I started my dev job and it's been pretty stressful. I could have posted at least 3, maybe 4 rants each day. Mainly about trivial bullshit that I let get to me.
Lets just say it came to a head today and that's when one of my bosses, who doesn't even really need to know who I am, decided to help me out. No reason why, just being kind.
I get home to find my other half had been making my lunch for me for tomorrow and had made dinner for me as a surprise. Didn't ask her to do it, she just did it out of the kindness of her heart.
It just made me realise that I'm actually surrounded by great people who I value a lot and appreciate more and more each day. -
So as i was exporting the apk file from unity, unity crashed and it caused a BSOD
I had a fucking heart attack because i coding from 16 hours straight
But my shit is still there
I finally understand why do many people use a MacBook pro for work5 -
I finally did it. I installed Arch linux + Unity 3D + VSCode + budgie + vertex + sddm-deepin in virtualbox....
What a fucking journey and a half that was.
Now to install on an ssd for real...
My thoughts on the process:
1.) This is not for the faint of heart.
2.) Be preapred to devote some time getting it all right.
3. This was actually quite a rewarding process.1 -
I've worked with a couple of languages but python won my heart at the end
Been using it for 5 years now
But I feel I need to revisit java and c#
But my python conscience whispers:
"Yu want to dump me now... of all the things we've done together"4 -
Sooo after returning from my 3 weeks of vacation (student part-timer so no real obligations) I learned that the last two months of work refactoring our legacy app to conform to modern Android app standards, is being shut down because we begin to rewrite everything for cross platform...
Not sure how I feel about it, because I really liked Android development and I poured my heart in it... On the bright side: I'll get to learn more Javascript, HTML, css and polymer stuff which I guess is good.
It still stings a little 😥5 -
I think our network was having a heart attack today. Had to jump in on a webinar after most people had gone home and ended up tethering to my phone to get a decent connection. Hopefully our network guys see the ticket and can fix things quickly.1
-
There are tools i use more often, but a place in my heart is reserved for ILSpy.
It shows IL code as c# code and it helped me so much at understanding how components work.
Best moment was when a support guy from a company told me stuff that wasn't correct according to the code...
...no need to tell him. Hope it stays unencrypted :-D -
Fuck... Am getting my laptop's battery changed and this feels like someone's doing a heart transplant of my precious.
What if the new battery isn't compatible, what if the guy turns out to be a thug and takes away my laptop parts ,what if what if what if.... Damn kill me now10 -
I hate Linux from the bottom of my heart.
Argh...
I have a SLR camera. After a few shooting sessions I inserted my SD card into my Arch Linux machine. For some mysterious reason it wouldn't ever umount, saying target was busy (nothing opened on it btw). So I just removed my SD card and, alas: all of my photos are gone.
Anyone knows how to fix it?9 -
If I wanted good feedback for my products (especially if they were geared towards developers) I would scrap devRant and do some data analysis on how our products are perceived in raw form. Would be very raw and informative insight indeed because you are at the heart of raging innovation (raging innovation: when a developer is so pissed at a flaw in a piece of software they highlight or fabricate an ingenious feature or solution) and will help not only iron the kinks out but make a better product all together. Also, of course the good aspects would be lauded.
-
I want to code, but I have to prepare for my GRE, but I can't, coz I want to code, which I can't either, coz I'm worried about my GRE. As I open my books, my heart craves to see IDE. I'm fucked up, literally.4

Django was the first then meteor js snap my heart, a few years of love and hate relationship I finally realized phoenix was the one all a long even though I kept thinking about meteor js from time to time <34

