Are you wearing a fedora right now?
-
@CrankyOldDev Yeah that's a really good point and not something that can be ignored that if you are constantly working OT / late nights, there is something wrong with your process/planning that should be addressed.
-
Lol not sure if trolling?
-
No, !important is !important. Jk...
-
@deadlyRants oh sorry. For some reason I read this as he already did the internship and is trying to come back fulltime.
-
The very first thing I do is create a repo with a readme. If somr wants to give me shit for code that isnt in master, they can suck it. Once my code is in master then im proclaiming to the world "i am OK with this".
-
If you didnt make any connections that you could reach out to directly during tbe course of your internship... then you fucked up.
-
@Chefren interesting. Well thats new to me. Thanks for the info.
-
This code doesnt even work? They use this in the request fn but the this is bound to the request fn not the object literal that holds the str1 str2 str3 properties... its just going to be undefined a bunch of times.

How long were the sprints? We do 3 weeks sprints averaging about 13 points per dev.

Laravel. There is tons of community material out there for learning
-
Hahahah ive never seen that before... thats grand.
-
A concurrent object pool was the answer to all of my problems. Praise concurrent collections and atomic operations.
-
@ste09 indeed. Its alot of added frustration from not knowing the language well and also working in another teams codebase.
-
Thats gold
-
Sounds like you should gtfo of that place
-
@KalmyK test driven development is A+ :)
-
The best way to ensure quality is with well defined acceptance criteria, a solid QA team, high test coverage, and continuous and automated integration testing + deployments.
-
I think thats a load of fucking shit and your professor can fuck off
-
TDD. A course called "Test Driven Laravel" has taught me how to approach starting new projects better.
-
I hate this. I dont like change.
-
Management's solution will almost always include additional process.
-
Express. Sequelize. Kinex. Sails (barely).
-
Better than sitting down on a toilet that had the seat up... that always hurts.
-
@keekung production infra is not to be used for debugging and hotfixing... its production... code uploaded to prod should always overwrite the existing deployed code. Idk what youve got going on but sounds kinda fucky.
-
If you have no money you are doing something wrong...
-
Ahhh when we dream about code. I once woke in the middle of the night yelling about a rogue promise chain that didnt have a catch attached. GF wasnt overly pleased.
-
I return to work on tuesday... am actually excited to get back to the office.
-
I nested 3 loops once and got reamed out... you should probably be fired at 12+.
-
You probably need to use the vue-loader webpack plugin and maybe even babel if you want to use the es6 import syntax to import components into the scope of other components. You can use plain old require('somefolder/somecomponent.vue') im prettysure without babel though.
Sorry i dont have an example off hand.
