I was hoping that I never have to build stupid websites again, but here I am...
The thing I hate the most, is the hassle to have an easy to update dev, staging and prod environment. Fuck wordpress, fuck drupal, fuck joomla.
git pull && composer install && npm install should be all that's needed to get the latest code in an environment.
composer require *** to install plugins. No stupid web interface where users install plugins in production env.
I don't want to create database dumps just because these fuckers think that you should store configurations in the database.
Is there any clean CMS primarily for professional programmers? Or are they all just made for retarded subhumans?5
I need to add offline map functionality to a PWA.
I guess it may require up to 50 MB to store a certain area. Should this be possible or will I hit any limits?5
Why the fuck are native desktop applications so damn slow when it comes to displaying remote/web contents???
Steam, XBOX/Microsoft Store, Apple App Store/Music are just a few examples. Waiting 1-2 seconds to perform a search, list products, start video playback or just loading a few bytes of text.
Even Internet Explorer destroys them when it comes to loading and displaying data! I prefer every overloaded electron based app over these crutches.
But honestly, why is this?!5
I'm having problems understanding ngrx (or simply rxjs...), once again.
I have a feature state called "World".
This state has three Actions: Init, InitSuccess and InitFailure.
Also I have other isolated feature states like "Mountains", "Streets", "Rivers".
They have actions like this and corresponding effects to fetch data: Load, LoadSuccess, LoadFailure.
Now I would like to add an effect to WorldActions.Init, which will dispatch Mountains.Load, Streets.Load, Rivers.Load one after another. So ideally an action log would look like this:
Or when an error occurs:
How could an effect pipeline for that look?
How can I dispatch World.InitSuccess only after all LoadSuccess-Actions have happened?
Or am I still trying to implement ngrx in a wrong/bad way?
PS: The reason I am putting everything into separate feature states is because "Mountains" etc. are standalone features on their own. Only in the context of a "World" they belong together. For this reason I can't create a monstrous effect "World.Load", without producing redundant code.13
Safari refuses to load images on some websites lately.
Honestly, I'm not quite sure if I prefer a broken browser, or useless shit I don't care for... :/7
I hate AMP sites so much. Fuck you Google! I'm not living in some third world country, nor do I use a decade old smartphone. And even if so, it's none of your fucking business what I do with my bandwidth!!
Just give me the real website, instead of downgraded shit!!1
Lol, what the fuck is this:
A bunch of idiots who can't handle the internet, let their child use it without supervision, or get offended because they were dragged out of their filter bubble and get confronted with reality.15
After two weeks of struggling with Docker, I can confidently say, this is the worst shit I've ever worked with.
$ php bin/console make:migration
ERROR: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known
Well let's try again...
$ php bin/console make:migration
ERROR: Connection refused
Different error messages for the same commands?! FUCK YOU!!!9
Fuck Redux/ngrx. I'm done, I can't get my head around this ugly shit. All I wanted was to load/save api data in a clean way and display a loading indicator now and then. But definitely not multiplying my entire code base by 10. Actions, Reducers, Effects. What is this?! Fuck that rocket science.5
We've noticed we gave you the wrong product prices for our new online shop.
Yeah, just login to the backend and fix them.
But we don't want to use your fancy backend, we'll be using anyway soon - we want EXCEL!
Could you send us an EXCEL, so we can fix that?
How much will this cost?
Sure... here you are.
Not that much, takes about an hour.
Great, you'll hear from us in a few days.
(a few months later...)
We've finally managed to update the EXCEL. And btw, we've also added a bunch of columns with product pictures and new properties, highlighted products to delete red, inserted some comments with manual instructions and basically destroyed the entire data structure of this table.
Before I forget... also make sure to get this finished today, we have to go live ASAP. Our marketing campaign is already live.
Well, I'm sorry to say this, but this is not possible.
I'm currently working on another project and it will take me hours to clean up the data you sent me, before even starting to build an import tool for the new data you provided. Better stop the campaign and I'll do my best to get this done by the end of the week. Also it may be a bit costly.
(angry client calls immediately...)
(dev transfers to manager...)
(client transfers to client's boss...)
Ok Dev, I think I was able to explain it to them. However, it would be great if you spend day and night to get this thing out ASAP.
I'll just do it by hand to get this out immediately.
(few days later; nearly done, exhausted)
Hey Dev, here's another EXCEL.
We've just noticed there were a bunch of errors in the previous one. Please use this instead...19
