Don't know really, my father introduced me to vb6 when I was 11 (20 now) or something. And then I just started programming more and more. When I found other languages where I could do more things, and with bigger online communities. I just continued to program, and haven't yet become tired of it.

I am thinking about setting up a personal website again. Question is; 4 years ago i made a site that i still quite like the design of, but it is made with php.
So, should I update that one, or should I start over and use something else (been working a bit with node/express/jade lately f.e.)?6 -
Hi! What do you guys think about this design? I have an assignment at UNI, but the coding is not really any challenging, and so I wanted to see how good I could make the GUI for the program.
It is only a "one-screen-program", you can load a input-file "Åpne fil", which is a labyrint, then you can click in the labyrinth, and it will show all paths leading out.
I think I am happy with the light theme, and the only difference in the dark theme is the buttons (bordered/filled), the buttons in the bottom right corner is currently disabled.
Do you have any suggestions of which to choose, or any other tips?2 -
Soo, we are starting with some group-assignments in java next week at UNI. They are like three-week assignments I think.
The question now is, should I make the guys in my group use GIT? Yeah, it's stupid not to, but it might take long enough for them to learn it that it is an unnecessary use of time...
On the other hand, we could easier review each other's code before leaving it as is.
We even have an in-house Github enterprise server, meaning they won't have to make an account or anything. They can just log in with their UNI-user on GitHub desktop, which is rather simple.
But the workflow might be a bit tedious to get into? I haven't really tried to learn git to anyone before, everyone I have worked with just uses it anyways...
(Sidepoint, none of these guys have done any programming before last semester when they learned python.)7 -
Got a text yesterday from an old friend; "Hey! Are you good at webdesign, ala wordpress?". Apparently "someone wanted to hire me". So he asked if he should share my contact info with them.
Well, havent heard anything yet... But i'm a little bit scared to be honest.1 -
Today my ssd showed up, and since i have got my school pc back. And now "own" it, i finally have set up linux on it :)
Works (pretty) fine alongside the windows disk as well.
Man i am so excited for this😀😅
Decided to go with Antergos this time, as i wanted Arch, but didn't want to install it myself, not on my daily. -
Wiiiii, just received my stickers.
Now i'm just waiting to get my school-pc back from IT so i can put them somewhere! -
Wait, what? Why?
Had to upload something to a repo from someones Windows-computer. This greeted me when installing git, why shouldn't i use vim? :'(16 -
Hi guys! I feel like i am a lot of topic here😅 But i am looking for some advice. Next year i am an graduate, and in Norway that means PARTYING STRAIGHT THROUGH MAY. It is called a "russefeiring": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...
Anyway, i am in a group of 6 "russ"es, and we are aiming to get a car for this celebration. Actually there are two "devs" other than me in the group, although they swear by Lua, and only Lua. Besides the point... I am looking for tips on where to get sponsors, because we need some money to fund this car. There are none of us in the group that have parents able to provide us money, and it has become harder over the years to get local business to sponsor the "russ", as they are focusing more on other other groups (which is understandable).
Does anyone know of some company or something that could be interested in making a deal with some Norwegian "russ"? I don't really have good ideas for what we could do for them, only like, logos on the car/clothes and stuff. But we are open to the most freakish suggestions!3 -
So, i have never really liked javascript. I have found it too cumbersome with it variable types of objects, and no classe (before ES6) and so on.
But man i am starting to love node! It's so freaking elegant and simple, apart from the possibility of a dependency hell. It's so quick and easy to make elegant web-apps and other things.
I've gotta say, i never thought that i would love something based on javascript this much <32 -
OMG, i hate windows. Got a BSOD, and guess what... The whole Altium project i was working on is now corrupt! Not just the board, but the friqqin schematic as well.4

Sooo, this ain't really got anything to do with coding. But,
Just fuck feelings 😑 why the hell do they have to make life so difficult....9 -
I find it funny how they try to make it look like I achieved something by buying shit from them XD1

I remember we had a computer with windows 95 in the house. It was probably a ibm or something.
I think the first memory i have, is my mom showing me the hampster dance😂 -
What the heck PHP, why does this if think it's false!?
Probably gonna feel stupid soon 😅 but this makes no sense whatsoever.12 -
Why do freelancer have to have the worst messaging system in the world!? Messages takes literally 5 minutes to show up. And by that time the person you are trying to talk to have walked away from his computer because he thinks the conversation ended!
By all means i now there is shitty internet here, but when every single other service i use can do i just fine. Why can't you as well freelancer! -
WHAT THE HECK MICROSOFT!!? Outlook was working just fine till you decided to demolish every working part of it! Why, just why?