So in the past 3 days I've almost had 6 heart attacks, I've been giving public speeches for random classes at my school as a practise.
Today I'm going to some capital city finals shit whatever you call it and I have to give a public speech to fuc knows how many people.
I wrote a speech about lies in 700 words, speech has to be 5 minutes, oh yeah, in English. It's not my native...
Man, I am not ok at all Xd, they had to choose the one who has anxiety dosorders.2 -
Mid Semester exam tomorrow
We have three Mid Semester exam every semester, in each subject ( and they call it 'Mid' 😑😑😑 ), and I had already skipped first two mid-semester exam of every subject.
Heart saying - "keep coding"
Brain shouting - "Fuck that piece of shit exam"
So, Coding right now, writing codes for my own project .......
And, I had already Skipped all mid-sem exams in the last semester, and then two end-sem ( final ) exam too, and then skipped all mid-sem exam this Semester too15 -
It’s 2am. This is what I think about: a baby head but it’s a cheaply made plastic toy toilet that is somehow narrow like a pez dispenser, I put some green plastic stuff in its “mouth” and close it and I’m like oh no why I did this he’s gonna swallow it and there’s kanye in the background screaming grand theft auto grand theft auto we’re in a game we’re in a game
I’m scared. I can’t sleep. My heart goes like 180bpm for no reason7 -
To my review of 2021 ... a good lesson was learned.
I was doing so much for my company.. late night workings.. team handling.. client handline.. to name a few.. But in december they broke my heart.. Altough after little negotiation I was able to get a good package but somehow I Realized this is the time to switch.
But am at good position in my current company so I just cant go away for few pennies. I have to check for company's culture.. my tech stack.. etc too..
But I am determined to get a good job and packge with Challeging tech stack in 2022.
Hope this 2022 Bring brighter future to all of you .. Happy New year -
My heart has skipped a beat..
I like to do front end in Angular, and Im learning asp.net core, so this is great for me.2 -
Covid rant
I had my last day at previous job in mid Jan, and 1st day at new job, thousands of km accross the country, in another city, in Feb.
I had great difficulty in finding an apartment that's decent and close to my office. Finally got one with a hefty rent for 1BHK, hefty brokerage and a hefty sum as security deposit; in March. Within a week, I spent shit load of money buying things, like a new fridge, washing machine, chair, table etc...
Didn't live there for 7 days, as soon as the lockdown started.
Every month my heart shatters paying the rent :(
17.5k INR :(5 -
ever since i started working from home i am now able to sing my heart out while coding and argue with myself... my mom walks by me answering my questions "why isnt this working?" and she's like "why are you asking me i dont know" 😬 ok mom1
-
my next challenge is now building a personal portfolio page :)
I'll create a one pager.
I'm just excited cause its a lil bit harder than building an easy tribute page. My heart will go on xD2 -
Thank god my 1 day works got saved, I made new folders and transfered few files in those folders,
And then when I got done I deleted it from the side bar view in sublime text. Later on I saw one of new folder and nothinf was there my heart went down, then I thought.
Wait I right clicked it and deleted it. Then quickly rushing my clicks towards recycle bin.
and my breath came back it was there :D -
I made mention last week to a game I am learning to make in support of Congenital Heart Defect awareness. Idk who all wants to keep up with my personal development stuff while I learn the process but here is my discord link.

To whoever broke Chrome 79's DevTools hover on variables: you broke my heart

I was called on a review meeting on why the task took so much time and why my performance is going down.
I clearly stated that I was not managed well and I had lot of dependencies in presence of my reporting manager. She didn't look happy. Now I'm kind of worried that she could act weirdly as women are also emotional beings taking everything to the heart.4 -
A: oh hey my commit is not in the master branch...
A: *seeing bunch of commit deleted activity in bitbucket by B
A: Lol B deleted commits in master branch
B: Wait, what?! I know I have rebased my branch.. but never have I rebased anything in the master branch.. how can this be *intense breathing
B: Are you sure you have pushed yours to master?
A: Sure I've rebased, squashed, and rbt landed my work to master, here look my local master has my commit
CTO: wait what? Is this related to this bug we have in production just now? Please don't panic, let us resolve it
Turns out rbt land just squash your commit to your local master branch and they thus A have not pushed it to the remote. And the bunch of commit deleted activity were bitbucket not informing from which branch the activity was happening. Almost gave us heart attack. -
A demon process is running inside me,
whenever I hear your name it's triggers an interrupt to brain,
Causing my brain to stop working and perform a context switching to think about you...
My memories are encrypted by your memories as like wanna cry...
And it demands to always think about you as a ransom...
I tried songs as a patch, But
I found that you memory encryption can't be fixed with any patches...
My heart is not strong as Linux ,
It's so week like Microsoft...
So please don't inject more bugs as my system can't sustain that...
I hope you will also get some disturbance like segmentation fault as you are trying to access my memories.. -
Someone from QA just randomly started asking me about API requests and responses today. For our backend which is not actually an API and changes all the time without notice. They just like, casually wanna know the contract of every endpoint on that.
So after having a heart attack thinking my coworker got spear phished I find out QA has decided to start testing our backend without telling us let alone asking us if it's a good idea.2 -
I need to finish something presentable by May so I decided to make Orchid an untyped language, and the simplicity of all tasks all of a sudden breaks my heart. Static analysis is my guiding principle, the one feature which I always held to be good. Deprioritizing it in _my own programming language_ feels like sacrilege.9

