Upper management finally caved in to the endless change requests from business and explicitly made the following statement:
"We won't overpromise and under-deliver. With that, we are reducing the committed scope of development work per sprint, but will continue to deliver the same final deliverables by the delivery dates"
So all our compressed project timetables just got uncompressed, and we finally have the breathing room we've been begging for since 2017. Any change requests from business will be (finally) backlogged.
On the other hand, the number of projects have increased to fill out the new extra dev time, but at least we're now less stressed at work. Priorities!1 -
I tried developing an API based on some other ones that would query my school's timetables faster than our app.
It worked.
I'm proud now.4 -
Boss yelled at lead mobile dev for low productivity because the project manager present him wrong timetables and added accidentally one more week of work.
Next day boss yelled at the lead mobile dev cause the back end wasnt working well.
Project manager and lead back end developer enjoy life! Front is hell :P5 -
My biggest obstacle? Stupidity, laziness, willfull ignorance, procrastination.
Sometimes my teammates are the ones guilty of these things too. That, and impossible timetables, but that's par for the course for pretty much all of us.4 -
So, in Germany apprentices at companies need to file a "Berichtsheft".
It's a thing where you have to file, for each day that is, what you did at work or in job college and how long you did it.
Basically every company keeps records of their employees activities in their CRM or other management system and all schools use services for keeping timetables that include lesson duration and activity.
So why the fuck do we apprentices have to write that shit ourselves when we could literally just acces the databases and SELECT THE SHIT FROM FILED_ACTIVITIES, I thought.
So I'm writing scripts to acces our CRM database and a puppeteer script now that scrapes the Untis (online timetable service for schools) timetables to extract everything, group it by date and format it nicely as CSV.
I'm sick of this: Digital system & Digital system = write it yourself bullshit.
Once I'm done I'll make a github repo for the Untis scraper.
Also, I'll be making the tools usable for the other apprentices at my company to spare them the suffering.9 -
Tired of all those timetables, application, motivational quotes ...
Coded my own assistant : Robo1100
Still full of ifs but properly understands what I mean (I don't have s very wild vocabulary )
Can I call it artificial intelligence?
Some of his features:
- determining current tasks according to date and time
- tracks the task and show you how many percent you've done
- plays different musics according to your mood (if you start nagging he'll play motivational rock and so on)
- does simple calculations for you
-gives you simple informations like time , whether,...
- remind you the events of the day
- reads a rsnfom cool quote at startup
- most importantly speaks with s human voice
-...
Any recommendations?7 -
Parsing my college's terrible classless html float left div mosaic timetables so I could hide lectures I wasn't taking.

Found this at a local busstop the other day. It was supposed to display timetables for when busses arrive. Well at least I know why it probably crashed... It's Windows😂😎3
