Yall ever have that boss who was an engineer for so long that he forgot how to work with people but somehow he convinced the bigger boss to let him take a leadership position and now he just uses that position to demand all the shitty changes people wouldn't let him do while he was an engineer because they were shitty changes because he now thinks of himself as dictator-in-chief.
I have that.3 -
Tried to run VirtualBox on my Windows machine and forgot to enable virtualization...FRIED IT!!

I've worked at a small company for about three years now with four years in the field of web-based technologies. I feel like I need someone to talk to about my skillset/professional status so I can know where I stand amongst my peers. Are there any particular people I can talk to about this?2 -
My night: Staying up till 6am Mountain to migrate a site to a new hosting enviornment...

Have to go to the bathroom super bad...
Sit on the toilet...
About to to my thing...
Think about that bug I need to fix in a project that's due today...
Sphincter tightens in response to the stress...
I guess I'll try again after I fix the problem.3 -
Stuck finishing an over budget project tonight because the deadline got pushed forward... Does anybody else out there feel my pain?

Designer: Here's your InDesign file for that webpage that needs to go up today.
Me: InDesign is for print yo. I have to pull all these assets into Photoshop anyway -

I've seen symbols for front-end development, </>, and I've seen symbols for back-end development, {}... but what about full stack development?6
-
I fucking hate it when designers use TypeKit. Like, no, I totally want to do back flips to make the page render beautifully because there is absolutely no responsibility on your part to worry about that...
There's a difference between a Web Designer and a "Web" designer.3 -
FYI Free weekend at CodeSchool! https://codeschool.com/free-weekend...
I don't work there I just like their classes.1 -
I'll know when I've succeeded in establishing my career when I'm able to get a job at Google that allows me to support a household. It just doesn't seem like I have the qualifications yet to find a position that's not an internship. So in the meantime, nose back to the grindstone.
Just needed to put this out there.2 -
You have to start and finish a website in 4 days, but you also have to take care of requests from 60 other clients as well as save a puppy from a burning building.4
-
I never understood how people could choose back-end over front-end or vice versa. To me it's all just pieces of the same pie... and I want the whole damn thing.5
-
Here's to not realizing how much experience you gained over the past couple years until you start reforming your resume and portfolio.

Yes, or no (and if you want to, why): Is a degree required in order to become a game developer?
I have my own opinion, but I want to see what the community thinks.22 -

Somebody on here commented the link and I just had to make sure everyone knows about it.9 -
Java knowledge is in higher demand and used more often in large scale applications... it's also almost as old as I am and I fear it may be phased out sooner that Python.
Python is newer, and--in my not yet professional opinion of them--easier to learn GUI development.
I can find 15,000 pros and cons but I still have NO FUCKING IDEA which to learn. I just want to learn one that can help me solidify some skills in cross-platform software development and make me a little more marketable.4