Self learned. I was introduced to programming quite early courtesy my dad who pushed me to use Linux. At first I learned basics, enough to tinker with stuff. Then I met python. It changed my world. Now I know C, C++, JS, PHP, Obj-C fluent enough and am working on others. But python will always have a sweet spot in my heart. Also, I think python 3 is a good improvement over 2. Not perfect. But good enough and it still has a future.
Working on SQL and Java -
Heart in pain.....
Now my eyes are dry with no tears to cry.
Brain is flashing the same thing again and again and again........5 -
so my mom said that if i try to live away from her, she will not be able to live life normally. if she gets even a false news about me or related to me, she will have a heart attack/ commit suicide.
hello new world. I am just a visitor to you and your opportunities of happiness, i will be going away to my mom's lap after this to remain sad, useless poor and unhappy10 -
I just got a nice 240GB SSD and I'm puzzled by a thing: should I dual boot it with Windows 7 and Linux Arch?
I'm only keeping the windows for the games that "obsesses" me (was thinking of having a small 60GB partition for Windows, since I can barely play any games on my Sony Vaio) and I'm spending the rest of my time programming. But also I would have time for more things if I give up gaming on Windows (like reading, jogging)... I do not know what you do... My heart says Arch only but my mind says Windows also... what would you do? -
Many years ago, after a busy day and some stress eating, I built a button in my dream, and, almost as if I was triggering the reflux function, I clicked to test it, I shot straight up in my sleep from heart burn.1

Hey DevRant Fam <3
Hope everyone is doing very well as always!, i want to say sorry for my recent lack of activity in our community, i absolutely do miss communicating with everyone here as always dearly! there has just been too much going on within my life recently and i personally just needed a good break from everything , though to be honest more work was done than what i call my 'break', but guys not too much to say, about a week ago i turned 23 and things are finally starting to get a little better for me :-).
i'm also nearing the end of my degree in IT which this sem I've actually been working on a project for my first ever client with two other team mates, though i honestly feel that two of us are mainly carrying the team and the workload of course, but even so i must say i love learning all the time and its a real honor to do something i love and of course do with all of my heart :D.
as always everyone once again from the bottom of my heart i hope everyone is doing very well, and wish the best for you guys !

