Police just knocked at my door. Asked me about my neighbor, do I know him, did I already have trouble with him. They said "stay home until further notice". Now they are studying his house, they have helmets on, they got shields, weapons, and the fire department is here too...
Any idea of wtf ?29
Am I the only one with "reset to factory OCD" ?
I play a ton with my tech stuff. And sometimes everything look like a complete mess. Then I reset to factory or format.
Nowadays, I find myself doing it very often (like resetting my phone once every two weeks). I don't really know why, I just want it clean, and it looks my brain thinks that using it makes it not clean.
Anyone experiencing this ?4
When asked about my multitasking abilities, I said I was able to play online poker on 6 tables at the same time.
Turned out the recruiter was also an online poker player. Got the job.3
F*cking Apple Maps Imagery Collection car just passed trought my street.
This camera is so high above the car that it actually took pictures of my house above the hedge. (image from the internet, but it was the same car)
What the f*ck is this ? Do I come to your f*cking campus to take pictures above the hedge. Yeeeeah, we all know what would happen if I do so.
F*ck you Apple ! F*ck you !48
IT guy just pop into the office to make a test. They deployed Chrome on a network not connected to the Internet to access some webapp and want to find why it is so low to start.
I said, it is most likely trying to update itself but get firewalled by a badly written rule that drop the packet instead of rejecting it, so it waits and timeout.
I suggested Chromium as possible solution.
The guy replied : "Chromium is open source, too much open, every one can read the code and hack it, very unsecure."
I died inside.7
Python website pushes 32bits download to Windows users by default, even if 64bits is available. Is there any reason for this ?10
Made my first JS class yesterday.
I had not written a single line of code for the last 5 years. I had forgotten how satisfactory it is when it does exactly what it is supposed to do.7
Is it just me ?
Giving W10 a shot, I find it to be the poorest experience ever. WiFi not stable, half the system looks unfinished, photo app workflow as obscure as all the rest...
On the other end, macOS is as closed as it can be, keeps your data locked in the ecosystem to force you to buy another over expensive piece of hardware.
Linux is spread over 3000 distros, everyone trying to do stuff their way, no matter the standards or anything. Ubuntu pushing snaps event when you don't want them.
I guess I'll go back to Debian for my daily driver but I am wondering.
Is it just me ? Or is actually every company doing shit ?6
20k+ photos of my kids and basically all my life is trapped in iCloud Photo Library. No more iDevice available.
How stupid was I to think I would be safe once everything is online ?16
Come on MSFT, what make you think that I need Farm Hero Saga out of the box on my Windows 10 Pro ?16
