In a church, at a friend's wedding. The mass was on but there weren't many people. It was a long ceremony so I was at the far end sitting on the very last bench along with all the octogenarians. I thought they'd be mad but they didn't give a shit.
However one of them turned around gave me this look of utter disgust, as if I was watching a bukkake compilation.1
I'll tell you what I'm going to do this weekend:
- I'm not going to put a shirt on
- Probably no pants either
- I'm gonna play Warcraft III
- Stuff my face with a giant pizza
- And drink lots of beer7
Finally decide to leave this shit company with a shit pay and an even shittier management. Manager says it's the worst time I chose to make this decision.
To all the shit managers out there, treat your employees like human beings once in a while.8
Annoyed being jizzed on by so many fucking ads on YouTube app?
As the video starts to play, slide the timeline to the end and then hit replay.13
Google....cause why fucking not?
-A completely free mail client
-An amazing video streaming service
-Free cloud storage
-Maps that take you anywhere in the world
-A great internet browser
-A versatile payment system
-A great candidate for AI that could destroy humanity
You get the picture...else you could always Google it.8
Eating at your desk! I mean, Jesus fucking Christ! I'm tired of pretending like I love that stomach churning funk coming out of that thing you call lunch while I'm choking myself to keep up with the deadlines.
I rather spend the rest of the day in a vat full of rotting dead rats.2
I wish I could just unplug myself from this digital world.
I am grateful for having been brought up in a time when the internet/social media was not yet a thing. I had more privacy, less anxiety, had real conversations, played real games, had no FOMO....and I honestly enjoyed the fact that I couldn't always be found so easily, as opposed to how my digital footprints are now being blasted out into space every second.
This life feels like I am in a queue waiting to cash in on all the lifestyle diseases, all the while getting older and staring at a small screen going mad at imaginary people.
I wish I could go back to when things were simpler.14
Is it just me or is the "Sign up with Google" feature not working on some sites with the ad blocker turned on?12
What the hell YouTube???? !!!
I'm getting unsubscribed from channels that I never unsubscribed from! I'm also not getting notified of new videos from most of my favourite channels either.7
A work colleague of mine (I had a crush on) built this website she kept boasting about. I fooled around a bit and found out that she hadn't taken any measures against CSRF. (i.e the server wasn't verifying where exactly all the POST and GET requests were coming from). I did mention this to her but she didn't bat an eye.
Assuming she was already logged in to her website, I built a fake login page and got her to type her credentials in it. Since her login session was already active, I got access, we laughed it off and I ended up 'phishing' for a date. Went out on a few more until she moved to another city and it kinda died out.1
Young Indian men (myself included) are a bunch of beta cucks who can't talk against religious bullying. Blaring deafening music during the hours that I somehow barely manage to get some shut eye, has been catching up unfettered.
I don't care what your freaking religion is! You don't get to set my morning alarms!!!
It's not like everyone loves listening to this. I mean I'm sure there is at least a small group of people who are losing their fucking minds over this but can't speak out for the fear of being lynched by a mob of retards.
I seriously hope there was something we could do about this. Get more people to engage into having honest conversations.9
1. Ad free internet.
2. A unified programming language.
(one language for everything)
3. A super computer powerful enough to simulate the present universe and predict the future.14
'Locutus' is a JS library that let's you use most of PHP's native functions in your project.
I found this very helpful since I have a C#/PHP background and I am building projects in Electron.6
I'm implementing a RESTful API to display search results based on a huge number of parameters. There are so many of them at this point that using a HTTP GET method feels quite cumbersome.
I was wondering whether it is okay to use a HTTP POST method to POST these parameters all at once at every request in exchange of a result set instead of bothering with so many GET parameters.
Some of these GET requests are even blocked by certain firewalls for being too long.10
My SSD goes bad and I file for an RMA. WD asks me to send in the faulty device in return of a replacement. So I pack everything up very nicely, put the labels on and hand it over to the courier.
Except for one tiny little problem, its been 2 days and it's only now that I found out that I forgot to put the faulty SSD inside the package.
So I basically just paid for a neatly packed empty box to be delivered to them. God! why do these SSDs have to be so freaking lightweight??10
Me : "Jarvis, build me shit...."
Jarvis : "Ok sir, assimilating....your program would be ready in approximately 5 minutes"6
Does anyone here know how to setup a dual gateway network?
Router-1 connects to the internet via ISP-1
Router-2 connects to the internet via ISP-2
Both the routers are in the same building. Obviously, the server system can only remain connected to one router. I'd like to set up the network in such a way that:
-All systems connected to both the routers can communicate with each other and of course the server.
-If the internet connectivity from one router goes down, all the nodes in the network must automatically use the other ISP.6
Worked on a shit ton of poorly maintained legacy code today. Had to setup an entire intervention to deal with it...5
Is it just me or does anyone else think that there are a lot of bot accounts running here on Devrant?15
This is a Transcend 1TB 'military grade' external hard drive. It never took a fall or experienced any kind of shock and yet it stopped working abrubtly like a year ago for no apparent reason.
Being out of warranty, I figured what the hell! I unscrewed the case to take a peek inside. Not that I was expecting to salvage the
disk or anything, as I was under the impression that its SATA connectors would be permanently soldered to its circuit board, as most manufacturers do.
But to my surprise, it wasn't! I put the disk in another case I had lying around,
plugged it in and voila! it works!!! All my data is still there. It was just a faulty circuit board!
It was sitting like a paperweight on my desk all this time and not once did even
I care to take a look inside. Man! What a day!!12