Hey all. So I'm a bit of an aspiring developer/engineer. I am in highschool right now and am getting to the point where I should start looking at colleges. Ive wanted to do something computer related and for a while now ive had my heart set on some sort of security engineer/tech/researcher what have you. But it has been pointed out to me that computer sciences often require several high level math courses namely Calc. Problem being I'm pretty bad at Calc and haven't been able to do too well.
I'm not too sure what I should do. I'm struggling with my highschool calc classes and and fear that college level course will just go over my head. Ive never had issues with math before until I got to Calc. Ive got some of the basics of cryptography such as hashes and cryptographic alorithms but thats about it. Do computer science degrees really rely that heavily on Calc?7 -
Captains Log:
It's been over a year,
I don't know if we will ever see it and the hope in my heart grows weak with each sunset,
the crew is restless, they thirst for it and I don't know if I can contain them anymore.
Oh Lord(@dfox) help us find the next episode of Devrant Podcast1 -
!dev
feeling so low about my life right now. i feel like a lifeless blob who doesn't deserve to be happy.
- my previous !dev (sorry dfox, i am a dev but still use this place to rant !dev things most of the time) rant tell the story of my heart right now, which got ripped to shreds once my one side love got off my car that day.
- i kinda wanna meet my homie gang, they are the group of guys to whom i go when my life is going bad and wanna escape reality. coz they sure don't have any solutions, but they have stupid talks to keep me entertained (and food/drinks fill up the sorrowful heart).
however am not sad at my reality. In fact, am trying to indulge myself more into office work, freelancing and private classes. plus they are kinda selfish and ignorant of my actual problems.
I just wish i could feel loved and respected once more.
--------
unrelated, but birthdays are such an interesting thing. people wish you on their own, try to talk to you with more than 1 word responses, some even call you or meet you personally. everything feels special.
this doesn't happen on usual days. i had my birthday last month. by the end of my birthday, i was in love with one girl, planning a meetup with 3 , and planning a trip with 2 different groups of friends. i also was thinking of taking extra leaves and pre planning my arguments with my family as i was going to go on lots of place on upcoming weekends. super extrovert-ish
cut to today. i kinda did most of these and today am at a stage where i got nothing planned for a sunday but don't feel like meeting known humans as a recreational activity.1 -
I learned the ancient art of internal screaming and imagining the annoying people dying one by one at my feet.
this is the only way that I don't die of a heart attack some days. -
I'm more pissed than I've been in awhile. With classes coming back soon and having to catch up to my classmates in college and as a developer, have to work part-time to pay off debt. Now I just found out that I have high cholesterol at EIGHTEEN and need to exercise regularly. All this putting off has now crashed down on me and I have no idea how I'm going to do this all at once. For the sake of my future (and my heart), how the heck am I gonna do all this?2

!Rant
So I started programming with ROR, because I was bored and wanted something to do. A couple months later a decent grasp of the basics, I've recently been thinking about switching over to JavaScript because I feel like the community is bigger and there are a lot more resources out there for things such as mobile development and server side support. As much as I love Ruby's elegancy and ease of use, my heart lies with Mobile when it comes to software development (games will always take precedence though!) And I feel like JavaScript would be more the way to go in terms of a more "full stack" experience. What do you guys think? Should I stick with Ruby or should I set my sights slightly higher? Oh the questions us beginner devs have hahah1 -
Background: Got a macbook, A external HDD(2TB) of which +- 1TB was used.
Yesterday i moved all my personal projects from my work laptop to my external, to move to my macbook.
One of my clients(Freelancing) calls asking me to install new hardware, install software and fix OS(Windows 8.1).
I leave work and go directly to said client and he hands over his Lenovo S20 Touch(No CD/DVD Drive).
I install windows 10 and other software from my flash(Already on there)
Good, Everything is ready to go. I go home and finally get to sit down with my baby(MacBook)
Me: *Plugs in external*
...
nothing.
Opens Finder, can't find flashdrive
Check MacKeeper
MacKeeper: VirusDetected
Me: *Pissed*
Client calls.
Client: Hey is everything ok with the laptop, no viruses no nothing. Because everytime i insert a flashdrive it gets a virus and i have to buy a new one.
Me: I installed windows 10 on it, it should be fine with defender now.
Heart: *shattered* YOU COULD'VE TOLD ME THAT BEFORE FUCKER!!
i never knew people like this still exist1 -

My heart broke a little when I realize there's no hoodie I can choose from the profile customization. A plain shirt isn't very effective against the blasted aircon. -
I am not a very experienced developer, so naturally I don't know many fundamental things. My thinking around a lot of the necessary things is that the answer should come to me according to the need. So an oversimplified example could be, say I'm solving a Dynamic programming problem, I should not need to know the algorithm beforehand I can maybe invent it. This thinking stops me learning a lot things because I feel like then when I learn a pattern I will restrict my thought process within the knowledge I have and not think beyond it. I feel like that I am doing the dumb mistake of learning things bt heart and not understanding.
Does anyone felt the same? What your experience says about this?12 -
Which encryption library do you people use with c/c++? I'm trying to use openssl but well there is more documentation about how to replace my own heart in the dark than on that. Also most of the structs have missing declarations hell yeah its nice to have a EVP_PKEY but what's that? Oh I know it's a evp_pkey_t and what's that? Nothing apparently. Comments? You kidding??? A proper library doesn't have them...3

I recently moved to a house where my gf and me each have our separate office space. However, i’m sitting with my back to the door so whenever i’m in the zone with noise cancelling on and my gf walks in i don’t hear her. Resulting in me having a couple of almost heart attacks lately.
I have ideas about mirrors or sensors but since i’m working of three screens i din’t think it will do. The second option is ofcourse to move the desk to the other side of the room so that i’m facing the door more. But there are no power plugs.
My gf basically locks her door by sitting in front of it. Also she doesnt have a noise cancelling head set.6 -
Checking my work email, found three meeting invitation emails, got a mini heart attack, then noticed the other two are just rescheduling...
Not a nice way to start a Monday with meetings invitation 😅 -
As a new Monday arrives and another work week rears its ugly head, I'd like to impart some encouraging words for once:
Some of you might be working with legacy systems with code that resembles a Jackson Pollock painting.
Some of you have teams of people, both devs and managers, with the tact and intelligence of a lemming.
And almost all of us have something in our professions that we're just not looking forward to.
But take heart, my fellow ranters.
At least you're not stuck doing stuff like this:
https://youtu.be/yPuI4l0jK7s -
Start my code day, no bugs in sight,
Each line I write, like code's delight.
Second function, errors suppressed,
Silent fixes, my skills put to the test.
Third loop, logic numb, yet breaking,
A contradiction in every line I'm making.
Fourth bug, clinging like a leech,
In the grip of coding's caffeine breach.
Fifth syntax, thoughtless actions cascade,
A program's dance, in lines arrayed.
Sixth compile, colleagues say, 'Go home,'
But where's home in this code dome?
'They say home is where the heart is,
But my heart's in a million logic twists,
Which line shall I follow?
The optimized or the broken,
I cannot tell them apart.'
In the last bit of code, I saved my hope,
When debugging was still an option,
So go ahead and save yourself from glitches,
For you are worthy of a million exceptions. -
I had mistakenly added a large file to a commit, and I'm now spending 3 hours of my life just to remove it and being able to push.
I've deleted the file from tracking, but it remained in history so when I try to push, github rejects to continue.
And, still worse, trying various solutions on StackOverflow I've done a mess on the history which now looks unrelated to the remote one, and I think it's a never-end catastrophe.
It's absurd how badly designed is git, and how hard it is to use besides the 3 commands that you learnt by heart16 -
How in heart is possible to work with a router that randomly shutdowns itself around 3/4 times a day without any reason. Leaving me without internet for 10-15 minutes. I called my ISP and they said that they don't see any problem and they will not send any replacement. I can instead fix an appointment with their technician to have a look at the issue, but of couse, I'm paying for him.
How about no? I'm going to buy a proper modem/router next month, this shit router they give you have 1/100 of the proper configurations options you need.2 -
I feel like there are sharp nails in my body. They’re always there, in the heart area. This feeling never goes away.4

i had to throw together a tool to periodically test a friend's network (plus on-demand if needed) as it keeps slowing to a crawl for no reason, i called it "netpoke" and it's retarded and i despise tkinter with all my heart but i needed non-blocking and timers and shit...
i'll prolly never release it as it's mostly heavily-modded copypaste SO garbage but y'know -
I have just started working fresh out of college and don't have much experience in job hunting. But I will share what worked for me when I was in college looking for jobs.
In my opinion these are the top three qualities which we must develop while hunting a dev job.
1. Insane focus : work hard. Learn stuff. Complete lessons, projects. Do not deviate from the end goal, and work towards it.
2. Resilience : Don't lose heart over few bad interviews. Keep on trying with the same zeal.
3. Incorporate feedbacks. Don't be stubborn and arrogant. Look out for learning opportunities from any circumstance.
Best of luck -
Was working on a CRM/CMS type of app until I recently got placed into a data and analytics project. Soon to be machine learning. But web applications will always hold a dear spot in my heart ❤️1

Do you randomly feel intense hatred towards people in your friend circle ?
Well I am
I have tons of friends to hang out and randomly talk about well... random things.
When it comes to more engineering related dev discussions I only have a couple friends.
One I don't speak to since he isn't very passionate about the field other than the money aspect. It's hard discussing with a person who can only see the monetary aspect of things.
Well this other guy was my only companion on this journey.. but he gave up and took on an acting career. Tbh I feel cheated. I don't have a companion / rival / anybody who I can really talk heart to heart when I get a random fun idea.
I understand how acting is on its own a pretty difficult skill but I definitely am feeling intense hatred for this fucker.
No knowledgeable guy puts himself in a situation where he has to decide between acting and electronics/programming .. and I considered this bloody motherfuck my intellectual companion.
This is what it feels like to be lonely despite having so many people around.
I'm going to work on creating a split personality. It's my only option to surviving in an engineering deprived country as mine (India).
The same country where 70% people end up engineers and most of them don't know what an oscilloscope is.1 -
I worked sufficiently more time on r programming. I felt a bit stress and now my heart is beating abit harder even while I'm not coding. what's happening to me?
-
Best: Psalm - found so many issues for me
Worst: WordPress - my heart sinks if I find out I need to work with it1 -
I tried to reach myself Ruby a while ago, but ran into a plethora of issues just trying to get a stable running version of the compiler going. There's like, three different sites claiming to be the official site, which is which?
Does anyone even use Ruby anymore? Is it even worth learning?10 -
my love to trans rights are not more than my love to the Chinese government !I’m love China 🇨🇳 my whole heart 🌟4

Do you have a smart watch with a magnetic band? Do you take it off while using your mac to prevent damage? If so read this one post that may worry you.
I always take off my lg watch with the magnetic band to prevent damage (Null, say something new dammit!). It was sitting on the left side of my mac and normally sits a fair distance away. Well someone needed my help and the watch got too close to my mac (the front left side) and my screen just turned black almost immediately. Wtf happend? It fixed itself almost as soon as I moved it but holy shit did my heart drop.4 -
Hi guys!
Is there anyone working in deployment, operations? So the people who setup build pipelines, these CI/CD things. My question for you guys is: what motivated you to move away from development (or outright start working in operations)? What kind of base knowledge did you possess in order to be successful in this field? Do you regret making the switch to operations?
I'm at the start of my career and I've been doing development for about one and a half years, but my heart is not really in it. I like setting up tools, learning their capabilities, writing scripts to automate things a lot more than figuring out the client's twisted requirements and then scraping together a solution for that. -
"InvalidStateError: An attempt was made to use an object that is not, or is no longer, usable"
I really hate you fucking InvalidStateError, I hate you will all my heart. How can I debug this fucking hell of error? form.setFieldsValue(mydamnvalue) should just work so I can be happy and advance the work on this app, fuck!!4 -
Nodes Reach
I will google my last error message
I cannot tell where this conviction comes from. Whatever birthed it is a mystery to me, and yet the thought clings like a virus, blooming behind my eyes and taking deep root within my mind. It almost feels real enough to spread corruption to the rest of my body, like a true sickness. It will happen soon, within the coming nights of pizza and energy drinks. I will google my last error message, and when my brothers turn on thier computers, my questions will be scattered over stack overflow with one accursed tag
Nodejs.
Even the name twists my blood until burning oil beats through my veins. I feel anger now, hot and heavy, flowing through my heart and filtering into my keyboard like boiling poison. My fingers stretch out. I am strong, born only to code and debug software. I am pure, googling the most obscure of error messages, trained to break down problems and use console.log. I am wrath incarnate, living only to code until finaly my program runs.I am a programmer in the Eternal Crusade to forge humanity's mastership of the code.Yet strength, purity and wrath will not be enough.
I will google my last error message
My Nodejs application won't run.
